  1. Well, shit, they have to do SOMETHING since no one bough tickets to their shows here in the US. Oh, hello again!
  2. I'm pretty sure I've seen Kallend make the statement that he is FOR 2nd amendment rights and individual gun ownership. At least I think I remember that. And as far as the big ways in Texas go... I'm pretty sure SOME of the old fuckers here get along with him *Jim*... so I know he'll probably at least get invited to POPS! Oh, hello again!
  3. We could play "dirty house" analogies all day long... but when my roommate's room is so filthy and infested that it leaks into the common areas and even into my room from time to time... bet your ass I'll do something about it. Even if I, hypocritically, have a few pairs of socks and some boxers on my floor. So I guess you won't be posting in here anymore? Shame. Oh, hello again!
  4. What all of these guys said! Part of getting a license is learning to dock, dive to a formation, and hold still. If you can't do that as a "freeflyer"... you SHOULD be embarrassed. Launching a hybrid isn't all that hard, but if a freeflyer can't fly to a belly base... they probably shouldn't be doing a hybrid in the first place. If something goes wrong... it becomes a belly jump and everyone should be able to safely handle AT LEAST that. Oh, hello again!
  5. Guess some people feel that there is a collective house in "the world" and some "rooms" need to be cleaned out first since they're the dirtiest. But that's just some people. Of course... we could wait until we're perfect and have no issues before doing what may be right... but then we'd ALWAYS be waiting. Oh, hello again!
  6. Haven't seen or heard anything like that here yet. You'd think CNN would be all over it. We'll wait and see... and HOPE that IF it's true... that it wasn't on purpose. I still have a hard time believing that Israel has a vested interest in randomly killing innocent people like that. EDIT: Then there's that...(from mnealtx) Oh, hello again!
  7. Trust but verify, right? Do you prefer to give the benefit of the doubt to the jihadis? Not much I can say to that I guess. Your point is weak, and the argument is even weaker. But if it makes you feel better, put words in my mouth then argue against them. It'll keep you busy. You like that book, huh? Surprising. I also didn't take you for an isolationist really. By your rationale... we should fix everything at home before lending a helping hand, right? Anyway, having set up situations where the sole purpose is propaganda to make us look bad needs to be called out if it happens... especially when the lives of our soldiers accused are on the line. At this level, it doesn't matter what our government's done... these soldiers deserve to have the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Oh, hello again!
  8. Not 100%, but more than I trust a bunch of terrorists... I at least give my country the benefit of the doubt.... which is more than SOME of you do... And you still're trying the "they did it first so it's okay" BS... shame shame. Oh, hello again!
  9. Are you kidding? They withdrew before the war, yes... but how many times were they kicked out or withdrawn because Saddam wouldn't let them have all the access they wanted? Either way, using the rationale that Israel has something to hide because they haven't called in the UN to inspect the shelling would force you to think that Saddam had something to hide since he didn't give inspectors 100% access. If you're going to sit here and tell me that they DID have 100% access and were never removed before the last time before the war... you'll have to educate me on that... I just don't remember it going down like that. Oh, hello again!
  10. No, I'm not... it seems to be that you're trying to say it... or trying to say I said it... or something. And you're using the... "one side did it first" excuse again. Silly. Oh, hello again!
  11. They did, BUT they did so after Saddam had them kicked out how many times? I mean... by your logic... just having them kicked out is evidence that he had something to hide... right? And many people don't trust the UN... especially Israelis... and some might say they have good cause to. However, the Palestinians could allow investigators to come see the crater to determine whether it was mine or a shell, couldn't they? They can also let investigators go looking for where the 6 shells went as well. I MUST be blind... thinking that some of the most vicious people the world has seen (terrorists) would try to set up their enemies to make them look bad in press and world opinion. I'm totally blind and ignorant. That must be it. We DID get the Palestinian side in THIS SPECIFIC issue, didn't we? They say Israel killed innocent people on a beach picnic. Now we're seeing the Israeli response, which... if you're honest... isn't impossible to believe. I like to hear both sides, but that's just me. Oh, hello again!
