  6. Note - if any readers went down on President Clinton and are offended by the joke, please post a reply and I will apologize. Hey that's offensive to me because I voted against him in the first place! I should not have to read the sordid tales that the hussies around here would post just for sick notoriety!
  7. ............................................................ I posted one on the bad jokes thread trying to offend as many people as I could to bring some since here! Congrats and read my thread there!
  8. ok there was this blonde Ethiopian Jewish lawyer in an Irish Catholic whorehouse surrounded by southern redneck homosexuals with the assistance of the yankee lesbian biker trailer park trash squad..... OK did I offend everyone here a little? Stupid brunettes withstanding Latino lovers....This is the "bad joke thread" If you're thin skinned, maybe you should look elsewhere. Because of one joke admittedly in poor taste, and even putting a disclaimer before it is thinking of quitting our sport because we are so thin skinned! Remember this is the BAD JOKE thread I should be really offended because all of my fellow frogs that gave their lives in blenders! This is not a politically correct discussion so get over it!
  9. That was a figure of speach. If I email Doris at Sun path will have a response usually within an hour. I was not flaming about Mirage, merely disappointed. end of discussion.
  10. QuoteI've never had a problem with my xaos but I've heard of them doing bad things. Mine is a 125 so maybee extra square footage helps with stuff like that -i dunno. Were the xaos's that you've seen collapse during a recovery arc production models or early prototypes, super high wind? My Xaos 21 85' was one of the first production models made. It still had Dyneema (Mini-Spectra)lines untill recent hma reline. I have flown this canopy in 30mph turbulant wind with no problem loading @ 2.3/1. The openings are much nicer than the Velocity's I demo'd. The riser pressure is also lighter. I liked the Velocity demos and the openings were usually just scary to watch. The end cells would often touch bow tying in the middle. The PD guys were using HMA lines much smaller than the Xaos and this is why the lines didn't last over 100 jumps.
  11. if I thought I needed to phone them, then why have a web site, sorry! I have nothing against them other than ...no reply! I would by a mirage if i got a response!

"I'm gunning down Romance. It never did a thing for me but heartache and misery." Amber PCSS#9 I'm glad that you are getting a better response than me!!!!!!

  18. My appologies having to deal with the people there at Mirage! I sent an email about a week ago and have yet to hear a response on my looking for info on a second rig! Sizing questions! Had I called the Javelin people, I'm sure that I would have heard back the same day,PIA or not! I am in the wholesale business and am aware of national shows and can ALWAYS get an answer during shows! I am still waiting! THAT IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE![maAlthough I want to purchase a mirage, their lack of response is sending me back to a responsive manufacturer!
  19. Oh, I'm sure they do. I think I'm paying for a few of them to go through college. I just keep mine in a mobile home with food on the table, can't let the critters starve!
  20. I look at it less as a money issue and more as a quality of life issue. I have a fairly new Sabre 2 170. It's really hard for me to get that thing in the bag! I come out to the dz to have fun, not to do manual labor. In the sticky, FL humidity I have here, it is soooo worth the money to me to consider my jumps being $24 (I always tip) instead of $18. I can appreciate this as I'm sure that your packer does. I pay $15 a jump and typically make 6-9 jumps aday on good weekends so that adds up quick. I do get a couple of pack jobs a weekend just for a break and bonding for when I NEED a packer (time, dirt dive,etc.). Sometimes packing for me is quiet time to go over what went on during the dive. A little personal debriefing!
  21. I went from a Xfire 1 99' toa Xaos 21 85' although I did put over 400 jumps on the Xfire in less than a year. If you can find a similar sized X braced canopy it will definetly give you a better understanding of the flight differences. The X braced canopy although being slightly more ground hungry than your Xfire, is a diving machine when you turn them and depending which one you try as to how long the recovery arc. Things I would do on my Xfire loaded 1.87/1, I need over twice the altitude on my Xaos loaded 2.3/1. Be careful, these are spectacular and fun canopies but they have 0 conscience! A low mistake on these, is unforgiving at best, even though flown very conservativly is actually easier to land in open areas than the Xfire, they will eat up some room in full glide. Having had to land a very small one with one toggle stuck in brakes, it wasn't fun but I walked away. Some wouldn't have been as fortunate.
