Multiple stabbings of 'students' in high school
DanG replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Thanks, you too. - Dan G -
Total aside: I once heard a report on the radio where the "scientists" claimed that eating 1 lbm of food did not make a person 1 lbm more massive. As in, weight yourself, eat a 1 lbm hamburger, and weight yourself immediately after. The report claimed that you wouldn't weight 1 lbf more. It was an amazing display of ignorance. This was years ago, and it stuck with me. I suppose you can lose a little through respiration, perspiration, and flatulence. Processing the food will convert some very, very small amount of mass into energy. Otherwise, unless you hit the loo, it matters not if you carry the food in your hand or your stomach. I know this has nothing to do with weight loss, but I'm bored at work. Clearly you've never heard of butt chugging. - Dan G

That comparison might be valid if the execution method were releasing poison gas over the convict's home town. Putting a single, identified individual in contact with gas is not what upsets people. It's the fact that gas is, by it's nature, not a disciminate weapon. - Dan G

I want to apologize for being a douche. I was wrong to assume you were making a racial post. I reread the article, and I agree that I jumped to unsupported conclusions. Sorry, I'll try to be less douchy in the future. - Dan G -

Behavioral profiling is fine in my book. Posting is a behavior. Is the distinction between behavioral profiling and racial profiling too subtle for you? - Dan G -

One could argue that oranges are apples, too. - Dan G -

Jumped all over you? This is all I said: If you're going to make a bunch of recent posts about "the blacks", don't act so shocked when people assume you're talking about "the blacks" when you post a story about black people stabbing each other. - Dan G -
Yes regarding contraception. Probably no on the STDs. That's not their primary mission. - Dan G

So the post isn't about race, and it isn't about guns. What's it about? - Dan G -

I didn't call you a racist. I said you have a recent history of making "blacks are bad" posts. So, what was your point? - Dan G -

What's your point? Given your recent posting history, I'm forced to assume you're trying to say something bad about black people. - Dan G -
But what bright line can you draw? When the body count gets to 10,000? How about 1,000? or 100? And who decides when a killing is "justified" or not? There's no bright line to cross. Chemical weapons use is a bright line. Assad can't hide behind the lie that he's just targeting "terrorists". NBC weapons are, by their nature, different than conventional weapons. Their use is rightly considered a crime against humanity. - Dan G

And if the US does nothing and the rebels win, then they still have control over the weapons. The only difference being they won't have the recent memory of Assad getting rocketed for using them. The proposed strike is nt about securing the chemical weapons. It is about punishing their use. - Dan G

You owe me a new irony meter. - Dan G

It's not his age that makes him a rapist. It's HER age. She was a child. - Dan G

But gassing civilians, which is against all international laws and conventions, is okay? - Dan G

Why Must Everything Be a Medical Condition? (no guns or fracking)
DanG replied to ibx's topic in Speakers Corner
Huh? Who is the government making pay for your insurance? Or anyone else's? I don't follow your point. - Dan G -
Why Must Everything Be a Medical Condition? (no guns or fracking)
DanG replied to ibx's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure, but what's the functional difference between an insured skydiver and an insured couch potato Twinkie addict? In both cases the costs of the risky behavior are borne by others. The moral hazard is the same. - Dan G -

USPA BOD... Nothing more than a mouth piece for manufacturers
DanG replied to Ron's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I can understand how this can be seen as an attempt to shift potential liability from AAD manufacturers to S&TAs. Perhaps that's true. The difference is that S&TAs have direct control over the liability they will accept by either granting or refusing waivers. The AAD manufacturers would not, and can not. - Dan G -

It's about both. For some people, that makes it evil. For others, that makes it part of the real world. - Dan G -
You forgot to work the Bilderberg Group into your theory. - Dan G

USPA BOD... Nothing more than a mouth piece for manufacturers
DanG replied to Ron's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
For Ron's theory to be true, yes, they needed to do this so the AAD manufacturers can increase activation altitude. Can you guys really not understand a logic chain that has more than one link? Or is it just the same old generic anti-USPA bashing? - Dan G -

Well then I guess it won't hurt anything either. - Dan G
