just saw a video of a guy flying a wing suit down a mountain side very close to the ground! now if he went to a standing position do you think he might be able to land. http://www.break.com/index/salomon_wingsuit_video.html Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

I used to be called 'suitcase' because a long time ago I used to carry all my gear around in a paisley suitcase. everybody thought it was the funniest thing they saw, but, it kept all my stuff in one place. Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

A whole new demo jump discussion...
godfrog replied to Cashmanimal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
there is alot to be considered when doing a demo, listen to experience of others and consider very carefully what you are undertaking. consider your skills from and honest point of veiw! no room for arrogance! I once jumped into a parking lot and had a strip 20' wide and 100' long to land in, buildings, power lines, people, never do it again! gotta consider your outs if you have a mally too. mechanical turbulance and so on. alot to think about. My mother died of lung cancer a little over a year ago. It wasn't from smoking though, it was from asbestos. She died of Mesothelioma, I think its spelled right. she was also a lifetime smoker which didn't help. Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

What jump number was your first cutaway?
godfrog replied to illusioneer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my first mally was on jump 98, slider up. cut away and landed standing up under a 22' sac reserve. got the only dry spot out there. a freind followed me down and sank to his knee's in the mud -
We don't survive, we have become slaves to the machine. money comes in and it goes out. when we burn out we are just cast aside! Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

I was 125 when I started skydiving and it seemed like everyone I jumped with back then was 200+++. I learned to stick my shoes to the back of my helmet and go for it. after awhile I was leaving a dc-3 last on bigways and making my slot easily

I was wondering if there are any good mini-dvd camcorders that are durable enough to go through the riggers of skydiving and give good quality recordings? Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

Maybe the Parachute Symbol was a Clue . . .
godfrog replied to NickDG's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
as a jump pilot I give 5min, 3,2, and 1 min noticices to jumpers away on ALL local frequencies and give ATC a 3 min heads up so they can check radar for possible conflicting air traffic. Also when I hang out at area FBO's I talk to pilots about operating near DZ's. they all seem happy to learn what they can for a saftey stand point. I have jumped a pull out for alota years and never had a problem with it. with a pull out I always new I had it anchored because i pulled it out far enough for it to jerk the pud out of my hand. My new rig has a BOC so it's in the same place when I reach for it. Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward
