yeah, I am going to be cut off when I go back to the states. I have been drinking legally since I was 18, but I am only 20 and looking at a PCS back to the states... The one good thing about germany... very relaxed alcohol rations, and a drinking age of 18 and older for Americans... I know... but lets look at it like this... My family sleeps easy every night knowing that I am that guy behind the desk. And everyone in the field rushes into battle happily knowing that there will always be someone on the other side of that radio [sitting behind that desk] there to take their call for help incase they get over their head... So in a way. I am more important than any single person on that field. When I first came to Germany I got fucked up every weekend, sometimes twice a weekend. After six months of that, it can really tear you up. Now I only get drunk from time to time. Why is it then, that we got a lot of calls for AH-64's from those exact 11-B's? Why is it that if it wasnt for the CH-47's that carried the 11-B's out there, then they would have taken A LOT longer to get to where they were? 15's dont rely on the 11's, the 11's rely on the 15's! No, see you have 15Q [Air Traffic Controllers] that watch aircraft as they fly in and out of a specific airfield. They only care about that airfield. 15Ps on the other hand, deal with the individual aircraft and pilots through all parts of their mission. They have to go through us before getting full approval for their mission. We get their take off times and landing times for EVERY location they fly to. And we watch them on radar-like equiptment to make sure they fly where they are suposta and dont run into trouble. When deployed we also handled every medevac mission and QRF mission. If any soldier was in trouble on the battlefield, we could have an aircraft spooled and gone in no time. I'm a 15P [Aviation Operations Specialist]. I dont know yet where I am going. I just called branch and started trying to find out. Hunter Army Airfield is looking for people, which I really want to go there so I have my fingers crossed. Its like a 4 hour drive away from home so I could go home on weekends if something was going on. For a while he wasnt on TV because he was running his own gym downtown. Once that shut down, he started coming back some, then I gave up watching. I dont know how much air time he gets anymore. But his house is like the size of a 3 story, but its only 2. The living room, is vaulted all the way to the roof! Its amazing to go inside of. Hacksaw told me that if I ever saw a bunch of limos in the driveway to go stop by and meet some of the other wrestlers. Apparently he use to party with Sting and all them! We live in the "rich" neighborhood with all the amazing houses and everything. Even though we arnt rich. Hell, I found out last May that Hacksaws neighbor use to be Skydive Space Center's DZO! Apparently they use to have crazy ass parties over there too! I love my neighborhood. He is cool, he usually lets me pass out on the couch for the last 4-6 hours of duty, and then just wakes me up to tell me I am allowed to go. I am pretty young.. only been in the service for 2 years. But I have been thru a lot. First duty station, Germany. 6 months after getting here, I got deployed to Afghanistan. Out there in Florida, its a nice quiet neighborhood, not too many people bother him except little kids asking for autographs. Its also got a great school district for his two girls, and he has a BEAUTIFUL house.
