  1. But...but...Protec is not such a cool name as Mindwarp and Bonehead, et. al. Nevermind relative protection provided, it's just not cool. ....neither is "Tupperware". "T'was ever thus."
  2. Ahhh yes, it's a common problem. Your co-workers are exhibiting the (now) standard U.S. work ethic while you, on the other hand....perform like an illegal immigrant. You show up, do your job well and earn your wages.....whuudya' 'spect?!! They probably can't figure out why all the jobs are going overseas, either! "T'was ever thus."
  3. What is that? I had no idea what to call it.. but I mean to address those who put the magazine together Keep it geeneral, just use "staph". "T'was ever thus."
  4. People tell me I'm self-destructive, due to a false perception that I have "dangerous" hobbies. I'd say their combination of couch, Doritos and tv are much more self-destructive, than anything I've ever done. "T'was ever thus."
  5. Aww, c'mon......somebody act surprised. Somebody.......anybody......? "T'was ever thus."
  6. I had the same problem....yep, jump #6 too. It lasted for 2 or 3 jumps, even my instructors couldn't see an obvious reason. Finally, out of frustration, I paid extra for a vidiot....hoping the video would show what we couldn't see but as soon as the cam was there, the spinning stopped and never returned. Obviously, the spin-gremlins are camera-shy.
  7. "American Pie" deja vu....another day, the music died. They shoulda' quit, while they were on top.....there's no other graceful way out. I knew it was over, when they fired Felder....he and Walsh were the Eagles. For a band with that kind of talent, it's a sad end. I keep hopin' for Walsh, Felder and Schmit, to get something together. "T'was ever thus."
  8. As far as i know, every jumper who ever jumped eventually came back down, but not every scubadiver that ever went down has come back up. ....but since we land under canopy....if the main and reserve should both fail, you could be stuck up there forever! No wonder they say it's dangerous! "T'was ever thus."
  9. Let the air outa' the planes tires....it'll climb to altitude faster, without the extra pounds! "T'was ever thus."
  10. Some Frenchman coined the term....probably while trying to say "velvet" and throw-up, at the same time. "T'was ever thus."
  11. Yeah, I've got an '84 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham...talk about plush
  12. Guns & tanks & riot gas, can't stop you from smokin' grass.
  13. I suppose anything "long distance" has an element of risk but there are plenty of success stories out there. I'm not sure why Russia seems to be associated with the "mail order bride", so exclusively....they're in there from all countries, even the U.S. and some do have both sexes. Most of the scams are pretty obvious, if you're at all familiar with travel and/or immigration related processes and they're most often encountered on the "regular" dating sites, not the foreign bride type sites. St. Pete, during the "White Nights"......that's the place to be, if you're a single guy...and lookin'! Also, awesome place to jump! "T'was ever thus."
  14. Never been to PA, obviously. "T'was ever thus."
  15. Geeziz, 400 watts....you can crack dams, with somethin' like that!! Yeah...when playin' became a "job", I quit the "band scene". At home and by myself, bass was kinda' boring so I've moved to six & twelves. I enjoy it but bass was more fun, absolutely. "T'was ever thus."
  16. Yep, got me! I confused "Phenomena" with Whitesnake....Neil Murray was another good one. As for Sarzo..maybe he's worked his way up to a Ric, by now. Coverdale, Lord, Paice, Moody, Murray & Marsden were the "real" Whitesnake....ya' know, before they got perms, broke their wrists and re-did "Here I Go Again"....badly. "T'was ever thus."
  17. Every bass wants to be a Ric, when it grows up. I was always partial to the growly, trebley sound...big fan of Gary Thain (Uriah Heep), Glenn Hughes (Whitesnake/D. P.) & Geddy Lee (Rush). Nothin' does it, quite like a Ric. Yeah, veeeerrrry '70s....I think this was '75 or '76....and we played that kind of stuff, too (Yes, Kansas, ELP, eetc.)! No wonder we were always broke. The Music Man stack had two 12"s on top and one 15", on the bottom. I used to combine that with a Fender Bassman 100 head and an ARP cabinet, with two 15"s.....using the "Ric O' Sound" box. It split the pickups...ran the neck (bass) through the Fender and the bridge (treble), through the MM stack. It sounded good but damn, too much equipment to lug around! I had an old '50s Mosrite, before the Ric....I miss 'em both. "T'was ever thus."
  18. I have no idea, as to what you may be referring to.......... "T'was ever thus."
  19. ....but....but....how d'ya pass the joint?!! "T'was ever thus."
  20. I tried a chord finder and I'm coming up with Gsus2...wouldn't lay money on it, though.....keeps kickin' up a Cmaj7 too. "T'was ever thus."
  21. I'd imagine he's pretty well filtered into the local water supply by now, been dead for like....35 years. "T'was ever thus."
  22. It's the "airframe changes" that I'd be watchin' for! "T'was ever thus."
  23. I feel for you, really....been there a few times. Worst, was when I broke 3 on my left and had a nasty cold, at the same time. Coughing was bad enough but the occasional sneeze, could be deadly! All you can do is bind 'em up and deal with the pain...they heal slowly. Congratulations, you're now a barometer!
