I've been out for a while and I'm sure a lot has changed, since then. Back then, sexual harassment was the catch-all. Almost every guy I know, that was dating a military female and dumped her, got busted for sexual harassment. As for civilian life, I offer this word of caution.....referring to the District Magistrate, as the "District Masturbate".....won't get you out of a anything. "T'was ever thus."

...and the computer. "T'was ever thus."

Smart to admit that on a public forum!

For Whom will you Vote in the Presidential Election

The Afflack Duck is our only hope! "T'was ever thus." -
there's a difference between being goodie-goodie and being good enough not to get caught. ...and also, in having the initiative and purpose, not to care if you get caught or not....just complete the mission. "T'was ever thus."

Yeah, they make signs too...they're everywhere! "T'was ever thus."

....The GROUND scares me! Well, slow ground is okay....I'm ascared of the fast ground! "T'was ever thus."

What would make you read the parachutist again?

Ya' know....I've been told my logbook's a bit different than most but really, I'm not seein' it. Here's an excerpt...... She was no spring chicken but looked damned good, for her age. She was in fine form, her silhouette was shapely and her skin, smooth and taut. Every time I saw her, I just wanted to "jump" her! She looked so hot, in her seemingly painted-on outfit. She was well built...with her large, voluptuous engine nacelles and strong, shapely landing gear. She had the tightest little tail and her rudder wiggled enticingly, whenever she moved. My eyes were immediately and uncontrollably drawn, to the ever-so-slightly revealing cleavage of her wing-roots...... "T'was ever thus." -
I'd love to know the answer to that too. Along with a few more. How many jumps until it is safe and/or allowed to be done by a jumper? Does it require training of some sort to know how to deal with different winds or other conditions/safety concerns? Also, how long would you typically be under canopy after opening at 12K? I know this is something that I will want to do one day, so this topic really interests me. First off, you should always accept the possibility of landing out and be prepared for it...h&p or not. As for the winds, definitely be aware and plan your spot accordingly.....it's best to be last. Unless you're going directional, like a x-country, ya' might wanna' avoid the windier days...work your way up. Same with altitude, start lower....like 7 or 8000 ft. and work up. I've done 'em from 14,000 and though I love to do 'em, that was just too much for me.......I biffed in with some numb-ass legs. I generally do 10 or 12000, tops....depending on the canopy, wing loading, conditions and how much turning you do, you can get a good 20 to 30 minutes of air time. You need to be relatively familiar with your canopy's descent rate but it's not so different, from a lower jump....just longer. You need to have your head on a swivel, watch for airplane traffic and heed cloud clearances, according to the BSRs (gratuitous disclaimer). I usually plan mine for the load, right before refueling so I can get down before the next load goes up (hopefully). Sunset loads are prime and landing, when there's no plane in the air, really screws with the whuffo spectators. "T'was ever thus."

So......use a bowl! Actually, I believe they were quoting a line from the movie "Reefer Madness". More than 30 years ago, it was determined that marijuana use can arrest many forms of cancer....doesn't cure it but stops it from spreading....interesting how nobody talks about that, anymore. "T'was ever thus."

I had a brake come unstowed and cause a similar reaction on my Tri. It spun-up like a loose shirtsleeve on a drillbit then almost instantly, morphed into a lineover and wicked flat-spin. I never had time to get to my toggles, it went up quick! "T'was ever thus."

I'll have to add that to the list. "T'was ever thus."

Have you ever asked to see aircraft maint loggs?
kschilk replied to skydived19006's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'd thought about it but then......I thought about it. Problem is, I'd know what I was looking at and most likely, wouldn't like what I saw. "T'was ever thus." -
Mom won't let me go, how can I convince her?
kschilk replied to AlexEvanczuk's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ok, ya' tried bein' nice, diplomatic & yadda yadda....now it's time to get ugly. Drag mom to the local dz and let her mill around a bit, talk to some people and observe a few student jumps. Most of the fears go away, once they see for themselves that it all "ain't so muchk of a muchk". Who knows, maybe you & mom can get on the same load! -
