    That is very open to subjectivity. Usually people bring their own liquor, or if booze is provided it is self serve. It is very hard for a host to monitor, and often you don't know who drove and who took a cab. It really should be left solely on the individual whether or not he/she drives impaired.     Expecting people to actually be responsible for their actions and accept the consequences is not fashionable these days. There will undoubtedly be a million counsellors asking what "root problem" caused this "poor misguided child" to go astray. Furthermore if she is a member of a special interest group the system will be put in trial for their violation of her rights.     It's the fault of the company that makes bottle openers. If it weren't for bottle openners there would be no impaired driving. Those evil bottle openner firms are profiting on our childrens deaths and should pay through the nose. Oh and the people who make glasses that people drink their beverages out of are responsible.     That would be nice to see, however high profile bad guys like him always get extra protection by the institution because of some silly human rights notion. A buddy of mine is a correctional officer and he said that the day and age of undesirables (like child molesters) getting done in by the other inmates is over. Scum like that get put into special wings where they are surrounded by their own kind and therefore not at risk from other cons. Shit still occasionally happens to these guys but when it does there is always a witch hunt for the gaurds who allowed the other inmates access to the guy.     I have had both male and female roommates and let me tell you that girls can be worse than guys when it comes to cleaning. I lived with one girl who's habits made me want to puke. Anyway living with a girl can be OK if there is a good personality match, but a female roommate can make your life hell if you don't get along. If seeking a house with multiple roommates it is good to have a mix. You don't want either the guys or the girls to dominate numerically.     I certainly hope there is no such thing as destiny. While I have certainly seen circumstantial evidence indicating that fate/destiny is predetermined, I truly hope that is not the case.     He is not being charged with being aware of the crime after the fact. He was aware that this horrible crime was going to happen well in advance. Knowing this he kept silent and allowed people to be slaughtered for the crime of being "infidels". His silence made it possible for the others to carry out the act.     That is unfortunate. He has all his basic health needs taken care of. If medical attention is required he can get it. There is no need for him to have contact with other people, nor is there need for him to read or see the news. He has no use for further learning. We are certainly not obliged to provide entertainment or esthetics to his environment.     Fair enough. Human decency says we have to provide shelter from elements (not luxury), adequate nutricious food (not tasty or even a variety). Put him in solitary in a room that is body temperature, white light, no windows or contact with other humans. No reading or TV or internet. He can spend his remaining years eating the same bland meal (some type of nutrition paste like baby food) with as much water as he requires. He can spend those years in silence staring at 4 white walls and hearing nothing.     Those are both common misconceptions about suicide. In reality most suicides do give some indication of their intent beforehand. It has also been found that often seriously suicidal people do not always find a way. With proper help they can often (not always) overcome suicidal tendencies. If you google search "suicide myths" you will get a number of sights that will confirm what I am saying.     Gas station in my late teens, and rent-a-cop in my early 20's (was really desperate for work). For the rent-a-cop job they loved me because I was always willing to pick up the graveyard shift which no-body wanted. They never had to take their turn on graveyard because I was always willing to do it. No-one ever figured out that I only wanted to do graveyards so that there was little likelyhood any of my freinds would spot me in the Cliff Claven outfit and figure out that I was a toy-cop security gaurd.     True. Also you have to fear repercussions from an individual who you have to apprehend. I did a citizens arrest once and because I had to get a wee bit forcefull (no real harm done to the guy) I was shitting myself wondering of the loser was going to press charges or sue me. Yes if you end up battling it out with multiple gunmen and ending up in time magazine, Most cases it is just some loser picking on someone who can't defend themselves and you will not even make page 12 of most papers if you get involved.
