Hey everyone. I just received the dates for 2001 Flyboyz Film Festival. September 7 - 9 at Perris Valley Skydiving. I will fill you in with all the details as I get them. Hope to see everyone there this year. Rhonda

I had a situation two summers ago where I was at a dropzone that I had never jumped at before. There were high winds that day and lot's of dust devils. I made the decision to stay on the ground because I knew I didn't have the experience to jump in those winds even though many people were still jumping. Later in the day, the winds died down and I decided to make a jump. On the ride to altitude I noticed that the wind had picked up and I was a little concerned. Several people on the plane, including my husband, assured me that it would be ok and that I could handle it and so I decided to jump. Well, I ended up crashing and breaking my femur but the thought to sue the DZ or anyone else NEVER EVER EVER crossed my mind. It was my decision to jump. Even though I was told it would probably be ok, it was still my decision to go or not to go. I chose to go. I fucked up and got hurt. My fault. No one elses. PERIOD! We all know the risks everytime we step out that door. Just my 2 cents. Rhonda

I don't have anything at this moment, but I may have something in the next couple days. I'll keep you posted. Rhonda

IFlyMe, About the shooting thing. It was blown way out of proportion and has something to do with the stuff that is going there that is detailed in the article here on Dropzone.com. No one was hurt. Someone had a tire on their truck shot out. And that's about all I can say about it without getting into trouble. Rhonda

No Iflyme, I've never been up there but I hear it's beautiful and I would like to come up sometime this summer. Maybe I'll see you then. I'll let you know. I'm a Seattle transplant brought here by some large software company just a few years ago so I haven't had a chance to explore much up that way. We often get vistors at Kapowsin from there. Rhonda

I'm from sunny Seattle (hahaha I crack myself up!) and my home DZ is Kapowsin (when I'm jumping: long story, bad landing, broken femur, yada yada yada) but I hang out atPerris whenever I get the chance. I've made lots of friends down there so I go at least every other month even though I'm not jumping now (my husband jumps). Rhonda

Oh yea. You want to know what kind of stuff we really have to deal with up here, read the article about Kapowsin Air Sports. There is a link on the front page of dropzone.com. Now that's some messed up stuff!!!

No problem. I guess we've all had experiences like that. Like the BIG bald dudethat tried to french kiss me at Perris one time. My husband got a big kick out of that!! Rhonda

Ok. I'm more than a little offended by the hairy women remark. I live in WA because my career brought me here and I am not hairy. I love Southern California too and I spend lot's of time there when I can get away.

If you get a chance to talk to Mike, ask him to give you some pointers. He's an awesome coach and a hell of a nice guy. You should also consider getting some coaching jumps. Dusty is a great coach too and tons of fun. Rhonda

Hey Floater, Do I know you? You live in Bellevue and jump at Kapowsin. Are you pretty new to Kapowsin? I haven't been around much lately. Winter months you know. I'll probably be there for safety day taking pictures. Rhonda

I'm in Seattle. Well Redmond. I was in my office at Microsoft this morning when it hit. The building was swaying pretty good. Pretty freaky. There doesn't seem to be too much damage here. Just a few cracks in the walls and things fallen off of shelves. I got a report that no damage done at Kapowsin Air Sports. This was my first Earthquake. CASE OF BEER I know I know. Rhonda
