  1. LOL, as must you. Beat em with a stick! "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  2. I'm thinking it won't happen. Saddam is psycho but not stupid. He'll do just enough to keep his butt out of the fire. If I have to give a date then I'll say..........March. We don't have any major combat forces in theater right now and it'll take a while to build up, at least 3-4 months. That is my WAG (wild assed guess) on it. 3. We'll have to work on that. Can't have any ferners respectin us now can we. LOL, a guy I worked with wore bandages on both hands for a month after a tree landing. He got tired of waiting for the ladder and slid down the reserve........very fast. It was NASTY! He never forgot his leather gloves again after that jump. 4. Not to confuse the situation but I solved the same problem by doing the opposite. I locked my legs out tight so that they wouldn't move. That got me through the 10 second delays. Then I had to start focusing on relaxing because you will start potatoe chipping with your legs straight out on longer delays. I found the 10 second delays a lot easier than the 5 second delays. 5. There was an older jumper at my dropzone in Arkansas that told me this story about his hook knife (can't state for sure if it is true but I believed him). He had the knife on his leg strap and 'dummy' corded with a long string. It came out of the pouch during freefall without him noticing and began to float around on the string above him. When he threw his PC the bridle went up into the knife and the PC was cut off. I think he said that his main deployed anyway. Kind of a fluke but something to think about. Makes for a good story anyway. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  6. I am talking about an Investigative Detention. It is law and it is exercised regularly. I didn't make it up and the courts have upheld this law on numerous occasions. The fact that he has a weapon that is of the same caliber as the murder weapon and drives a vehicle that matches the description of the getaway vehicle is enough to warrant further investigation. You cannot interview a possible suspect with TV cameras in your face. If you believe you can then you try it some day. If the guy was not involved he should have cooperated. Asshole does not mean he committed a crime. It just means he was making the job of the LEOs as hard as possible. I assume you are saying I feel that way. I don't and I am also not a Nazi (as you inferred earlier). I would have given up my weapon to allow the police to close the lead though. Instead this guy did everything he could to hinder the investigation. Therefore, he is an asshole in my book. The job is hard enough without this kind of crap. Well, I am quoting federal law so you'll have to steer clear of the country. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  7. It is actually probable cause to believe that the person poses an imminent threat to their life or of significant physical harm that allows a police officer to eliminate the threat. I think that is what he means by "well being". "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  8. More control usually leads to less results. There needs to be a balance. Everyone shouldn't start screaming that the system is broke everytime something doen't go 100% like they want it to. It is that type of control that ruins military operations. You have to be willing to accept some mistakes in order to give your commanders the freedom to succeed. Of course, we could sit around and do nothing. That way no one could say the US made a mistake. It worked for Clinton. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  9. We never funded Al Queda. We funded the Mujahedeen. The Al Queda were a splinter group of the Mujahedeen. The Mujahedeen were fighting for their independence from a foreign occupying government at the time. They were using guerilla tactics aimed at military personnel. This was not a terrorist organization at the time. I'm sure they were not choir boys but they were not deemed terrorists by anyone, including Russia, at the time. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  10. Yeah, and everybody knows that people aren't allowed to make mistakes! What are you damned Americans thinking! "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  11. I think that you are assuming they knew beforehand that they were killing a US citizen. I don't believe that. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  12. I'm not really sure what point you are making here. It is actually illegal to do overseas or on US soil unless the person poses an imminent danger to someone's life. Now there is a lot lower threshold where Canadians are concerned. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  13. Hmmm, ruin a person's life vs kill them. Vast difference if you ask me. Anytime you investigate someone you "ruin their life". "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  14. What precedent are we setting? Killing terrorists is OK? I don't think anyone is going to tell you that they intended to kill an innocent person (if he is innocent). I'm positive that if they knew he was a US citizen before the attack they would not have carried it out at that time. Most likely, they did not know he was there when the attack happened. If this is true then you are saying we have to have 100% certainty that no innocent people or US citizens are present when an attack happens. I'm sure you realize that this "100% certainty" will never happen therefore we will never be able to execute these types of missions. It is interesting to me how some people believe that everyone in the government is out to break as many laws as possible. That attitude is completely wrong and very childish. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  15. LOL, good one. Glad to see you getting involved in the "political" threads. You're good. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  16. I've got a tip for you that will keep it from happening to you. Don't go drinking with terrorists, don't hang around with terrorists. You'll be fine. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  17. No it is not. I have done it and seen it done. It is perfectly legal to detain someone for investigative reasons until either probable cause is established or refuted. If you still doubt me I'll pull out the legal decision but you'll have to wait until tomorrow when I can get my book. I seriously doubt you understand what their job is really like if you support this asshole. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  18. I sure hope Mr Brown never needs the help of the FBI. I'm sure that little event will be remembered. They were just trying to check out a lead and this guy wants to act like an asshole. They should have cuffed him and took him back to the office under investigative detention. They could have been a lot more of a pain than he ever thought about being. And "yes" they had enough evidence to detain him until they determined whether there was enough evidence to prosecute him. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  19. I'm 32 and have been married for over 10 years. We have two boys(3 & 5). Still love it and have a fantastic relationship! "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

    alcohol

Pilsner Urquell. Finally found a store where every six pack isn't skunked. Best beer in the world when you can find it fresh. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  21. That is easy? Compare that with unscrew four bolts and place another license plate on. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  22. BMcD, could you please point to some documents that support the theory that registration led directly to the confiscation (which I am guessing is your main point). I know about these events in history but I've never heard of the registration portion. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  23. LOL, I've got one. Nail their wangs to a stump, pour honey on their wang, give them a butter knife, and pour fire ants at the base of the stump. Add beer and a large fire and you have a redneck party!
  24. LOL, it has been done regularly with other police officer's weapons after they have been involved in a shooting. Most of them had way more rounds through their pistols than I did. It is interesting that they were able to link so many of the sniper shooting off of just ballistic fingerprinting then. I think it was at least six out of twelve. That is 50% with only one bullet fired in each scenario. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
  25. Police have been confiscating weapons on a regular basis ie arrests, search warrants, etc. That is what I am talking about by too broad. You need to give an example where registration of firearms has lead to a nationwide "confiscation". "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
