  1. Wow, great reminder to do a good pin check and do them often... Gave me a chill seeing it. Thx for posting that.
  2. Optima in my helmet AltiTrack on my wrist. Love my Alti!! I don't download to my PC nearly as often as I should, but it's a great recording device. Next up I want to get a GPS to play with too.

Is my new raptor in that stack somewhere...
  5. I don't think the reason that it does not fire under 130 has to do with it not having time to open. It's for swoopers I believe the first answer is actually the correct one. "Below approx. 130 feet (approx. 40 meters) AGL opening is no longer useful. For this reason, CYPRES ceases operation below approximately 130 feet AGL." -- Cypres 2 User's Guide p 10 (and stated similarly in the Cypres "1" guide) Seriously?
  6. I don't think the reason that it does not fire under 130 has to do with it not having time to open. It's for swoopers so they don't get killed while ripping off that swoop and having it fire in that area. Hence the reason for two versions of the cypers as well...
  7. I think that I'll just shut up now... I don't want my attitude to be a part of this discussion at all. I don't ever look at anything like my AAD or RSL as being a replacement for pulling silver when the time is needed!
  8. The Cypres only cuts the reserve closing loop! It does not deploy the reserve as a Skyhook or DRx system does during a cut away. By cutting the loop it allows the spring loaded pilot chute to come out hopefully... beyond that a Cypress does not actually ensure that a reserve will be deployed.
  9. [ soap box ] One year ago, I was sitting at something like 150 jumps and found out that Scott G. was going to be coming in 6 weeks to do a FFC and wing suit weekend at my home DZ. There were a couple of guys that said I'd be fine, don't worry about it... I PM'd Scott and talked to him and he asked me a few questions and said we'll see. I did more reading and long story short, by the time Scott showed up 6 weeks later, I'd met the 200 jumps in the past 18 months requirements and there were no questions. I got to make 6 or 7 WS jumps that weekend. That 200 goal was the carrot that drove me to get'r done. Having had two interesting WS jumps in 29 that spun me up to the point my risers were crossed and having almost chopped it twice in a WS now, I'm glad that I waited. I'm glad that I spent more time learning to track and learning present and fly my slots on RW jumps better. I'm glad that I'd seen some hard core line twists and the like before I was there in a WS see it for the first time. I'm still so new that I don't know yet what I don't know, but I do know that I'm learning and I feel like a good foundation to build on and learn from was laid by waiting and making myself 'work' for it to get there, rather than starting earlier. I waited until after 200 to put a camera on for the first time too... I do appreciate Scott G & C, Chris, Sean, Jeff, Marion and all the others that have been coaching me, and teaching me. I listen when they say to try this or do this or do that. I really want to learn a LOT more and I want to see WS'ing become more popular and safer at the same time. [/ soap box off ] PS. I'm selling my Acro to fund a new WS btw if anybody is wondering...
  10. Thanks, I'll go read up. Should have known it would be up here already. I'm sure there is some good info to be learned from that thread!
  11. Guys, Anybody seen this video? He or somebody else claims that his right wing is caught in his right riser... how the hell does that happen? One hell of a scary looking mal all the same.
  12. Will dealers such as yourself be able to do these installs, or does it have to go back to Mirage?
  13. Do you have a mock up at your DZ? If so I'd recommend getting with your local instructors and going over the exit with them. They are really in the best position to help you! There is nothing wrong with seeking advice here, but nothing IMO is better than talking to your local instructors. Hell, I still talk to my AFF instructors and get advice all the time. One of them does not drink beer, so a Diet Coke is in order from time to time...
  14. Holy shit, that's tight!! Dam that looks like fun, very nice, thanks for the video!!

    Intro

Got to see the Intro in action a Skyfest a couple of weeks ago, the pilot there had NO problems keeping up and flying in the flock.
  16. *snicker* that could be good video too!!
  17. Snicker... you kill me John. I agree though, at least spin it out in front of the tandem's camera guy so that there is good footage of it!!
  18. Ya my advice will be sure to kill you... I was only commenting to the 20 ws jumps and swooping tandems and being bored. Sounds like you answered that too though... Good luck!
  19. did you search on this subject? also, swooping tandems at ~20 ws jumps?? Do you have any other wing suit pilots at your DZ? Maybe you would have more fun flocking...
  20. Thanks Rob, that was a great explanation, do appreciate it!!
  21. Dam that's fast!! Was that a test or a real life use? Is the DRX a one time use like an AAD squib or is it something that can be reloaded after a cut away?
  22. Check out DSE's company, they make a killer instruction video for Vegas. I use Vegas and love it, great program and the instruction DVD is worth it's weight as they say!!
  23. I put the paper azz hole on my goggles, threw the helmet on my head and used my wifes azz to center mine. Worked well too... hehe, I still have that video around somewhere I think.
  24. I sure am glad you are on here and posting Bill. I was thinking it as I was reading down and about to post something and then I saw your post... anyway, thanks for the time you put in on these boards!! BK