  12. Then by that rationale... you must also really beleive that Saddam had WMD's and was in the process of hiding them over and over and over and over again... right? So you distrust the Palestinians as much as you distrust the Israelis? Fair enough. If they didn't have anything to lose... how come the Palestinians don't allow some independents to investigate from their side? Or it could be like that... Palestinians have a vested interest in making Israel look bad... Israel does not have a vested interest in killing innocent civilians. You can't deny that... and it makes things suspect. Oh, hello again!
  13. Wha... wha... WHAT?!? You mean to tell me that bad guys would willingly LIE, FABRICATE, or SET UP a scenario that would put civilians at risk (or be made to look that way) JUST to make their enemies look like bloodthirsty monsters?? Are you saying that they'd use a media that is eager to report negatively AGAINST their enemies... as a weapon? SURELY they must have stopped doing this type of thing by the time the war in Iraq started... I mean... the terrorists, I mean "civilians with IEDs and AKs", seem too nice and/or stupid to try something like this!! Nonsense! Oh, hello again!
  14. Nah... the virtuous terrorists would NEVER do anything like that!! We DEFINITELY want to make sure that the media and the public believe the story from the unbiased "witnesses" from the terrorist side BEFORE giving the benefit of the doubt to those who actually TRY to do things the right way. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/06/13/mideast.probe/index.html Before you think, "OF COURSE the Israeli's would say that...", read the whole article. Then ask yourself... what is more likely. Oh, hello again!
  15. I asked a lady near me to turn her phone off because she decided that we we're on final, so it was low enough to not be a problem. She informed me that it wouldn't cause any problems and also that I should mind my own business. I informed her that IF her phone managed to cause a problem that would put the plane at risk, that it WAS my business. I then asked her if her one phonecall that couldn't wait 10 minutes was more important than the safety of all the passengers. The people next to her politely asked her to turn off her phone, which she finally did... in a fit of indignant rage. Even if the chance is really slim, shut it off and ask the asshole trying to make a call that JUST can't wait to do the same. Oh, hello again!
  16. Just to follow up, since Delay is being portrayed as the "worst"... From http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060609/ap_on_go_co/raid_on_congress "Vernon Jackson, 53, chief executive of iGate Inc., a Louisville-based telecommunications company, pleaded guilty May 3 to paying more than $400,000 in bribes to [Congressman] Jefferson." So it appears there are not only NEW champions that will emerge, but there were concurrent champions as well! And the Congressional Black Caucus is all up in arms because [they're asking/demanding] Jefferson step down from his leadership roles?? At least Delay had the decency to do that while under investigation. But yes... shit still smells like shit on either side. Oh, hello again!
  17. hahahaha... that actually is a good one. Since I don't have a joke about Kennedy(s) or Jefferson handy... can you just assume I made a good one about them not giving up their posts in light of their "problems"? Oh, hello again!
  18. Bill, you're a smart guy... I bet you have a pretty good idea of how parachutes are constructed and flown. If someone who made parachutes came along and told you that you couldn't possibly understand how they worked because you don't spend all your time doing it... I'd expect you to defend yourself a bit. Then, if they told you that "this design is the best," when you know that there are other designs that are really close if not better in your opinion... I'd expect you to say so. The funny thing is... the very fact that there were or will be court cases on any issues like this is evidence that there is at least 2 sides to each argument. Because I'm on one side... I'm ignorant. I got it. Oh, and if I don't agree with the way a judge rules, I just don't get it. I'd need a law degree to have an opinion. But then, you're trying to compare a science with something completely different and interpretive by design. Why would you do that? Oh, hello again!
