  1. most people who say shit like that are just trying to tear others down to feel better about themselves. petty, petty, petty! their ends will come around to bite them in the ass! Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward
  2. I think I would prefer global warming to the alternative of an ice age. All I ever hear people scream about is green house gases, I think that for a long long time we have been moving out of an ice age and although we may be accelerating the warming a bit it is natural. Another gas no one talks about is sulfur dioxide and it seems to have the opposite affect to green house gasses, by reflecting the heat from the atmosphere. this gas is also a product of fossil fuels and can be expelled in great quantities from volcanic eruptions. I think that it would be much easier to survive in a green house enviroment than in a sub zero ice age enviroment! we play with things we don't fully understand and end up totally fucking things up. 5. he is in a school that he doesn't have any problems with other kids thank goodness, we have him in a private school. he is able to take the knowledge he has learned and utilize it in different areas, and we are getting him a chess set, in checkers he evaluates your moves and sets up a defense accordingly, and forces you to move the way he wants, thought I was good at checkers, a little humbling it is. 8. Had a meeting with his teacher today, she requested us to come in and see her. I had noticed some things previos to this meeting like him counting cards and nobody in our family able to beat him at checkers and memories that he has of things before he was a year old that are accurate. Now the teacher tells us that she asks questions and he quotes answers verbatim from books! yes he is on the A honor roll but what do you do with a child like this. special schools, don't want to rush him in growing up, I want him to be a kid and do the stuff kids do! 20. I've been flying jump planes for years as a side line job, when I give the door to the jumpers it doesnt mean that its time to get out, it means its time to take a look and see if I'm tracking right over the ground, or what ever. I dont mind corrections! I want everyone to have a good safe and fun jump! I do all I can to be aware of other airtraffic, scans, radio announcements, contact with atc for area traffic. and whatever it takes, my job ends when I see your smiling face on the ground! 25. It sounds like you are doing more than most people. The key is to keep your eyes out the windows on jumprun, and then to do a final check before you get out. If everybody in the airplane does that much, then the risk of collision goes way down. My only suggestion is to get your student involved too, which you may already be doing. When I was doing tandems, I made it a point to check out the windows and get the student looking outside too, even on the first jump. It wasn't so much to have them check for traffic, but it at least got them started looking out the window. On later jumps we would cover the "why" of looking. Obviously that's a part of AFF. It amazes me how many jumpers, especially on large airplanes, don't even glance out a window, much less actually look for traffic. .
