My guess is that it "disappears" instead of getting locked! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Not replying to you, Dave...I just couldn't find where this was said... If the god that exists is what many people believe him/her to be, then yes, they would need to prove themselves. Many people believe that "God" put us here for some great reason...that we actually have a purpose to be here. If God is putting us here for some reason that they won't tell us about, then the least they could do is prove themselves. This is somewhat of the reason I can't buy just one "God." I know that humans are no better than the rat in my backyard. We destroy the planet, we are selfish and greedy, we cause drama, we hurt other living things...we're pretty crappy. If God put some being here for some purpose, why would he have chosen us? That would seem silly. They should've picked something better than us. I am pretty convinced we have no real purpose in life. So, back to your question, if any of my good fortune has been due to some higher power, then I will thank them when I find out. Until then, I'm inclined to believe that the results I've had have mostly been due to my actions. While I believe in some other working force that we can't prove out there, I doubt it could care less about my doings. I'm not that special. I keep meaning to...this year, I might actually go! I don't want to make the drive by myself, but this year, another jumper told me that he planned on going...I should hitch a ride with him! How could I have forgotten that on my list? I might go for that first weekend...we'll see. Yeah, I already preregistered and purchased 10 jumps. That might be it for me...don't know yet... No, but I will get you extra altitude at the convention There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I'm not sure if I want to take off work to hit a dz that's within an hour of me...and I don't think they have any Skyvans coming in (yes, I'm obsessed with the Skyvan! ) I somewhat went to Richmond last year, and I'll have time/money to do Couch Freaks this year no matter what. Sigh....my guess is that I'll end up going to Convention for the first three days of it and maybe for the second weekend of it. I just don't know what to do with the time that I had originally planned to take for Rantoul....hmm...give me some ideas! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Somewhat....I have 18 days left for the rest of the year. It's a lot, but I still want more, and I still have to decide what to do with it. Maybe...I know I already have a ride set to and from the airport and a place to stay (best friend moves to Phoenix in a little over a month.) I was really wanting to do that, but it is so expensive to get out there. That was my first choice! As for camping at Rantoul, no matter what, there isn't a good solution. Camping in Tent City means crappy shower "facilities" and port-a-potties. Camping in the RV park means a long walk (I can't afford a golf cart) to the planes. Sigh....maybe I'll just use that time to take long weekends to places like NJ, Atlanta, or who knows where else? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

So, my dilemma....I don't know if I want to really go to the Convention this year...maybe just for a 3-day weekend or so...but not for the whole time. I'll state my case for/against the WFFC, let me know what you think, and fill me in on some alternatives. I really wanted to do Lost Prairie, but airline ticket prices are at about $500. Unless someone is driving from my way or if anyone has frequent flyer miles they want to give me, I don't think I can hit it this year. Reasons to go: It's 1 1/2 hrs from my house Eating, breathing, living skydiving for 10 days is cool Getting to see old friends Meeting the many people on dz.com Reasons not to go: I want to see something new I want something more laid back I want to go somewhere with better camping Nothing but skydiving for 10 days may make me burnt out The other thing I was thinking of doing was just road tripping for 10 days with no particular destination. I'd just aim in one direction and hit whatever dzs or cool interesting things I see on the way. Unfortunately, I don't have a camper, so to make that really fun, I'd have to borrow one (which I think I can do.) I'm all conflicted! Help! Well, I'm not a well-developed woman, but I do think that is a problem for me...my spine curves in a bunch.....I did learn to stand up straight with chest out...etc etc. My back just doesn't go straight! I'll have to find someone to work with me on that. Thanks for the great tip! I hadn't put too much thought into that...although I was wondering about my one weakness in gymnastics...handstands....wonder if that's related Thank you very much for the tips everyone. You might be right, Andrea, I may be concentrating on my body position too much. We'll see! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Congratulations, Piriya! Can't wait to jump with you eventually! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Yeah...I've tried that with a few people. Nothing seems to work! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