  19. It'd have been easier to just argue the 9th amendment angle. Marbury v Madison and Zadvydas v Davis are a quite roundabout way of getting to the point, unless we're only talking about due process in criminal cases, which I've said many times... is not the only thing I'm talking about. I still don't see how illegals having a "right" to public services (NOT DUE PROCESS) or someone having a "right" to an abortion or a gay marriage are constitutional issues. It might have been better if you'd just explained that instead of letting me know how ignorant I must be if I don't see it your way. Apart from thinking that illegals and criminals having a right to bear arms and having criminals vote is a good thing... we don't disagree then. I think abortion and this marriage mess belong in state courts. And just because I see and interpret things differently than someone else, doesn't make me wrong or stupid either. Just for the record, I never accused you of being stupid. Oh, hello again!
  20. When have I used "clinton lied" as an excuse? Take your time, gotta get the foot out first. But it IS funny when those that tell us we should be better than our opponents turn right around and resort to "but but, yours is worse" or "yours did it first!" Oh, hello again!
  21. Just don't be surprised when someone one-ups that figure. I mean the ONE congressman had a 5th of that by himself in bribe money in a freezer. Expecting more from others isn't all that hard to fathom. Delay isn't the problem... they're ALL part of it. Oh, hello again!
  22. Sure we can, that's why they made it so it could be amended. If amendments are passed on "your" side or "my" side, the conversation is rendered moot. I just don't think that we have a constitutional right to things like abortions, public services for illegals, etc. Note that that doesn't mean I'm for or against any of them... it just means that I don't think it's a constitutional issue. No, but the 4th is pretty clear. Which is evidence that the muddying of the Constitution from either side isn't a good thing. I bet the ACLU wishes that one amendment was interpreted literally. Too bad they think everything else is flexible though, makes them look hypocritical. Did it, prior to the amendments, prohibit women and blacks from voting? Don't use a controversial idea as a bottom line. You know that issue is debated even among the justices in the supreme court. Oh, hello again!
  23. Hey, you're right... we should stop trying to think for ourselves and let others do it for us. Especially when someone tells us that something is okay, even though we know it might be popular or legal, but not right. We should merely accept and produce. All Hail the Claw! Or we could just wait until someone answers our questions as to why something that ostensibly exists to defend constitutional rights... is out there pushing for "rights" that aren't in the constitution. Have you ever disagreed with a Supreme Court decision? How would you like it if someone told you that you were ignorant because you couldn't possibly understand the issue enough to disagree? Oh, hello again!
  24. How could an ignorant guy like myself even fathom condescension towards the likes of the intellectual elite and almost-lawyers? Here's a quick joke, that I've found pretty true in many cases: -What's the difference between God and a lawyer? -God doesn't think he's a lawyer. Silly me. Here I am thinking that if the founding fathers meant to put something in the constitution... it would have been put in there. I also think that suing because something is "unconstitutional" is ridiculous when there are absolutely no mentions of it in the constitution... something that my ignorant interpretation of the 10th means that it's state territory. So if the ACLU defends the constitution, why are they going to federal courts to sue over things that should be state laws? I'm sure that there's some interpretation that is taught that will justify it since it keeps lawyers working. Your Marbury v Madison example still doesn't explain the "rights" that the ACLU thinks that illegals have... OUTSIDE of due process in criminal courts. It's like you're avoiding what I've actually said so you can talk about due process, which I'm not arguing. You must then agree that illegals should have the right to bear arms. You also must agree that criminals should as well, and they should be able to vote too. You should also agree that abortion, gay marriage and things like that belong only in state courts. Injustices like Megan's Law? While the concept of the ACLU is shrouded in good intentions... well, some smart man (smarter than ignorant lil me) said the roud to hell was shrouded in the same manner. Oh, hello again!
  25. How's this... my roommate got run into by an illegal. Fortunately, traffic was so bad that the guy couldn't run away... but the cops came and basically said that there was nothing they could do since the dude was illegal and didn't have any insurance. They didn't even arrest the guy. But that's just one semi-personal experience. You do have the wide-ranging social and economic impacts, but you didn't want that kinda stuff, right? Oh, hello again!
