  12. I would think that that would be up to the mechanic that does the inspection on the aircraft to call it airworthy or not. if it is operated under part 91 it should be inspected at least once a year by an AI. hopefully in jump ops they do a 100hr inspection! 16. Expensive? I just e-mailed a guy that has a paragliding school and he told me that a paragliding course would cost $1500, and that he likes to teach skydivers and pilots because we don't get scared as easily. I don't know but doesn't the price seem a little steep? Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

  18. check the spark plug and re-gap it and probably replace it, when they get old they start to not work well under compression. clean the carberator(s) out with carb cleaner, drain and replace fuel. Since it ran but not well from the bike shop I would guess spark plug first. did it run good before going into the shop? if all of this don't work I would check the points. make sure spark plug wires are all the way down and it might bite you but while turning it over touch the spark plug wires to see if they are leaking, if they bite you get new ones. Thanx for the info, I think he will do alright, I don't think they can over do him on this mountain and he's got a good head on his shoulders and I'm going up with him, so they'll be less likely to try to shame him into anything. We ski and board together so I know his limits and weaknesses. Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

  22. I would go with Amazon's advice. US95 in Idaho is curvy and narrow in quite a few places, especially north of Weiser. Plus, if you breakdown between Winemucca and Jordan Valley, you'll probably have to eat a family member to survive. ------------------------------------------------------------ And white bird pass really sucks this time of year and it is a long pull with a trailer Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward
  23. Yeah, that skydiving as well as HP landings are dangerous. How many times do you think this man smoked and successfully completed this maneuver?? Fact of the matter is weed effects different people in different ways. That's true, but the fact of the matter is: -use of illegal substances effects the sport in the same way...negatively. AND the real question is, would he have been able to complete the maneuver, that last time before he bought the farm, had he been 'clean'? ~I don't know, but the 'general public' sure thinks he would have, and most of our DZ's are located in their world, so like it or not...their opinion counts! -my sister is in state government, and lives in the next county over from SDC, she told me what was goin' on when those fatalities went down...let's just say it was a real dog & pony show with the Illinois states attorney talking about setting up investigations, raids and sting operations to prove things that were only conjecture... but believed true, because of a couple of negative toxicology fatalities and Roger's past. How would YOU feel if the DEA showed up at your DZ with sniffer puppies, checking your car and gear??? If one cares anything at all about the sport they should do what's necessary to see that it's not put in a bad light...period. I don't care what anybody puts into their body, as long as it doesn't effect ME...when some-one's illegal drug use becomes an issue with others, then we have a problem.
