It's just bad nettiquet to post private messages. It's considered rude. He may have been rude to you in the PM, but being rude back is not much of a solution. - Dan G

PM stands for Private Message. I don't know what godziller's problem is, but WTF is your problem that you feel the need to post his PM? - Dan G

I think you just proved yourself correct. I thought you wanted to include veiled statements meant to rile people up. The last nine words of your sentence were completely unneeded, and clearly intended to rile up people with whom you often disagree. Why not set the example? - Dan G

Would you try to disarm someone on the street?

A BANANA??? YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR A BANANA?!?!? - Dan G -
Um, no, I mean, "to be non-partisan you can't see everything in the universe as 'us' vs. 'them'." You took a post about a Canadian gun law and tried to turn it into something about those bastards that run the liberal US media. Give it a fucking rest. When's the last time you saw anything in the US news about Canadian politics? They don't cover it because, frankly, most US citizens don't care. - Dan G

How about answering the question? I know what a half-hitch is. I don't have any idea how (or why) you could do that with a loop of rubber band. - Dan G

Still waiting on those studies. It should be easy for you, being as there are so many. - Dan G -
I agree 12lbs is a lot (a way lot) but according to his profile he weights 123lbs without gear. That's well below average for a man. Especially in Texas. - Dan G

Right. So where's the link to the many studies that show your point of view? Saying there are many studies is not the same as there actually being many studies. - Dan G -
When do you earn the right to call yourself a skydiver?
DanG replied to Bibliophile's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No, that just means you've jumped with him. Duh. You're a skydiver when you stop caring if you can call yourself a skydiver. - Dan G -
Why do you want a lifetime membership? If it is so much cheaper, can't you just get a yearly membership instead? - Dan G

Gangrape of girl, 15, dozens watched and did nothing
DanG replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
First of all, you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of decency on this one. And in response to your thinly veiled insult about the Democratic Party, i'd say most of the scumbags will probably not vote at all, but those that do will most likely vote Democratic. Why? Is it because Democrats support gang rape, crime, drugs, and inner city decay? No, it is because people who live with gang rape, crime, drugs, and inner city decay all around them think that Democrats are more likely to solve those problems (or even care about them) than Republicans. So in these likely voters' minds, it is the Republicans who are soft of gang rape, crime, drugs, and inner city decay, But that's not what you meant, is it? - Dan G -
I agree that two months seems like a long time to make a decision on troop levels. On the other hand, do you really think the day after McChrystal makes his recommendations for moving forward, everything that happened up to that point is now Obama's fault? Or that he needs to ignore the history of how we got where we are? That really doesn't make sense. On the timeline issues, how long was it between Petreaus's recommendations and when Bush announced the surge? Was it the next day? I really don't remember. I'm not saying, "Bush did it first," I'm just trying to see if two months of internal dialouge is out of the ordinary for something like this. - Dan G

You think Lieberman's a Democrat? That's a good one. - Dan G

From your cite: Well, since he's telling the truth, I don't see the problem. What's your opinion? When can Obama take full responsibility for success and/or failure in Afghanistan? - Dan G

Whoa! Back up. You're been arguing all along that pairing for life by same sex couples is abnormal and therefore wrong. Why would it be okay to you if they called it a "civil union" but not okay if they called it a "marriage"? I thought it was the fact that the life pairing is abnormal that made it wrong. Why do the words now matter? - Dan G -
Nice job trying to sow seeds of doubt in this student's mind about the competency of their instructors. How would you feel if your student showed up at the DZ next weekend thinking you were all f'ed up because of something a stanger posted on the internet? - Dan G

Your Dad had a belt?!? Lucky bastard. Seriously, it seems the answer to the title question, "Is the AFF rating too easy?" is entirely dependant on the age of the responder. There have been many of these threads, none of them ever has any useful information. Can someone please start bitching about the Coach rating? Those discussions are always fascinating, too. - Dan G

The reply function is great. Why you keep putting your own words in a box entitled "In Reply To" is what is annoying people. Here's how it works: 1. Hit the "reply" button 2. Paste in what you are replying to 3. Hit the "/reply" button (notice it has changed?) 4. Type your reply 5. Hit the "Preview Post" button 6. Make sure everything looks right 7. Hit the "Post Reply" button Posts should appear like this: your words Your posts always appear like this: You're doing it wrong. - Dan G

I agree on all your points, except the part about monetary investment. I think rehmwa's point (if I may be so bold as to presume) was that there is a disconnect between considering the cameraman a co-equal team member, and paying for his training jumps. If a cameraman wants to be considered part of the team, why doesn't he pay his way like everyone else? The investment in the camera equipment pales in comparison to the investment in training dollars for any semi-serious team. BTW, I've been both a 4way player and 4way cameraman. - Dan G
