  1. 2 more things... the VISO does not have any swoop alarms, nor does it have the capability to connect to a computer (at this time). So for now, we're looking at digital wristmounts with all the info of a pro-track, just no noises and downloading. The screen is a bit smaller than the Pro-Track screen and it is not LCD pixels like the Neptune ... just FYI. Oh, hello again!
  2. I have a friend that has a hamster named "Twat". That's as close as I can offer to a good example of a badgering twat. But it sure is a funny thing to call that old lady! Oh, hello again!
  3. Paying attention to the country is not necessarily paying attention to the situation they're putting us in. But having a 2 million man army doesn't hurt, does it? Actually, at the time... it was just another FU to the communists that had taken over China. China wasn't on the verge of being a superpower yet. Then we'd better start playing too... Oh, hello again!
  4. And we'd better wake the fuck up... yes, that includes Bush and the current admin who are seemingly doing NOTHING about it. Oh, hello again!
  5. Thanks so much for your service Max. Thankfully you're back with us. I'd be glad to work with you on freeflying anytime once you're getting back up in the air. Just tell me where to meet up! Oh, hello again!
  6. Exactly my point... except you think that we want influence in the middle east to be close to China? Were Vietnam and Korea strong communist states that we went into to turn them capitalist democracies... or were they democracies facing a rise of communist revolutionaries? Have the South American countries been strong communist states that are suddenly threatened by our capitalist ways?? Or is it that they were democratic countries that are NOW slowly being turned to communism/dictatorship with the help of the Chinese. I don't expect you to see the difference or acknowledge the point. But it's there. If you don't understand what I'm saying, just ask instead of making something up that makes you look like you might have a decent argument. Oh, hello again!
  7. The last 3 presidents have had reprehensible BS policies on Asia... I blame them all. I've ALWAYS said that we're not paying attention to what we should be... I agree also with the helping out of our neighbors first... then the rest of the world. We'd BETTER start paying attention. Nah, it'd be tied if it happens... capitalism 1, communism 1. Oh, hello again!
  8. What a BS response. Is it your position that the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, and all the other "populist rising" countries aren't some kind of lefty wackos? Really? No, really? You don't read enough or apparently talk to people from the area much. But hey, I said "left" so by all means... be offended first. Yes it was a serious question, and.... ... isn't really a good answer to it. Are we helping Pakistan because it's near China or because a lot of the "bad-guys" are there? Are the Chinese concerned with crazy Venezuelans and Cubans blowing shit up in their country? Are they fighting some war with them? No? Oh... so then what's their motivation ya think? Oh, hello again!
  9. YESSSSS, LET'S LABEL THOSE THAT POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS AS HATEMONGERS.... IT MAKES US FEEL BETTER! Like money in the bank. I'll try to refrain from pointing out any problems in case it might offend someone. And you can STILL only wish the the Islamic terrorists/extremists were only as violent and prevalent as the abortion bombers. You can ignore that though, as long as you can keep saying that someone else was bad before too. Oh, hello again!
  10. Sometimes it's hard to solve a problem if you're not looking for what's really broken. It's much more "sensitive" and PC to blame the forest for what the trees are doing... right? If they're only a portion of the larger problem... who's the other portion coming from? You don't save a heart-attack patient by fixing his ingrown toenail first... From Wendy: Right, we should have focused on our attention on everyone BUT those causing the problems... at risk of offending someone by calling it what it is. Again, you can't justify what's going on now by saying... "well someone else did it in the past! We're just as bad!" Intellectual honesty would lead you to the conclusion that we could only wish that today's fundamentalist terrorists were as bad as the clinic bombers or even the IRA. Again, since I know the broad brush likes to paint people saying this kind of stuff as a racist right-wing radical... I'm not saying to blame all of Islam. Recognize where the problem is, and focus on solving it. Right now... it looks like it's in the extreme brands of Islam. But I guess sometimes it's better to be PC than get things done. Oh, hello again!
  11. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/03/14/china.latinamerica.ap/index.html WASHINGTON (AP) -- China is training increasing numbers of Latin American military personnel, taking advantage of a three-year old U.S. law that has led to a sharp decline in U.S.-run training programs for the region, an Army general said Tuesday. ... Remember we were talking about how you could tell who was in bed with whom a few days ago... Can someone make an excuse as to why the Iran/Iraq/N.Korea supporting Chinese have an interest in training soldiers for the nouveau lefty wackos in South America? I wonder if it'll eventually be a "Cuban Missile Crisis" all over again... except the Chinese missiles will be in Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia... and wherever else idiots are on the rise. I know a lot of people like to beleive that the US is the imperialistic, conspiracy riddled bad-guy of the world... you people have no idea... Oh, hello again!
  12. But it IS important to call a spade a spade... or to identify WHERE we're seeing the problem so we can work on making it better. To do otherwise because it might be offensive or non-PC is counterproductive in my opinion. If .01% of Muslims = 100% of the Islamic Fundamentalists = 90% of the terrorists... then it might be worth noting. I've never said to blame all Muslims... I've been to the middle east, I KNOW they're not all wacky. Oh, hello again!
  13. From some of your other posts, I take it you are a religious person to some extent. Just have faith that there is a power that will give him what he deserves. Regardless of the "respect" he is given by misguided fools... he will pay, I'm sure. Oh, hello again!
