Miners aren't that dumb, they have probably already a good evaluation of they're situation. It looks like they have already made sound plans and have elected a good and knowledegable leader that can control situations. I am sure they know they're approximate elevation from the surface. The drifts must be fairly large since they have mechanized equipment down there and yes the refuge chambers are small but at least they are not restricted to staying in the chamber. I agree with John, My job is being a safety Supervisor and believe it or not people will put themselves in situations, no gloves, no respirators, no safety gear because it is uncomfortable, cumbersome, or they just don't feel like it. unfortunately alot of these rules are written in blood. I pro pack my PD, before I put it away for good I flat packed my cruise lite. It seemed to have a longer snivel if I pro packed it. When I first got my PD it was recommended to pro pack it, everyone I knew was still flat packing, So I'm pro packing my PD and someone walks by and says, packing a mally there. That info should have been installed in the books when the stol kit was installed. Was flying into Fairbanks in january, I was in the back of the plane, on short approach the plane started drifting and the pilot kicked in a bunch of rudder and we HIT the runway like that, about shit myself and was waiting for the gear to collapse. other than that I think I'll find out when we crash just like every one else. I was sitting in a bar and in comes a freind and asks me if I have a trap big enough to trap a pesky racoon. I went out to my truck and rummaged up a #4 jaw trap and gave it to him. Last week I was working a split shift at camp and the towel (house keeping) girl (19) came in to deliver towels. She didn't seem to mind that I was taking a shower! She did this all week, I varied my shower times and one time she even watched me go into the dry, I think I was being stalked. Kinda weird having some one else like that be so bold! My whole life has been a long distance relationship. my job requires me to spend vast amounts of time away. I have gone through many relationships, and my current on is a little rocky.
