Why do Atheist/Unbelievers always clash heads with Christians?
NCclimber replied to CameraNewbie's topic in Speakers Corner
But there's not a lot of argueing about the Florida/OSU game. -
Chavez wants to control everything in Venezuela

I can't stand the man, but from what I've read he's done a lot to provide for the poor in his country. To me, it all looks like government handouts, but to the recipients I'd bet it's viewed as manna from heaven. -
We??? What position you play?? How much game time did you get?? Did you score?? Exactly how did you contributite to the victory?? So Your team won a football game, And you think somehow a riot is justified?? I will never understand Sports Fans. I agree. What a fucking idiot. How 'bout them GATORS?!?!?! That was a good ole-fashioned ass whoopin'! Kiss my grits and don't let the door hit you in the ass! Amazing game. Who'd a thunk Florida would have given OSU such a shellacing? I'm not a big fan of blowouts, but it was amazing to see an underdog dominate the seemingly unbeatable Buckeyes. Congrats to Florida. My condolences to OSU and its fans.

Nine million... one quarter of a million. Are we splitting hairs here? I don't think so. Your claim of 9 million is the first time I've heard such a high number. I call BS. Have a source? I didn't think so. I haven't seen you offer a single one yet. Well, Einstein , you've only asked me for one... and you provided a credible link before I could reply. I saw no need to give you an answer you have already found for yourself. How about a site that (at least) tries to appear objective and neutral.... not one that opens with "The main thesis of this website is that Christianity is both untrue and harmful." No bias there. I couldn't find History of Christianity by Robertson.

Tsk, tsk. Don't get you panties in a wad. About the ACLU and NAMBLA: Is this what the Founding Fathers meant to protect with the First Amendment? -

Maybe "Christian haters" is a more fitting term. Are you familiar with the ACLU? What a STUPID comment. ACLU isn't trying to make Christianity illegal. Just preventing the GOVERNMENT from ramming it down our throats. I'm sure you can actually tell the difference. Tissue? Pamprin? Prozac? -

Apparently, the ACLU is all about free speech... as long as it's not coming in the form of dissent from its own board members. Then it's all about muzzling the bastards. -

There's no sense in trying to speak logically with people who make up gross misrepresentations, that even a moron can see are bullshit claims... and who claim "Oh. I was mistaken. At least I'm not a liar" when they get called on their bullshit. considering you're the one making the gross exagerations, I'd guess you'd think not. Does it matter if deaths related to the Trail of Tears was 4 or 4000? Only four indians died. What's the big deal? Yes it is relevant. But so is the overall number. blah, blah, blah, blah

Are you familiar with the ACLU? I looked on the ACLU website for their stated aims and nowhere did I see oulawing christianity as one of their goals. On the contrary, they seem to advocate freedom of religion along with all civil liberties. Perhaps I missed it, could you point it out to me please? After all I think facts are important and should be checked before drawing conclusions. I bet you couldn't find any mention of their defending NAMBLA on their site, either. -

I now see my post was lacking on key details, namely that the last several censuses have consistently shown net migration increases of African-Americans into the Southeast. Anyhow, my point was that if the Southeast is so racially intolerant, then why is it so increasingly desirable (especially compared to the rest of the US) for African-Americans?
-
That would explain why 60 percent of African Americans live in the South. As a percentage of the population, African-Americans in the South is twice the number for the rest of the US.
-
I'm still waiting to read about the 60 million men, women and children (that) have been burned, tortured, raped and killed for not bowing their knee to jesus How about it, sport????

Worried? Whatever.

Do you just make this stuff up? I ask because it seems like you regularly post complete lies. -
Your contention that the Holocaust was a Christian endeavor is clearly a fringe position. I don't think you'd find many historians (especially ones who are notably objective) who would support your take on this. So, we're left with 60,000,000 vs. a quarter of a million. One is less than 1/2 of one percent of the other. Hmm. What are you talking about? Are you saying that racial/religious hate crimes are currently the norm in the Southeast?

Many? Name one. Edited for clarity. -
WTF are you talking about? The Holocaust was aimed directly at *all* non-Christians. Non-Christians. Well.... except for all those non-Anglo Christians. It was against non-Christians. No? Wait? It was against 3 million Christians, too. Nice double speak Roman-Christian ethic? What are you talking about? Silly me. I always thought it was about ethnic/racial cleansing. Where do you get this stuff? Earlier, you were saying 15 million for the Crusades and the Holocaust, which was part of 60 million. Now we're down to quarter of a million. I'm not saying that number isn't significant, but it's a far cry from 60,000,000. This stuff is rich.

I love irony.

Officer to be Court Martialled for refusing to go to Iraq

Some contempt, not all. No pride? When did I write that? My service committment and the discipline I took from that have resonated throughout my life. Furthermore, it was my sacrifice, I can behold it any way I want. It's interesting that you consider your voluntary service, that did not involve any combat, to be a sacrifice. Why/how was it a sacrifice? -
So what is your point? Again, no matter how attractive someone finds religion, they still need to at the very least turn a blind eye to its logical inconsistencies (in a way they would not do for any other walk of life) in order to accept it as true. I don't understand how you are arguing that religion does not require an overriding of logic just because it is attractive? Don't use an analogy, just spell it out - what are you talking about? You know, Jakee, I would try to address these questions, if I thought you might actually consider my response. But from I've seen of your posts, relating to religion, mine would be a wasted effort.

I don't know where the 60 million figure comes from, but the Holocaust and the Crusades alone would encompass roughly a quarter of that number. So the Holocaust was a Christian endeavor? Was the Vatican in on it? Why were 3 million Christians killed? How many non-Christians do you think were killed during the Crusades? There's a lot of bad info out there.
