  1. I agree. The right to publicly state your opinions or beliefs is different from the right to pile it on higher and heavier, so that your message drowns out all other messages. Plain and simple - advertising/money wins elections. We all know those donations come with strings attached. In essence, it's buying influence. Some might even call it bribery.
  2. Maybe so. When I saw Polar Bears at the zoo (about 10 years ago), they were in a large enclosure, with a big swimming tank, which had an underwater viewing area. Those bears were having a big time, diving into the water, fighting over the different water "toys". They were much more dynamic than just sit on a concrete slab. It was pretty cool. So was watching the antelope run around and the young giraffes do what might be decribed as neck jousting. Entering a tropical aviary was pretty kick ass, too. So was viewing gorillas (just a few feet away) through glass. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps the same comparison could be made for seeing something in person versus seeing a picture.
  3. Ain't hindsight amazing stuff. I read about some survivors who held a door shut, while Cho shot through the door. Your claim that "No one tried to be a Hero" is complete BULLSHIT!!!
  4. One of the best postcards they sell in Banff is a picture of man on one side of a tree and a large elk on the other side. No doubt, they're wearing those little dinner bells everyone sells. It does add a little chlorine to the gene pool, though.
  5. While this my be true, what sets this situation apart from your run of the mill parents losing their cool was Baldwin's effort to maliciously wound his daughter... to really make her feel crappy about herself, as opposed to feel crappy about her actions. "You're a lowlife scum bucket" is much worse than "you really fucking pissed me off". I can remember getting chewed out numerous times when I was young, but I can't remember a single incident on par with Baldwin's outburst. Kim Basinger may be a world-class bitch, but that doesn't excuse Baldwin's behavior.
  6. How are they outdated? What makes them less relevant than in previous generations? because i like to think that as different forms of media progress, the need to keep animals caged up to see them doesn't apply anymore Because two dimensional pixelated images is the same as experiencing things in person?
  7. Sounds like you're a big fan.

  9. At best, this is a rather creative interpretation of what was actually written. Then again, most people would read it as a blatant lie.
  10. Maybe it's because they've grown comfortable having US military bases around, to watch over them.
  11. *patiently taps fingers on desk* Patient? 10 posts in the last 20 minutes? LOL
  12. Maybe they will endorse a state religion and impose unfair taxes and we will have to move away to another continent and use those gus to kick the shit out of them and declare independence. You left out shipping all the desenters off to gulags in North Dakota.
  13. asking a question that you find hard and uncomfortable to answer, isn't being a troll, it's hitting you with a few hard truths about the way you are Why don't you just go ahead an enlighten us. We can get it out in the open, cry ourselves to sleep and start a new day with "better" understanding about our flawed thinking, beginning a path to peace and harmony. Please help us help ourselves. Please.
  14. Wouldn't it be great if the judge ordered both of them to get "fixed"? It is the opinion of this court that neither of you are capable of anything remotely resembling decent parenting, therefore, to remove any chance of either of you ever procreating again, I order you...
  15. My, my, my... aren't we on a "let's bash Bush, even though the thread has nothing to do with him" kick. I didn't mention Bush. Was he your intended target?
  16. I'm sure the producers of Ocean's Thirteen (release date - June 8, 2007) are pleased as punch. Has anyone coined the term "Jumping the Sofa"?
  17. "Lauren Green is FOX News Channel's Religion Correspondent" I must have missed your point. Are you saying that religious people shouldn't have a voice in the media, or that any media that gives them a voice lacks credibility? News should be based on facts Religion is based on Faith. I don’t think we would want to receive are news based on peoples faith Are you familiar with our First Amendment?
  18. Why do you say an opinion piece, that examines what some Christian leaders are saying, shows Fox has zero credibility? I didn't. Why do you argue like Bill O'Reilly? Have you stopped beating your wife? Maybe I should have put a smiley at the end of my statement. I said "not zero" but more to the point, it was just a jab at FOX NEWS for being the source for this piece. But reading it again, is this article from their religion correspondent really an "opinion" piece? You said "not zero, but this commentary comes close". That certainly sounded like you were saying the piece somehow confirmed Fox's credibility was close to zero. Then you come back with "it was just a jab". Nice backtrack. And if you are gonna troll, don't get all bent if people call you on it. So what was the point you were making with that post? You seem to have a problem with that piece. What's wrong with it? What is wrong with Fox featuring it?
  19. What are you saying?... That Timothy McVeigh thought he was doing God's will? No...the most prominent man who thinks he's doing God's will these days hasn't ever had anything remotely resembling the mettle necessary to get near a combat zone. Blues, Dave My, my, my... aren't we on a "let's bash Bush, even though the thread has nothing to do with him" kick.
  20. Maybe not zero, but this commentary comes close http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,266860,00.html Why do you say an opinion piece, that examines what some Christian leaders are saying, shows Fox has zero credibility?
  21. My point is that these photos and video were nothing more than voyeuristic sensationalism, that did little (if anything) to give us new relevant information. At the same time, it was obviously offensive and considered inappropriate to many Americans. On a side issue, the growing trend of the media showing (possibly) objectional material may have a desensitizing effect on society as a whole. Then again, a fair number of people out there think concepts like societal norms, morality and standards of decency are simply repressive, with no positive aspects.
  22. I see. So showing dead people is the cut off? What a civil society we live in.
  23. Because it's offensive to a significant portion of the population. All it does is sensationalize what was already known. Back in July 2005, do you think it would have been appropriate for the BBC to air graphic footage of the of the mangle remains of the victims of the London subway bombing?
