    Yes. Density is relative. Often the density of water at a specific temperature and pressure is used as a reference. Guess what, prices (and taxes) are relative, too, especially when they are expressed as a percentage of some reference value. - Dan G

    Oddly, in Virginia there is not such thing as a bar, at least under the law. All public establishments must derive at least 50% of their revenue from food sales. The only places that a visitor would recognize as a bar are technically private clubs, where you must pay a "membership fee" (cover charge) and have your name recorded as a club member. Places like that can serve all the alcohol they want. I'm not sure how the gun laws apply to clubs. Of course, there are some restaurants that have a separate room set up as a bar (even with a separate entrance) but they always have to have a true restaurant on the premises, too. It's weird. - Dan G

    Not to nitpick, but it should be pointed out that it wasn't just the good guys that were armed. The only actor in the five stories you posted who wasn't armed was the polar bear. - Dan G

    Any houses next to you for sale? Seriously, I think we need to get rid of the mortgage interest deduction. It would greatly increase my current tax liability, but I think it makes sense. I don't see a current need to encourage home ownership through the tax code. - Dan G

    Well, since Bush did, in fact, lie, and people did, in fact, die, that slogan is at least technically accurate. It's stupid, too, but technically accurate. I don't blame Bush et al. for civilian deaths in Iraq. I do, however, blame them for taking the focus and funding away from the fight in Afghanistan for no good reason. We'd be a lot farther along in Afghanistan if we hadn't wasted so much time, mony, and effort in Iraq. - Dan G

    The stereotype you were making was that the Democratic party is the party that's keeping people down. The fact of the matter is that neither party is very good at doing what is best for the country. You chose to make it partisan. I'm not affiliated with either party. I've voted for both Democrats and Republicans in the past. These days, I find it very hard to vote for Republicans because they all seem to be right wing evangelicals with no sense of reality. The Democrats may be turds, too, but they seem less inclined to take guidance from invisible friends or poor translations of ancient tribal fairytales. - Dan G
