sounds to me like you went to one of those wham bam thank you jobs......find a good CFI that can give you what you need and do the book work yourself. books; fundamentals of instruction, and I think the other one is called phsycology of learning. these may help if you don't already have them. At my home 182 dz if you say you want to do a solo, they probably won't let you, unless you have a good reason. They would much rather jump with you, no matter what kind of flying you want to do. I feel sorry for the turbine newbies that feel they have to jump by themselves because they aren't good enough to go with the "good" groups. thats what I like about smaller DZ's, more homey and the students seem to learn alot faster because people are always looking for someone to fill that last slot and it's all fun. I heard of a guy that when the lights came on he stopped in the middle of the lane, the cop walks up and told him to drive his car to the side of the road. Later when in court the guys lawer called the cop to the stand and asked him if he autherized his regulary autherized people who he suspect were drunk to drive their car, supposedly the judge threw the case out. I keep getting a pop up for coors light that completely disables my access to anything, tried sending a pm and wasn't able to finally got here and am trying to get through with this. Anything you can do and anybody else having this problem, also got a threat detected pop up but it disappeared before I could research it. It only happens on here. Had an army ex-army airborn guy show up at the DZ one day, took awhile but got through to him that he still needed a first jump course and a radio. even after that when he left the plane, (static line) all of the old military training kicked in and he flew in a straight line down wind and out of site....didn't see it but at least he proly did a good PLF...the fetchers brought him back uninjured, and I never seen him again. passports make it a whole lot easier, but for a couple of months I think the drivers license and birth certificate will work. There is a whole lot more around montana to enjoy then just glacier park, try yellowstone, or the museum of the rockies, crystal park or the hot springs dotted around, skiing fishing... tons of stuff to do!
