    Condos

Okay, so some of you saw my other thread today about interviewing. If I decide to stay with this job instead of finding a new one, the one advantage is that I get a HUGE amount of money to buy a house/condo with. While that may seem like the greatest thing ever, it's not. I can't find any houses in my price range in the area they want to move me to. It looks like I'd have to buy a condo. I just have a few questions about condos. Would I still be throwing my money away as I would with renting? Do they increase in value very well? Are they easy to sell? I imagine a lot of this depends on the area, but I know nothing about condo shopping, so any advice would be great. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  4. Yeah, I think that's a major reason why newbies go into freeflying sooner. It is much easier to learn to sit than it is to learn some of the basic rw moves (well, for most people it seems.) I had a horrible backsliding problem that wouldn't go away. Some people sink out all the time. Others float away. To me, it's more apparent at first when you don't have rw skills than when you don't have freeflying skills. When you're a newbie and you float away, sink away, move far away from 3 people who are all linked together, it's obvious that you did something wrong. When you're in a sit and you just kinda orbit around others, it's not as obvious that they're chasing you because you're backsliding, you're floating, you're not in a full sit, or whatever. 5. It really depends on where you go, and it depends on what's going on. Yes, I've gotten screamed at for wanting to leave a dirt dive to get some sunglasses even though everyone wasn't there yet. But, I've also laughed my butt off with people because I was stupid and flew to the wrong side of a formation (ie, it wasn't a big deal I screwed up.) 6. I completely agree with this!!!! "Oh, freeflyers are so friendly and will jump with anyone!" I call BS! At ~100 RW jumps, I had no problems (except at Lake Wales) going anywhere and getting on jumps where I had to actually do something. I was allowed to move and stuff! At ~100 freefly jumps, I was always "the base." People would fly to me. I get really fed up with that. I even snapped at people for that. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  7. I like RW. Why? Because there's something so cool about sharing a really successful jump with 30 of your old/new friends. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  8. Thanks, Tomas! They wanna move everyone to Northbrook. I'll go if I don't find anything better, but it's a last resort. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  9. While the people with the big signs and pamphlets couldn't reach me, this did! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  10. Long story short: My company told us that they are moving us out of downtown Chicago into a suburb I do not like. I do not want to make this move for many reasons, so I am job searching. I just had a phone interview with a company. The first question asked was, "Do you know Todd?" Todd used to be one of my boss's boss, but he left a little over a year ago. He's now one of the VPs of some department at this company!
  11. Can we play "Guess Who?" There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  12. I know nothing about video editing, so if I don't like it, I won't say anything at all. I wouldn't be able to give good constructive criticism. If I say, "I like it!" even if it's just because I'm in it, I mean it!!! You've got a lot of great videos, Eric! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  13. I've dated skinny/bigger and short/tall. None of it really mattered to me. As long as the guy showers everyday, looks don't matter too much. All the guys I've dated were very intelligent and funny (only one had pink hair. ) There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  14. Yes, I think it was Desmond Morris who showed that the ideal proportion is the waist must be .7 times the size of the chest. Anything bigger or smaller is not as good according to men's instincts. Kate Moss and Marilyn Monroe both have that magical .7. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  15. I read this awhile back, and I kept forgetting to post it! Sorry if it's already been posted! http://news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,8696545%5E1702,00.html It's actually really sad. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  16. A picture of La Pedrera in Barcelona. This is one of the prettiest pictures I've ever taken. It doesn't hurt that the city and architecture is pretty on its own, though! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  17. Three more days!!!! So, if I put myself up on an auction block, that should bring in millions, right??? Any other dz.commer wanna go drunken hot tubbing?????? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  18. I bring frozen meals in to work because they're cheap, easy, and (besides the sodium) not too bad for me. However, I had been getting sick of frozen foods, and I started doing the fast food thing. Fast food started making me feel like utter crap, so I knew I had to eat healthy again. Then, after a long conversation with a coworker about Buffalo fries, the best idea ever hit me!!!! I brought in a bottle of Frank's Buffalo sauce, and I put that on all of my frozen foods! Now, they all taste really really good! My coworker went and bought some Frank's hot sauce, so we have a little variety going on here. Another coworker is bringing in some spicy garlic sauce. I'm not sure which I love more, Buffalo sauce or beer. Anyone else have any good lunch-in-the-cube tips? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  19. It was $16!!!! I'm a poor turbine snob!!!! You haven't checked the forecast, huh? You should come to the fundraiser instead! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  20. Okay, I'll probably go since I'd have to wait another 4 years to get tickets! I'll gladly take you on in a drinking contest! My vote is for beer, but whatever floats your boat! I'm worse sober! Hey...I don't have much goin' for me... There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  21. Mmm...entertainment for my boredom. How'd they know about my silk pjs???? I would say that it was pretty accurate except for the key lime pie thing. Ick. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  22. Man, Eric! Here I am...trying to impress everyone with my mad partying skills, and you go and blow it and give away my secret of being a pansy! I can still outdrink you. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  23. Good number:bad number:bad number I'm a turbine snob! So? So what??? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  24. I could get free tickets to go see this, but I would have to drive in to work, stay up way past my bedtime, and I doubt I would get much studying in that evening. I've heard great things about it, but I was just wondering if anyone here has seen it. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
