I thought it was interesting how a lot of these "peace protests" around the world turned violent. Probly cuz THE MAN was trying to keep em down though, not that they're hypocrites. Oh, hello again!

On bigger freefly formations, it is very beneficial to turn 180 to clear the space behind and above where you'll be tracking. This is especially important if you are on an inner piece of a formation or when you can't see everyone who you know is on your dive. Most of the time, we backtrack for the first seconds of our breakoff, then roll it over to track normally. When I leave a group or formation, I know who was in front of me when it was time to breakoff, and by backtracking for a few seconds, I can see who is behind me and where they've decided to go. Oh, hello again!

The 3 of us from Spaceland Anomaly will be there organizing with Brian Germain. I can't wait to jump with a million people in 10 days. Okay, not a million, but a whole lot and stuff. Oh, hello again!

We're down to 3 available slots. Don't hesitate to ask about this camp. You can't go wrong. Juliana and Fabian will take good care of you!! Oh, hello again!

My point in posting was not to use the dead of World War 2 to argue about the current situation. My point is that some Europeans seem to forget or take for granted that we have paid in blood for many countries' freedom. It also seems that some Americans have forgotten that. Damned if we do, damned if we don't... guess we just have to decide what we think is the right thing to do. Oh, hello again!

Maybe I'm naive, but I honestly feel that the US would help defend France if need be. Sure our government and people make mistakes, but no matter what opinions we have, I beleive that our hearts are in the right place and we try to do the right thing. Call me crazy... Oh, hello again!

I vote for the Dune series. A lot of reading to do, but it's really fantastic. Actually, it's quite a propos for the current times too. Check it out. Oh, hello again!

Yes, it is sad to see that. It is sad that there are a lot (not all, but a lot) of people in France who have forgotten or just don't care what our grandparents and great grandparents did during World War 2. It makes me sad how soon people can forget, or how easily they can ignore things like that. But that's okay, because some of us will never forget that so many people died fighting for something as noble as that. I'm sure that we won't let our children forget either. These men are heroes. That simple fact will never change, no matter what happens in the future. The best thing about America is that if France were attacked tomorrow, we'd be there to fight alongside her again. It's not about who we agree with all the time, it's about what is right. Oh, hello again!

http://www.protestwarrior.com/ This site is great. Funny as hell, and super appropriate to refute some of the ridiculous protest slogans. I'd love to give these posters a shot at a protest. Oh, hello again!

EVERY MINUTE OF IT WILL BE COACHED. Your hotel is included in this price. All rooms are double occupancy. And finally, the cost: Barring any unforseeable changes... $1,583. We have a maximum camp size of 6 people. 2 slots have already been reserved. DON'T WAIT!! Any questions or if you need more convincing, e-mail me at trentalkek@yahoo.com. Oh, hello again!

I've gone to three --10yrs, 15 yrs and 25 yrs and they were all a lot of fun. I don't get a chance to see old friends except at the reunions so it is good to catch up. The surprising thing I notice is that the people don't really change very much. A lot more wrinkles and a lot less hair, but otherwise the they act very much the same. I think the thing you have to consider before going to a reunion is did you enjoy high school and have fun? If the answer is no, then the reunion won't be any different. I had a great time in high school and had a lot of good friends that I totally lost contact with after graduation because of my 7 yrs in the army. By the time I got back home, they had all moved away. so ....my reunions are fun! Posted by Gemini not Trent ...he isn't old enough to have a 10 yr yet!!! Oh, hello again!

A letter from Micheal Moore to George W. Bush on the Eve of War
Trent replied to goose491's topic in The Bonfire
So much of that letter is a joke and pure "HEY LISTEN TO ME!!" drivel that I'll only pick one thing I find particularly annoying. Unfortunately, it's virtually omnipresent in the Bush-hater community. "The majority of Americans -- the ones who never elected you" Remember, we didn't elect Gore either. In fact, if you want to break it down, Gore was even LESS elected than Bush was. Let it go. It's your own "weapon of mass distraction". And hey, about the economy, stupid... if you think we'd be all happy and rich if Gore was in office, you've got a seriously short sight of the world and economics. What a jackass, Michael. Oh, hello again! -
AZ Freeflight and AZ Flight Force should be there. Both bad-ass teams and great coaches. Do a little of both if you can! Oh, hello again!

