Actually we've had our schedule for a few months. It's been on our website since December. I just hadn't posted it here. Who's rude now? You guys are funny. Oh, hello again!

Spaceland Anomaly (formerly Esmoodie) is putting together a tunnel camp specifically for freeflying this spring. We'll be working with Juliana and Fabian, two of the best tunnel flyers in the world. They will provide all the coaching, and I can promise you its worth it. The tunnel rats even come watch these two when they're in the tunnel! We're arranging the financials for the trip, but we're getting some dirt cheap time, VERY reasonable coaching rates, hotel and airfare prices together. We're really excited about this and want to see if any DZ.commers would be interested. We'd schedule the camp for the night shift during 3 weekdays (better rates, cooler air). Everyone would get full coaching and 3 hours in the tunnel. Would anyone be interested? We haven't set dates, just getting a feel for how many people would REALLY do this. Oh, hello again!

Right now it looks like the first meet will move to the end of the competition. The weather's been too crappy lately to let people really work on things. There will definitely be people jumping this weekend since I think everyone's jonesing pretty bad. Ted, remember, you only need one person to jump with. We can do video for you. Spread the word if you would. The prizes will make it worth competing for sure. Oh, hello again!

Each compulsory round will have three (3) drawn moves and one drawn exit. 5. Each team consists of three (3) flyers, two performs and one video. Video will be provided to those teams with only two members (at slot cost). 6. Minimum requirements are: - Freefly safe gear - Hard helmet - At least one altitude indicator (preferably two) - Compliance with all BSR's and Drop Zone Policies 7. Winners of each meet based on handicap/improvement scoring, not raw scores. 8. Meets will run Thursday through Tuesday of each listed meet, allowing more teams to compete. 9. Prizes will be awarded to most improved teams at the end of the season. Scoring Scoring will be based on your team’s ability to fly together. Factors such as proximity, smoothness, and timing (performing moves at the same time) will be MORE important than the number of points turned in each round. At the completion of the 4 Spaceland Freefly League meets, overall winners will be determined not only by their cumulative points, but also on their total improvement over the 4 meets. This scoring is designed to help competitors focus on improving their freefly skills and doing things smoothly and properly to better develop good fundamentals. Your team must must turn in video of all 3 rounds (2 compulsories, 1 free round) in at least 3 meets to be considered as an overall winner. For more information, contact Stevie, Jed, or Trent IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO COMPETE, PLEASE COME TALK TO US!!! We may reschedule the first meet for weather. It will be moved to the end of the competition. Video will be provided to teams that do not have 3 people. There will be both sitfly and advanced groups. All competitions are geared towards preparations for the US Nationals and the Texas Freefly League. We do have sponsors for this competition. Overall winners will get some great prizes. Trust me. Oh, hello again!

Just wanted to let you guys know: We're doing our freefly league here again. This will be a great way to develop skills and speed for the Texas Freefly League. Just like last year, we only require attendance at 3 of 4 meets to be considered for overall winners. Our structure will be more geared towards preparations for national competition: 2 speed rounds and 1 free round each meet. You don't have to have a video flyer, as we can provide that for you. Come check it out. Although the first meet is scheduled for this weekend, we may move it to the end of the schedule because of the recent weather. Here ya go: Spaceland Freefly League Meet #1: February 20-23 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #2: March 20-23 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #3: April 24-27 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #4: May 22-25 Would any of you be interested? We wanna feel out how many teams may compete. Oh, hello again!

Thanks, Wendy! Just when I thought we all couldn't just get along! Oh, hello again!

I am an American. I love my country. I think that the US does more good than harm, and generally has its heart in the right place. Am I a patriot? Maybe... depends on which definition you use. Would I say that I am just as patriotic as someone who decided to serve their country by putting themselves in a situation that more than likely would get them killed? No. Would I belittle what men and women of the armed forces HAVE done for the US and many other countries and people by saying that I am JUST as much a patriot because I can read documents that support my opinions and bicker about it in an "educated" manner on a website forum? Never. No matter what your definition... you and I are not on equal footing with someone who chose to stop talking, reading, and bitching and actually take action for what they beleived in. You have to take any argument here with a grain of salt. Sure some people really disagree on the issues, more likely I think most people would be bitching no matter what was going on. It gives them something to do. PS- If I hear any BS about what my definition of "action" is, I'll puke. Oh, hello again!

When we left Monday, a 24-way official record was set. Goat's right, the weather blew ass... but it was great meeting so many people that I always wanted to jump with. Check www.skydivespaceland.com for our calendar. I think we've got some Texas Bigways comin... if it isn't there... it will be soon. Oh, hello again!

I've lived in France (since we somehow got on the subject). I have a few good friends in France (as if that will help qualify my statement). I can pretty much say, from experience, that French people seem to like making a sport of nitpicking American culture. I just laughed and said no one was perfect. The best part is, I had lunch with some co-workers who were really fired up about us ignorant Americans. The only time they stopped telling me how bad my country is, was to bite into their Le Big Mac. Oh, hello again!

You didn't recognize us? Big group of guys wearing green, Paris, marching around, 1940's? You seemed happy then? Wierd. But doesn't that open a whole can of worms? Oh, hello again!

" OH, you're FRENCH??? I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you without your hands over your head!" Oh, hello again!

Hey guys, that's right... Stevie's finally turning 22. We'll be jumping and kicking his ass all day this THURSDAY the 23rd. Why don't some of you come out and help us beat on him, pie him, and get him really drunk?? Most importantly, we'll be jumping all day. Skip work, come out. Stevie will graciously accept all cash and high value gifts you'd like to bring! See you here! Oh, hello again!