  14. They're not? So the repeated references to all the abortion clinic bombings and doctor murders are just to illustrate that some Christians have done bad stuff before... just not as much or as frequently? If it isn't a relevant comparison NOW, why keep bringing it up? People are always saying that people should be better than the other guy... if the violent past of Christianity is in the PAST... doesn't that mean that as a whole... they've moved on... progressed. Saying, "b..b..but Christians did it too (way back in the past but not so much anymore)" is another "Clinton got a blowjob" argument. It does nothing to confront the issue of what is actually going on today... it's purely argumentative. It seems that on one hand, you say that we shouldn't do what our enemies do... on the other, you say "well, you did it too (way back when) so they're doing it now." Which is it? It's almost a complete non-statement if you really think about it. Probably better to discuss the issue than to make excuses. Oh, hello again!
  15. Even using your second, more extreme, source, wouldn't it be nice if the muslim fundamentalists were ONLY as violent as that? 24 murders since 1989... drastic decline in all other numbers considered "violent" by the site-owners... and an increase in picketing... we can only wish. It's still a bullshit comparison when you look at those numbers. I think peoples' arguments would be better served without trying to compare abortion violence to islamic fundamental terrorism. Oh, hello again!
  16. Over the last 20 years, anti-abortion terrorists have been responsible for six murders and 15 attempted murders (see Lake of Fire), according to the National Abortion Federation. They have also been behind some 200 bombings and arsons, 72 attempted arsons, 750 death and bomb threats and hundreds of acts of vandalism, intimidation, stalking and burglary. from http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=411 When was the last abortion bombing or doctor murder comitted by crazy Christians? I know it's a side-track, but we can only wish that those people misusing the Koran were as violent and prevalent as the Christians you guys claim are running around being wild-eyed terrorists. The world would be a much safer place, wouldn't it? Not really a good comparison to make your point, but that's just my opinion. You could do better. Oh, hello again!
  17. Almost sounds like the Bush admin's programs, doesn't it! By the way, I think you're right. Oh, hello again!
  18. Here in Houston... it seems like a "bad baby" contest in these theaters. They're everywhere. Most of the theaters even say "no kids under 6 after 10PM" or something and people STILL bring them in and the theater people don't have the balls to say anything. I can count on my fingers the times I've seen a movie without any annoying kids in it. Matinees are there for a reason. So are VCRs and DVD players. Oh, hello again!
  19. AWESOME! It's amazing how many people think that raising the minimum wage actually does anything but get votes for whatever jackass politician suggests it. Nice post! Oh, hello again!
  20. http://www.thenewmexicochannel.com/news/7829286/detail.html?subid=22100423&qs=1;bp=t "Theater Bars Babies From Evening 'R' Movies" It's not much, but don't you wish that ALL theaters would do this? I never understood people taking their toddlers to night-time slasher flicks... or even rated 'R' movies anyway. Not to mention the sheer "piss off" factor of people having little kids kicking seats, running around, crying, talking... and not leaving or getting it under control. Bravo, random New Mexico theater! Now back to bigger and more controversial things... Oh, hello again!
  21. My teammate and I have Visos for testing purposes. They're nice little altimeters. All the functions of the pro-track (except audibles) but worn on the wrist. It is really accurate and has some nice new features like jump data playback. We're still playing with them to see what all they can do. Definitely nice. Oh, hello again!
  22. I thought it was "Spam and Eggs" Oh, hello again!
  23. Genius response... of course, taking what you want to hear and pasting it in. Here's another quote from Glaspie from that meeting: "But we have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait. I was in the American Embassy in Kuwait during the late '60s. The instruction we had during this period was that we should express no opinion on this issue and that the issue is not associated with America. James Baker has directed our official spokesmen to emphasize this instruction. We hope you can solve this problem using any suitable methods via Klibi [Chadli Klibi, Secretary General of the Arab League ] or via President Mubarak. All that we hope is that these issues are solved quickly." And one more... "We can see that you have deployed massive numbers of troops in the south. Normally that would be none of our business, but when this happens in the context of your threats against Kuwait, then it would be reasonable for us to be concerned. For this reason, I have received an instruction to ask you, in the spirit of friendship - not confrontation - regarding your intentions: Why are your troops massed so very close to Kuwait's borders?" Kinda puts the later comments into perspective. I might add that the only transcript of the meeting comes from Iraqi documents. So you'd beleive that, but not Tariq Aziz? It's not that they'd change anything that wasn't in their interests or anything, would they? I like how you say you listen to things with less spin, but spin things more than many in your own way. .... Are you kidding? No one is saying that we are perfect. I'm just saying that it is just as stupid to think that the US is bent on domination, torture, and corruption. Now... who would think that.... hmmm? No one said that either, Bill. You have to learn to stop making up arguments for people just because you have a good retort. Now you're just preaching against something I haven't said. Oh, hello again!

    discipline?

How do you positively reinforce NOT doing something to a dog? Like teaching them NOT to bite, NOT to chase little kids, NOT to dig out of the yard. Stuff like that. Seriously. The way I always did it was when the dog bit me, even playing, you gave him a quick swat on the nose and said NO. Is there something else to do here? Sorry for the sidetrack... ANYWAY, I noticed these problems with kids even when I was still a kid. As a teenager, you'd see the younger kids in the neighborhood mouthing off to the older kids, throwing puches at older kids, stuff like that. If I had done that to the older kids when I was little, I'd have gotten beat down. Now the kids aren't afraid of it because they know Mommy and Daddy will just call the police or protect them. It seems like their disrespect for adults is just following along those lines as well. Oh, hello again!
  25. Just showing that they weren't necessarily religious people just because they went to that school. But if everyone wants to argue about SOMETHING... I guess we can try. Oh, hello again!