Hollywood celebs aren't antiwar. They just hate the president.
Trent replied to sundevil777's topic in The Bonfire
Does anyone have any comments about the hypocrisy that the letter pointed out? To everyone that blindly follows Billy C like he was the greatest thing since soft toilet paper, how do you feel about the contrast between the Kosovo and Iraq situations? We've already heard the one opinion that there was an active war going on, but what about all the tit for tat shooting in Iraq against UN planes? Call a spade a spade. A lot of people in this country will vehemently oppose anything that George Bush does. They play him out to be the dumbest man alive because he's less articulate than some other presidents. All I can say is, that kind of elitism disgusts me. It seems that people are so eager to pick sides that they forget the issues at hand altogether as well as forgetting which side they were on in the past. Oh, hello again! -
who's going to Red Bull wings in Houston this week?
Trent replied to ramon's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Just so you all know, this event should be off the hook! Tons of the best swoopers are already here (and have been since Tuesday). The only thing missing is all you guys! Oh, hello again! -
Here's an update on the dates of the meets: Spaceland Freefly League Meet #1: March 20-23 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #2: April 17-20 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #3: May 22-25 Spaceland Freefly League Meet #4: June 26-29 You only need to be at 3 of them to win. There's only 3 jumps per meet per team, so you can do this anytime during the scheduled meet. We can provide video for teams without. Here's the moves we'll be drawing from, they reflect some of the required moves for Nationals to help teams get ready! Compulsory Draw - Sit Fly Randoms 1. Toe Touch: Both flyers in a sit position, both flyers touch each other's toes. 2. Dual 360: A simultaneous 360 turn (left or right) on the vertical axis by both flyers in a sit position. 3. Dual Flip: A simultaneous flip (front or back) on the horizontal axis by both flyers in a sit position. 4. Foot to Knee Dock: Both flyers in a sit, one places feet on the other's knees. 5. Hand to Foot Dock: Both flyers in a sit, one performs a single-hand dock to the other flyer’s foot. 6. Hand to Hand Dock: Both flyers in a sit, one performs a single-hand dock to the other flyer's hand. Compulsory Draw - Intermediate/Advanced Randoms 1. Dual 360 Rotation: A simultaneous 360 turn (left or right) on the vertical axis by both flyers in a head down position. 2. Head-Down Hand Grip: Both performers are head-down, facing each other. A hand-to-hand grip is taken. 3. Dual Front-Flip: A simultaneous full front flip is performed by both flyers, starting from and ending in the head-down position. 4. Spock: One flyer in a sit position and one head down. The head down person performs a one handed dock to the sit flyer's head. 5. Totem: Both flyers in a sit position. One flyer docks with feet to the others shoulders. 6. Eagle: One performer is in a head-up position, the other is head-down facing the other performer. Head-down performer goes below and underneath the other performer, passing through the back-down position. The other performer goes over the top, passing through the face-down position. This motion continues until both performers are in their original positions. Both performers must remain facing each other, keeping proximity. Don't forget, we've got good prizes for top 3 teams! You can't win if you don't come and play! It's that simple!! Trent Oh, hello again!

