So, goofyjumper, SpeedRacer, Amazon, shropshire, and SkyDekker... Do you disagree with the article? Do you disagree with the history that suggests it might actually be right? Oh, hello again!

Good speech! Props to someone with the balls to tell it like it is. The problem is that too many are already brainwashed by the PC/Mediocrity bug to see it. A wise man once said: "Borders, Language, and Culture" Without those 3 things, any country will fall apart sooner or later. Hopefully, enough people will get their heads out of their activist asses to see it. Oh, hello again!

A couple of my employees want to join the protest...
Trent replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
What you said. Right on. I'm still perplexed that anyone with a brain thinks that these protestors have any leg to stand on whatsoever. What? They're FOR illegal immigration? Do they really know what they're protesting against? For all of those waving the Mexican flag... would they have us treat our southern border like Mexico treats theirs... with our army patrolling and shooting runners? It never ceases to amaze me. Lawrocket, you should have a talk with your employees to figure out what exactly they're FOR. Maybe you'll figure out that they're not really using their brains here or... maybe they'll see the light. Oh, hello again! -
Sometimes I find Greta Van Sustern strangely attractive... does that make me wierd? Oh, hello again!

I'm sure. Yeah, me too. Austin 3:16 CLEARLY states "You just got your ass whooped!" Oh, hello again!

To be HONEST... I know it's tough sometimes... you'll have to make sure to mention that she called her a media whore or a tragedy pimp or something like that. She didn't insinuate that she was actually a prostitute... did she? Or are we just gonna pretend there's no difference? Oh, hello again!

You're just the innocent recipient of the absurd response to more absurdity. Don't worry. Only those showing their official "conspiracy nutjob" passes will be able to view the explosion. I'm going for candy shooting out of my head... like a pinata... you know, just to make it culturally correct. Oh, hello again!

SURE!! I'll dock on your balls and massage them! And by "dock on" I mean "kick" and by "massage" I mean "sell to the lowest bidder." Oh, hello again! -
We can try all 3, how's that? But we won't call it anything but "a bigway going that way fast/slow/or not at all" How's that??? Oh, hello again!

We should nuke ourselves immediately!! For a week, I'll try to beleive all the horrible things people say about the US, its people, and its government. I want to see how long it'll take before my head explodes. Oh, hello again!

Problem with atmonauti article in parachutist
Trent replied to sundevil777's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If I recall it was an open accordion type thing, then a line where people docked on the rigs of the dude in front of them and the 2 front people had a hand dock. If I suddenly have the urge to dig through 60 tapes to find out if I wore my camera or not... I'll let you know. But it was cool. With my teammates, we've done flocking dives where we docked on legs, feet, sideways to the leader (side sliding) all kinds of stuff... it just takes some imagination. Ahhhh, I see the problem. Your "balls" diagram is incorrect. The burble while tracking is NOT directly over someone like in your pic. It is BEHIND and ABOVE them at about a 45degree angle.... depending on the forward speed of the jump. That makes it possible to fly directly over someone else... just not behind them and above them. It's not the 45degree angle that helps anything... it's being on head level relative to where the burbles are that matters. I'm too lazy to draw it, but someone with your experience should know what's up. Oh, hello again! -
Ohhh the questions a clever TSAer could ask our leaders!! Wait... is that an oxymoron? Oh, hello again!

Probably for fear of having to go into hiding after she labeled him a racist or something like that. Oh, hello again!

