  6. And why? I am just wondering how it would hold up in court. "so he walked up to you in your vehicle and said 'want to have some fun', and you killed him". rm thanks for oversimplifying, but there's alot more to it than that... a group of men approached her in a seedy part of town, she felt in imminent fear of her safety/life and took appropriate steps to neutralize the threat. It totally would stand in court. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

    MUNICH

Which suggests that the movie is probably pretty well balanced in its treatment of the issues. Only being three at the time of the actual events, I can't say so much one way or the other, but IMO, it appeared to be pretty balanced. It was very good. Have you seen it? I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

interesting isn't it how the jews are saying the movie isn't sympathic enough, or AT ALL, and the palestinians want to be consulted about "their" side of the story. sheesh. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
  10. Adn he saved her by shaming the men there by telling them that the first one without sin should cast the first stone. and then told her to sin no more. ONe save as opposed to?????? THOUSANDS Who knows how many women were saved from that ONE incident. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

  15. what is the "Jesus Nut"? nevermind... found out what it is... the nut that holds the blades on the helicopter... and there is scripture to support it (tongue in cheek anyway)... Col 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
  16. very well said, indeed! as for the mushy hug? I dunno, I just thought I'd throw an icky adjective in there.
  17. As well as women's history. March is "Women's History Month," and it's just as ridiculous a concept. I don't think we can do away with "black" as a descriptor any more than than we can do away with "woman" as a descriptor. What needs to go, however, are the negative messages associated with both words. That's the real problem. rl Right - and no negativity about "old" and "bald" either! Well, I can agree w/ you about the "bald" part anyway. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

  20. We did that once when I was a GK - the C-31 had a maintenance gig that grounded it. We "recruited" the Chinook crew to fly the show for us. thanks to you too for serving, didn't mean to leave you out a minute ago...
  21. I jump out of them pretty much all the time when jumpng at work. They are quite fun to jump out of. I have had them haul my ass off of many a mountain top and out of many a hairy situation. I rode on one almost every day for 8 months straight and even after being shot up it still landed. They are the workhorses over in Afghanistan and elsewhere. I beg to differ that they crash too often. not only that, but they are kick-ass to see at an airshow doing a demo... my god are they maneuverable! btw, thanks for serving our country, man. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
  22. thanks, John! I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
  23. Does anyone know if there are any Chinooks in private ownership? I've looked and looked on the web but can't find anything. I found this site http://www.ch-47.com/ that occasionally SELLS them, but... Any info? Who here has jumped from them? I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

  25. well, as a physician, let's hear your take on the whole gun debate... while I have met a couple of docs who are pro-gun, i've met all too many who are rabidly anti-gun, having dealt to many times w/ the damage guns can cause to the body. oh, and big fat mushy hug, doc. I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