Here's some early details for anyone and everyone who may be interested in this competition. In case you were wondering, YES, this is very similar to the AD Challenge. A lot of us were never able to compete in that event, so we decided to make our own! Per a conversation with Jon, this event will coincide with the Texas Freefly League's competition and they will BOTH be held at Spaceland. (whew!) We can run this event over the cours of 3 days, we'll iron out details as it approaches, but maybe plan on a 3 day weekend here???!! Event Date: July 25-27 OVERVIEW: Welcome to the return of the classic 1-on-1, double elimination freefly challenge!! Spaceland Anomaly would like to welcome all freeflyers with the necessary skill to compete in the first ever SkyBall challenge at Skydive Spaceland. This event will be a double elimination, ladder-style competition. Two flyers will go head to head to complete as many transitions as possible while maintaining proximity with the SkyBall. The transitions will be drawn at the start of the event, and must be completed in the order drawn. DIVE FLOW: -All competitors will be briefed on jumping with the ball, and any safety issues that may arise. - EXIT: The 2 competitors will exit WITH the ballmaster in a head-down round formation with shoulder grips. Each competitor must remain on the same side of the ballmaster as they were on exit throughout the jump. - The race begins when the ballmaster releases the ball, NOT BEFORE - Competitors must point at the ball WITHIN GRABBING DISTANCE before each transition and at the start of the race. This is to demonstrate a flyers control throughout the dive. - Competitors must remain in their hemisphere, meaning they cannot cross the plane of the ball into the other competitor’s airspace. - Competitors may not touch ANYTHING during the jump. Contact with or burbling the ball, the ballmaster, or the other competitor will result in a loss for that round. - Competitors must perform their transitions within the frame of the video worn by the ballmaster. Arms and legs leaving the frame are acceptable, as long as the entire transition is visible. Leaving the video after a transition is complete is acceptable, but competitors must still demonstrate control by pointing at the ball. This will only cost you time. - ALL RACES END by 6500 feet AGL!! The ballmaster will wave off (visible in camera) and approach the ball to retrieve it. Competitors must remain with the ballmaster until the ball is retrieved, then may track off. Competitors have the responsibility to retrieve the ball if the ballmaster is unable to do so until 4500 feet AGL. At 4500 feet AGL, competitors may track off regardless of the ball’s disposition. JUDGING: - The organizers will judge all races unless an organizer is competing. Two competitors will be selected to judge races involving organizers. - 1 point will be awarded each time a flyer completes a transition after having demonstrated control by pointing at the ball within grabbing distance. - No points will be deducted for out-of-sequence transitions. Competitors will only be scored on the transitions in the order of the draw. If you perform an out-of-sequence transition, you will only lose the time it took to complete the transition. You will begin scoring again upon the completion of the next in-sequence drawn transition. - Any transitions where the flyer leaves the screen will not be scored. Head and torso must be visible in the video. Judges will determine if the camera was not centered and how to score any moves that are out of frame as a result. DRAW/MATCHUPS: The morning of the SkyBall Challenge, organizers will draw the transition sequence at random. Organizers will then randomly draw the ladder competition. This is a double elimination event. Losing once DOES NOT eliminate a competitor. Oh, hello again!

Thanks for your patience! We are still ironing out the fine details of this tunnel camp. After going over logistics with Julianna, 3 hours per person over 3 days may be a bit too much. They've suggested 2.5 to 2 hours would be much more productive. So stay tuned for the definite costs, times, and all that hooha. Thanks, Trent Oh, hello again!

OKAY For all those who are SERIOUSLY interested in doing this freefly tunnel camp, please PM me as soon as possible. Right now we're at the stage of figuring out when we can do it, and how many people want to go. Obviously, the more people we take, the cheaper it is for everyone. Absolute maximum we could take is 9 (for now). The reason is that we'd be getting tunnel time from midnight to noon at the latest. There's only 12 hours in that timeframe and we want everyone to get in one hour each day (and there's 3 of us). Cost will be ABOUT $1880 if there are 12 of us, and $2000 if there are only 8 of us. This includes Hotel, Tunnel time, and coaching. We'll also arrange some transportation for people arriving at the airport at different times. The prices may seem high, but in comparison: FTC $900, 1 hour, No Hotel Airspeed $1100, 1 hour, No Hotel Just to remind you that you're being coached by Juliana and Fabian (and maybe their other teammate if we have 12 people). These are in many peoples' opinions, two of the best tunnel fliers in the world. You couldn't find better tunnel coaching than these guys. Remember, PM me or e-mail me if you're seriously interested. Dates and final costs to come! Oh, hello again!
