  1. http://www.brunobrokken.com/#/content/00%20New%20stuff/005%20Belize/IMG_7440Bruno%20Brokken%20Kopie%20Kopie.jpg/ Here are some photos Bruno Brokken took out at the Blue Hole. This one is me, Randy Pacheco and Wendy Reesor. Check out his website, he has jumped in some amazing places! I hope John and Valinda don't get mad when they realize we are all in Nicaragua, not Belize next March. (I'll have to straighten that out over a cold beer tomorrow at Lost Prairie.)
  2. No one offers tandems by the Tetons or Yellowstone Park. All of those companies are miles away.
  3. The Kodiak is up to about $1.5 million for the jump package. The wait time is very long for one. It only takes 12 comfortably. I went to the factory and looked a few over. They are pretty nice. A Caravan's little brother on steroids.
  4. Eat some spinach and pull your strings Olive Oil. Get a coach and a video camera. Jump, flare, land, repeat.
  5. I'll see you in Nicaragua for some DPH jumps!
  6. I have had the pleasure of jumping Angel Falls, many beaches in Australia, Mexico and the US...but there is nothing quite like stepping out of the plane 50 miles from shore over the Blue Hole in Belize. This year I opened at 13,000ft and flew slowly around taking in the sights. You could see for miles. I hope to join you in the Bahamas!
  7. A Lefty on Obama http://www.theblaze.com/stories/olbermann-scolds-obama-entitlement-cuts-a-betrayal-of-who-you-are/ Good enough?
  8. A really good guy and good poker player from Belize made the November Nine final table. Bob Bounarha plays poker with us at Pedro's Inn once in a while. http://www.poker777.com/20110726/november-nine-2011-a-surprising-qualification-of-a-native-of-belize.php Good luck!
  9. Really? He is willing to cut entitlements. That goes way against his base of supporters. Pay attention.
  10. Glenn Beck should be fired. He is a moron, and this is no different than a nappy headed ho comment. He really needs mental health help.
  11. There is one rotting away at Belize Intl. airport. You could get it cheap!
  12. America dead? Nope, but the Republicans are on life support...
  13. No president. None, will be able to create jobs in our new global economy. Corporations are sitting on almost two trillion cash.
  14. We have had a socialist nation for years. No one cared before Fox News started ramping up their attack machine against the president. Making corporations and wealthy pay a bit more. Not socialism. Reducing Medicare, medicaid, ss, not socialism.
  15. IIRC Jerry, he had a few other issues regarding his rigging errors and putting students on improper gear. Wasn't there almost 20 fatalities at his DZ back in the day, during his tenure as DZO? Chime in Northwesterners. Sorry Ohio peeps, we hijacked your battle of the DZ's thread. Maybe we should start a DZO's that have been arrested thread...naw, too much bandwidth would be taken up for that one...
  16. Ted Mayfield is an Army Special Forces veteran, former pilot, competitive skydiver, skydiving instructor, and ex-convict who served time for negligent homicide after several of his students died when their parachutes failed to open. His criminal record also includes armed robbery and transportation of stolen aircraft.[134] He was suggested repeatedly as a suspect early in the investigation, according to FBI Agent Ralph Himmelsbach, who knew Mayfield from a prior dispute at a local airport. He was ruled out, based partly on the fact that he called Himmelsbach less than two hours after Flight 305 landed in Reno to volunteer advice on standard skydiving practices and possible landing zones.[135] In 2006 two amateur researchers named Daniel Dvorak and Matthew Myers proposed him as a suspect once again, and attracted coverage from a Portland television station[136] and the syndicated program Inside Edition.[137] They claimed they had assembled a convincing circumstantial case that would be presented in detail in a forthcoming book. (Among other things, they theorized that Mayfield called Himmelsbach not to offer advice, but to establish an alibi; and they challenged Himmelsbach's assertion that Mayfield could not possibly have found a phone in time to call the FBI less than four hours after jumping into the wilderness at night.[137]) Mayfield denied any involvement, and repeated a previous assertion—that the FBI called him five times while the hijacking was still in progress to ask about skydiving techniques. (Himmelsbach said the FBI never called Mayfield.[138]) Mayfield further charged that Dvorak and Myers asked him to play along with their theory, and “we’ll all make a lot of money.” (Dvorak and Myers called any inference of collusion a “blatant lie.”[137]) Dvorak died in 2007,[139] and the pair’s investigation and book apparently died with him. The FBI has offered no comment beyond Himmelsbach's original statement that Mayfield, who still resides in Sheridan, Oregon, was ruled out as a suspect early on.[135] This is off of the DB Cooper Wiki site. And if you ask who DB Cooper is, well....
  17. I think Roger actually got it for tax evasion. Something about a few million dollars of gold buried in his yard. And let's not forget Andy Thornton. He went to skydiver heaven on some guy's driveway with 70 pounds of fresh-off-the-plane (literally) coke as his front bumper. Ruined an expensive pair of night vision goggles too, but since he went in with nothing out, I figure they didn't work all that well anyway. And how 'bout Bob "BoBo" Branch, who "rented his DC-3 out for the winter". Did a few years in the big house for that one. Of course these could all be part of the same novel, should it ever get written. How could you forget Dead Ted Mayfield.
  18. I go to a lot of parks with my 5 year old. The only good thing about the padding is that assholes can't hide razors or stuff their used needles in sawdust or sand.

  20. Crash landings at the prairie don't have much to do with the elevation. What do you expect with all of those uncurrent lumberjacks with rigs jumping with massive hangovers.
  21. Long time Northern California jumper and all around nice guy passed away this weekend after an extended illness. He always had a smile and a laugh ready for everyone he met. One of the good guys. Fly free my friend...