What are you doing on the Freefly forum dad?? Getting bored with belly? Good. Anyway, the ball did move quite a bit. Definitely use the 8 9 or 10 steelshot since lead puts the ball at 170mph. The tail length that came with our ball was too long and seemed to really cause the ball to wobble and move. We're still working on getting it right. I'll post all the good stuff later. Remember though, if you shouldn't be jumping a Spaceball, you still shouldn't jump the Vladiball. It may be a little safer if you lose it, but it definitely takes more attention while stowing it after a jump. BE CAREFUL! Oh, hello again!

We've had a demo Vengeance here at Spaceland for several months. A bunch of us have jumped it, and we've all loved it. If your canopy is quirky by manufacture, by all means, send it back. Some things I found out that helped get me on-heading openings almost every time: 1. Dump Stable (duh) 2. When I push the nose back in, I make SURE that the center cell is the farthest out, then each cell is a little farther back. Seems to keep the thing inflating center first. 3. Fly the openings with your hips. Stay square, but if it starts to go somewhere, I can usually get it back on heading. By the way, it's a 107 loaded at 1.72. I also went ahead and ordered Vengeances from PD for myself. Oh, hello again!

what would you say is the cheapest FreeFly friendly container?
Trent replied to Rookeskydiver's topic in Freeflying
There are a LOT of great rigs on the market right now. Some rigs are expensive, some are less expensive. When you buy a car, do you just go out and say "I want the BEST, most expensive one, cause it's BETTER!"? No, you buy whatever car gets you the most for your money. I'd definitely say that the Wings containers stand out as the highest-quality and most affordable rigs out there. Yes, my team is sponsored by Wings. Yes, we did have other options when considering sponsors. We still chose Wings because of the quality of their product, the enthusiasm of their staff, and the fact that I have NEVER met an unsatisfied Wings owner. Why pay $1500-$2200 for a rig when you can pay a LOT less for a rig that is just as solid and safe, if not more so? Sometimes, it doesn't make any sense. I've jumped (for at least 50 jumps) Javelin, Mirage, Vector, Infinity, and Talon and each of them have their own little nuances and things that I didn't like. No rig is perfect, but I can say that I have yet to find something I DON'T like on a Wings. Oh, hello again! -
I don't know what the VHS looks like, but the DVD has a few problems. First, the compression is high so the quality isn't. Then you don't have the ability to skip through each teams rounds. You either watch the whole section or fast forward like on a tape. If the VHS is higher video quality then I'd go for that one. Just so you know A LOT of footage is missing. There's only 3 or 4 of the intermediate freefly teams on there, and in the open some of Alchemy is missing and all of Monkey Claw is missing. But these aren't Tim's fault. Suckas just didn't download their video. Anyway, that might help you if you want to buy it. Trent Oh, hello again!

This is a funny story about a guy fucking with these mildly-retarded, all CAPS using Nigerian numbnuts. http://www.thespitefulmutt.com/archive_spamscam1_intro.htm Oh, hello again!

Ted, I think they're called "Flight Comfort Engineers" or something like that now. Stewardess will get you into some trouble! Oh, hello again!

Carving can be tricky to learn, but there are a couple of things that you can practice before going straight to a carve. The first thing is a side slide: You want to have more drag on one side of your body that the other. You can do this by applying more pressure on the OUTSIDE of your leg (on the side you're sliding away from), and by taking a little arm out of the side you're sliding towards. With practice, you'll be able to do this with just legs. Now you can add the element of the slight forward drive. You can lay back with the legs a little to get enough drive that would let you take a dock with your buddy, but since you've thrown in the side-slide, you'll just orbit around him. As you get better doing this slowly, you'll start to feel that your entire body is kind of acting like a single blade on a propeller. You anlge your body not only to drive you forward, but also to turn to the right or left (depending on your carve direction). This position will allow you to perform faster, flatter carves. In the end, your arms will simple act as part of your body that is creating this angle, which is why you'll see people with their arms on their sides during a nice, laid out carve. Hope that helps! Glen, He leg-locked me so that we were faced off. That way he could keep my feet down and counter any spin with his arms and torso. *sigh* seems like it was so long ago..... Oh, hello again!

This video sucks! The editing is awful, the video quality is worse, and the subject matter is lame. Very little of what was promised on the box was in the video. Not worth a cent of your money... you can find better clips online. In fact, there's one scene where it just shows whoever made this "video" shooting a 4-way. That's it. Nothing happens. WHO CARES!? And it definitely was not edited on Premiere, unless they shot all their footage with VHS recorders. I'm glad I didn't spend my money on this crap. Oh, hello again!

Yeah, Omar's real good about that... I remember when I was just learning to sit, I had maybe 50 jumps or so. I was up at manifest in Eloy getting on another solo to work on my sit. Omar comes up to me and asks me what I'm doing, I tell him, he says "well, mind if a few of us join you?". I told him I sucked, so he said not to worry about it and that he'd hang on to me so I couldn't cork. Anyway, it turned out that almost all the bad-asses at Eloy were on that jump. And it was fun as hell! That was a good day. Oh, hello again!

Training is what sets almost all world-class athletes apart. If there were a standard way to measure the performance of freefliers, Alchemy might not be the best... but they had the creativity to think up those moves, the discipline to train relentlessly, and the talent to make it look really good. Training takes you from being a talented flyer, to a flyer that has discipline and fantastic fundamentals. Tons of people have talent, few have the drive to hone that talent to make them the best. Oh, hello again!

This is an OLD Deguello rig. Parapack Javelin J1, stolen with related reserve and black and white Sabre.