Problem with atmonauti article in parachutist
Trent replied to sundevil777's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It has, I've been on some 10 ways that built in formation during a flock. None of us thought it was a new discipline though. Formations can be built in any form of tracking to flocking to vertical. What makes 45degrees any more or less exciting. I tend to enjoy any of my jumps. Right now, "atmonauti" just has all the hype. Where? I've seen the freefly routines from the past 4 international meets and only 1 team (american) REALLY used what you'd call "atmonauti". It didn't score well. It IS cool. No cooler than any other jumps to me though. But that's opinions. I just think there's a lot of hype about it being the next big thing... when it's been around, and isn't all that different from what many jumpers do every weekend. To quote the article in Parachutist... "Borgnis and Tiezzi emphasize that atmonauti flight is available to all jumpers, even those with 100 jumps. Formation skydivers can figure it out in just a few days, and good freeflyers need only a couple of jumps to master the technique." You'd better start making sense, or you are going to look like a poge (sic) too.... Oh, hello again! -
This is the biggest bullshit argument ever. Sure the US used atomic weapons on Japan in WW2. It ended the war and DID on a whole save lives (if you don't think so, well... nothing can be done to convince you). What most people SEEM to forget is that JAPAN started the war with us. JAPAN was pretty universally seen as the "bad guy". Japan's use of suicide missions (pacific islands) and kamikazes was a pretty good indicator of what they'd do to win. The nukes were a horrible thing, but I'm sure it wasn't just a happy US government saying "haha, watch this!" when they decided to use them. Iran openly threatens the world. Iran constantly violates the UN guidelines (since so many of you hold the UN in such esteem). Most of the world has come out AGAINST Iran having nukes, except for China and Russia and even they kinda say they don't want them to have nukes. Who are the bad guys? Who is sabre rattling and trying to make it obvious that they're gearing up for war? I fully expect some nitpicky replies that avoid the general idea of my post... but that's to be expected. Oh, hello again!

What do you mean!?!?! He's standing up to the tyrannical US and helping spread the pink revolution to South America. He MUST be a great man. You know it's bad when Venezuelans long to have their dictator back. This guy and his supporters are ignorant stooges. Oh, hello again! -

The hype is new. Building flocking or tracking formations (in different angles) is not new. It's just funny to see people get defensive about it. What's the big deal? It's just another skydive. People take this stuff (and themselves sometimes) way too seriously. Oh, hello again! -

Trent replied to sundevil777's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Okay dude... you're right. No one docked in flocking dives, tracking was boring to look at and people didn't build formations while tracking and move around a lot. Stuff like that is only possible and/or exciting when done at a 45degree angle. You said you wanted an explanation of how you can move around in a track as much as you can @ 45degrees. I dunno... people can go up, down, back, forward, on the belly, on the back, on the side, even sidesliding on the belly or back and going feet first. You can "carve", which is wide barrel rolls with partner. You can build freefly formations like a double spock or totems. I dunno... I just never thought it was all that limited. These things can be done tracking, vertically, and in between. Just takes different balance. How's that? Have you seen atmonauti in freefly competitions? Was it more impressive? The only time I've seen it, it did not score well at all because it's tough to present it so that it doesn't look like tracking. And how am I changing my perspective? It's fun to track, flock, and all the angles in between. Those have been our de-stress jumps from training for years. It just that the hype surrounding it is a little much. Like others have said before... it's nothing new. Oh, hello again! -
Just a quick update... Skydive Spaceland and Spaceland Anomaly will be hosting a Texas state record freefly event during SKYFEST on Friday July 14th and Saturday July 15th. It's looking like we will have at least a 20-way going with flyers coming from in, and out of state. This should put to shame the old records of 9 and 12. If we get the talent, there's a chance we can go a bit bigger. If you'd like to participate, PM me. We're trying to make sure we get people with at least a decent set of flying skills so we don't have to do too much trial and error. So if you can hang, let me know and we'll make some plans. ... besides, this boogie is already a huge party anyway... why miss it? Oh, hello again!

Wow... in that case... thanks for opening my mind... Who have you been jumping with? Just because you haven't seen it where you are, doesn't mean that people haven't been doing it for years. Really? Funny, because almost every team at a world level incorporates some kind of tracking. The only team to REALLY try 45degree flying didn't get scored so well for it since it didn't really show that well on the video. Who said it wasn't fun? A lot of people, besides myself, feel it's a lot of hype about something that really isn't all that new. That's all. Oh, hello again! -

Yeah... it's 1/2way between them both. There's no magic to that. That's not to say it isn't fun, but it really isn't the "next big thing" in my opinion. I think there's way more hype about it than anything. Especially since it has been claimed to have been "invented" by someone... that'll really get people going. Like I said, fun, flying, sure... the coolest thing SINCE freeflying was also "invented"... nah. Oh, hello again! -
