  1. So, do you have to work thru the Super Bowl?!?!?!!
  2. I'm tutoring math online and one of my students just asked if I had to work through the super bowl. I answered that I didn't know when that was.
  3. I have heard people say they prefer cocaine because it clears faster and they'd still be able to pass a drug test - don't know how fast it clears though.
  4. I've only been once before (in '06), but I would definitely go for at least a few days if there were one this summer.
  5. If it weren't for all the signs I saw in the Phoenix airport last weekend (return your rental car 3 hours before your flight on Monday!), I wouldn't have known when SuperBowl Sunday was.
  6. I did start babysitting when I was ~11 (for people who live nearby that my parents knew), but that was only during afternoon/evening hours. I wouldn't have been left alone all night (after say 11 or 12) at that age.
  7. I think it was my senior year in high school. I was 16 at the time and my parents balked at first about leaving me alone overnight, but then I reminded them that the next year I would be living 2 hours away for college.
  8. If someone were arriving tomorrow night and asked, I would certainly consider giving them a ride
  9. How long are you staying? I'm going tomorrow night, staying for 3 nights and got a rental car for $55. I doubt any shuttle will beat that.
  10. Last season our 182 pilot got $6/load and our Caravan pilot got $10/load. They did have some sort of arrangement for minimum pay on slow days (maybe equal to about 10 loads?) but I don't know enough about the details to say for sure.
  11. Are you willing to make copies for others, or did you have some sort of special arrangement with the military teams?
  12. Do you have all teams jumps, or just Army and Air Force?
  13. Oh yes, I totally agree with that one!! Definitely the way I prefer to do things. I would say that it's VERY nice of all the men out there who are willing to go get them in the middle of the night, but unless the pads suddenly developed legs and walked out on their own, how do women not know they're getting low on them? I bet they'd only do it once if they didn't have someone else to send out for them. At least notice in the morning so you (or your SO if he doesn't mind that kind of errand) can pick some up on the way to/from work.
  14. I'm wishing I could afford new gear, but since I'm spending all my money on travelling this year I don't think that's going to happen. I am planning on demo'ing a couple of canopies when I'm at Perris this spring so I'll know what I should have on my wish list. Maybe next year.
  15. I certainly wouldn't complain about having to jump out of a PAC (or caravan, King Air, 182, helicopter, etc.), but if I had a choice I'd pick an Otter. What this translates into for me: I'm perfectly happy jumping the Caravan or 182 at my home dropzone, I love it there, and it will be home as long as I live nearby, BUT if I walk up to manifest at Eloy and they say Skyvan in 20 minutes or Otter in 30, 9 times out of 10 I'll wait the extra 10 minutes for the Otter.
  16. It looks like they have some sports style ones that are fastened pretty securely. Do you normally wear a jumpsuit? If so, it would be under the sleeve and not in a position to get caught on things.
  17. Ooh, I remember engineering physics II at K-State. Let's just say the B I got in it was quite a gift
  18. While we're getting 911 questions answered, I have another one. When you call 911 from a cell phone, are you connected to the dispatchers that are local to where your phone is based or local to where you're calling from? For example - if I called 911 with my Ohio cell phone at my Michigan dropzone, who would I be connected to? And would it take longer to get the correct people sent our way than if I used a local land line or a local cell phone?
  19. I'm "a little" anal retentive. I'm thinking this is mainly due to my habits of alphabetizing my books and movies, organizing clothes on different color hangers, etc.
  20. Looks great! I've been meaning to jump at Chester for a while now (my dad lives an hour from there) so I'm going to try to work out my schedule to be there for a couple of days.
  21. I'll be there with a few friends from Michigan the 25-27. Every time I've been the locals have made me feel very welcome and I've never had trouble finding anyone to jump with, but feel free to PM me if you'd like some friendly faces to look for.
  22. Had one sent to me to review a year or two ago, but I declined because I wasn't at a point yet where I had enough experience to feel comfortable reviewing someone else's work.
  23. Depends on how tall the corn is. I've landed in waist high corn, waist high beans, and corn two feet taller than I am. I would choose them in that order.
  24. Any thoughts on pros and cons of the hybrid Civic vs Prius? They're both on my list of things I'd like to check out before I buy my next car. I had a regular Civic for a little while and loved it until I smashed it up... Of course I'm hoping my current car (a little Saturn with >110,000 miles on it) will keep running for a couple more years. It gets over 30 mpg and is paid for
