IMO, this is the post of reason in this thread! Well said. Let's look at the raison d'etre of the elephant. It isn't to be a billboard now, is it. That would be my fundamental objection, the (mis)use of a living creature for a purpose other than what it was created for. Have you guys ever been to a dog or cat (or another show), a Rodeo, Sea World. A park where people walk and play with dogs an equestrian event. A farm? I know they are made of meat, but were deer or sheep created to be eaten? Seems to me we do a lot of things to animals that are somewhat worse than painting them. I'd rather be painted than eaten or ridden. good points, but horses are ideally suited for being ridden and in certain circumstances are necessary for that purpose. as for other animals being used as food, well, let's just forgo that conversation altogether, shall we?
