    Why give Rush any consideration that he denies others? Because that puts you on the same moral/ethic level as you consider him to be. Are you okay with that? No. I don't like that this nonsense is considered newsworthy by many. I think it's crap. I think his show is crap. I think the knockoff shows are crap. I think the lefts attempt at the same crap is crap, as do most "lefties" which is why they don't do well. Stooping to the Limbaugh level is a move in the wrong direction as far as I'm concerned but if it just so happens that he occasionally gets his nosed rubbed in his own shit, I'm not likely to lose any sleep over it. If it was just the lefty talking heads pushing it, I doubt anyone would notice. But when our leaders in Congress start grandstanding - perpetuating a blatant lie - it takes this drama to a whole new level.

    While this would certainly help in breaking the cycle, what I think would help even more is institute mandatory birth control if you receive ANY public assistance; you want 'your' money, get in line and get your shot or no fucking $$$! Why is it that you need a license to catch a fish, drive a car, or be a ham operator, but ANYONE can procreate as long as they can figure out how to drop their knickers? Fortunately there is this short document called The Constitution... The Constitution says government handouts are unconditional?

Other forces try to influence policy, but the government makes the policy With the exception of "No Child Left Behind", the Department of Education has little (if anything) to do with determining curricula or educational standards. As an educator, I'd think you would know this.

    Just shooting from the hip here, but it seems like the US is one of the leading innovators due to what occurred in the last century. America was top dog in many regards, especially with products available to the average citizen... autos, TVs, suburban homes. It was a "can do" century for America. you can have it all. Having the cheap resources to drive this train didn't hurt, either. Our braintrust of innovators was fed by our continuing successes. Success means more money for R & D. Comparing the current decade to most decades of the last century, we're currently coasting... and I don't see anything on the horizon that's going to change that.
