  1. Maybe Cooper had a wet suit on under his suit. Cut off at the knees and arms like a "Shorty" of today. Maybe he had a different pair of shoes in his brief case. Along with a compass and some road flares that looked like a bomb. There probably would have been some reward money, so why go to the trouble of burying him if found? Think of the story you could sell. And I asked a few threads/posts ago. Wasn't there a "He never jumped and hid on the plane" theory?
  2. My heart sank when I got the call last week. We used to do night jumps together as the "Moon Brothers". We would put glow sticks out of all of the holes in a Pro Tech helmet, looking like a lit up punk rocker. Jerry made me laugh so often, telling some pretty funny SEAL days stories. He always asked about taking the fire dept. test, and I encouraged him to do so and get out of the war business. I heard his death was unconfirmed and I so wanted this to not be true... Fly free Moon Brother...
  3. Hooper is just mad Scotland Yard isn't in the loop!
  4. Ask your dad... That's what my kids do when mom says no!
  5. Was the 10,000ft AGL or MSL? Wasn't there a theory that he never jumped and hid in the plane? Did the flight attendants look at a picture of each of the main suspects such as Mayfield right after the hijacking? Could the container he was wearing stand up to 200mph exit speed and very unstable exit without getting blown open? There used to be a jump pilot at Perris years ago from the midwest that said he knew a jumper named "Don Broyles", or something like that was Cooper. He was POSITIVE about it! And over the years many other jumpers have had theories on who did it! Don't lock this thread or branch it off...it's way too interesting as it is! Especially to us older farts!
  6. Beer, Bonfire, Boobs, Bullets....usually works out pretty well!
  7. Wuffos love reading them until they come to the incidents section and the full page ads on the back page sending love out to our dead friends...
  8. The draw? To jump in Mexico with friends in the winter. Expensive jumps? Maybe they have to bus or boat to the manifest after landing. Maybe fuel is a bit pricey. Maybe the locals needed some payola. Outrageous boogie fee? Not hardly. And no, I'm not going, but wish I was...
  9. Orange1, I wasn't even referring to any DZ.com theorists. Just the folks like Jo, many I'm sure, that have "evidence" or suspicions about someone, be it Mayfield, the Easter bunny or Mighty Mouse. The "Unabomber" was turned in by his brother, and there were lots of internet chats on various websites about him for years. And as far as the DC-9. I want to be self serving and fly up on it with Pat and enjoy the festivities! But I would really be interested in what a high speed exit would do to a jumper lashed with some dough. Could the airspeed blow open his container type on exit????? And the FBI has wasted far more money on way stupider things than a hijack re-creation that they could sell to FOX TV for BIG $$$$$'s!
  10. Now what fun would a 182 jump be? And I want to see if the lashed money comes flying off at 200mph!
  11. If the FBI wants to really solve this once and for all it will require a large budget and a few months. Interview the entire flight crew. Again. Stage the jump out of Perris Valley's DC-9 at the estimated speed and location. Throw out a number of dummies that open at different altitudes. Comb the area with a large number of search and rescue types. Again. Sit down with people like Jo, the mayfield camp, etc. that have claims of proof. Listen with an open mind. Sift through ALL of the bull. Check out Canadian DZ oldtimers. There seems to be a lot of wrong preconceived notions about this heist from the FBI's point of view. It might not solve anything, but it would be a hell of a lot of fun!
  12. We'll miss you INSANEDADDY! I just had a cancellation. Two slots are now open.
  13. Thanks Jan, So let me get this straight. They are going to try to boot you out, but don't have the common courtesy to speak with you about it in person. No reason given, just go...gutless and classless by the board. Maybe this will stir up a bit of a hornets nest and get more jumpers involved. It's time to take USPA in a new direction. And yes, I vote and speak with my RD on MANY issues affecting the membership each time we speak. What help do you need from us, the USPA membership?
  14. "You can always tell a skydiver...but you can't tell 'em much"!
  15. Maybe Jan will post here as to what is going on. That would set the record straight, and stop speculation.
  16. How many USPA members died outside of the US in 2007? 2006?, etc. Were all 18 fatalities in 2007 full USPA members?
  17. I gave out "Blue Hole" numbers to the first group to ever skydive into and then SCUBA dive it in Belize. Myself, Janet and Fred Lundquist, Randy Pacheco, Doak Smith, Andy Harris and Derek Parker from the US and Steve Moore from the UK. Mike "Splash" Robinson didn't get a number, even though he was on the load. He went front float, but his special quick release chest strap set up came undone and he had to do a solo, missing out on the photo op of a lifetime! Andy Farrington did an amazing job shooting the video! www.skydivebelize.com The video and still shot.
  18. The boogie is booked solid. Thanks everyone! See you in Belize!
  19. Do any of you have an e-mail for Martin Evans and Tracey E.? The last I heard they were at Delmarva. And no...they don't owe me money or anything,I just haven't seen them in ages. Thanks!
  20. Were any Canadian DZ's looked into? Canadian military, or jumpers? Just a late night off the wall thought...
  21. When I first jumped in 1980 I never imagined the plane could crash on take off, or I could get wrapped up in the tail of it on exit. Like nearly everyone else on their first jump, I was just worried about that parachute opening. Since then I have had a wonderful time in the skydive world. Some of my dearest friends are fellow jumpers. But like many of you that have been around a while, who knew this sport would take so many people we loved away in some terrrible ways. So yeah, I knew I could frap, but didn't know in how many different ways. And I think many of the low timers have no clue as to the risks, as witnessed by some complacent attitudes, until they see it with their own eyes. And I think many of the "experienced" have a "it won't happen to me" syndrome. Would our sport die if we put the real facts out on the brochures?????
  22. Current and safe and you're in with 400!