No, since there were many people with limited knowledge who feel the same way, it's not sensationalism. They never portrayed him as an expert. They said it was the guy's father before they even said the quote. You can disagree with it, but it's not sensationalism. I disagree with him as well. Chris, what you wrote was wonderful. It portrayed Roger's unmatched passion for the sport very well. While it's a shame that others won't be able to read that about him, I understand the reasonings behind your decision. It was a quote about what many people feel in the Chicago area. While it may be from a whuffo who has little knowledge of the sport, many other whuffos in this area have the same sentiment. The quote in which you were referring to was not sensationalism (I'm assuming that the guy's father is a whuffo.) I am disgusted, however, by other skydivers who obviously have knowledge of the sport running to the papers to add nothing but negativity and nothing of value. Ugh...I think it's time he lets his personal stuff go... There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I've tried everything with that...pinching my butt cheeks, pointing my toes outward...sigh...nothing works This is the part I just don't get. I have no idea of what it feels like for my torso to be vertical while headdown. I do that while attempting to flip headdown from my sit...still doesn't work. That's what I was afraid of! Anybody have any hidden tips or tricks for someone who just can't get it??? I really have no idea of what I'm doing wrong. I've tried so many times and I can't even get headdown....grrr.... Funny...you know what I meant! Nothing is ever my fault. I am perfect 95% There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I've tried everything! I can't seem to fly headdown at all! It seems weird and unnatural to me. On exit, I guess I "look for the ground" and that throws me out of whack. I dearch a bit too much and stick my butt out. What can this belly-flying girl do to learn headdown? Am I ueselss? Has anyone else had this many problems trying to learn it? I've tried so many times, and I'm getting so frustrated! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Your random thought sucks. Anyone going faster than you is a goal to reach for. My random thought of the day: beer and milk are best taken on an empty stomach. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Fun jumping with you Tomas! My tank did not have the necessary 12 gallons of gas last night:6:3 Beer owed for #500 (I think there's whip cream in my ears still ), first naked jump and first Lessons learned...do not lock a door unless you have all of your stuff...if you get locked out, make sure you can break in without neighbors noticing. Fill your gas tank up while you are sober and before midnight. The Skyvan can cause bruising. Never leave a credit card at a bar. EricaH learned to avoid wildblue's arms in the future. Those carrots really are hot! Today, I took my nephew to see Finding Nemo. Cute movie, and he loved it!

That sounds like fun, Michele! It also sounds like a great opportunity! Very cool! Well...you'll hear this a few times....warm up and stretch in the morning....most importantly...stretch AFTER you're done, too! Drink plenty of water...take care of your body (eat something during the day) Sleep! My other tip (this worked for me at Rantoul when I did almost too many jumps for my body to handle) is to use a packer (grasshopper comes to mind...

Congrats, Rob! My brother and sister-in-law just had their second son two days ago. Here's a pic! He looks just like his daddy as a newborn! A cute story...shortly after he (still nameless) was born, my nephew Robby was looking through the glass saying, "Baby!" Finally, he just shouted out, "My baby!!!"

Bump! Who wants to join me for #500? And I heard that EricaH will flash if she gets to do a raft dive (I lie....but, it might come true! you never know!) There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Yay! Summer is here! I'm taking ballet classes (haven't started those just yet.) I'm playing volleyball on the beach (that was SOOOO much fun!) I'm volunteering at the local crisis center. I'm going to start reading on the train again (I haven't done that in a few months...) I'm going to do some fancy shmancy flailing in the air on the weekends (mmm....Skyvan this weekend...) I'm going to Rantoul! I'm going to see Rusted Root and DMB! Work fits in there somewhere.... Adding on: I'm still working out, and the guy that I just talked to said I'd do alright in a race and I shouldn't embarass myself! I'm gonna try running a 5K soon! I love Chicago in the summer!

I've always wanted to tell male cops that the reason I was driving so fast was because I'm on my period and I'm bleeding all over the place. Guys get stupidly queesy hearing about tampons, blood, etc....I wonder if I could gross them out enough to let me go? I should've tried that with the last cop that pulled me over...now I have to take "Driver Improvement." Ick. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Why? Because pics weren't attached? No! They don't! Edited my last post because you all are a bunch of sickos! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
