  1. i'm putting my $$ on dan simply because good always prevails over evil levin vSCS#3
  2. ann, i'm really sorry. the poll was just meant to be a joke. i didn't think about how you might take it. i would never do anything to intentionally hurt you. and you know that. i'm also sorry that i gave groper the oppertunity to start his personal attacks again. ann, you are a wonderful person and one of my best friends. you give and give and will never take anything. i really appreciate you giving trailmix a home since i can't keep her here. and lesli and ryan are very thankful to you for giving the chawhatson a home. my brother said that he will get it fixed asap. again, i'm very sorry for the animal poll joke. it was in very bad taste. and sorry to dan for including you in the poll. we only did it because you were drunk on the floor howling with the animals. you know we love you too. levin vSCR#17
  3. actually richard, the only place you see us is at the dz. ann just hasn't been out much lately. brit's and my weekends pretty much consist of the dz, country dancin and hangin out at ann's. levin vSCR#17
  4. as per request by some of the participants the bigways have been re-scheduled for the weekend of march 1st and 2nd. sorry for any inconvenience that may have caused. cya then! levin vSCR#17
  5. yah...it happens...those damn parachutes. if only they would always work on the contrar, nothin fucking radical has ever happened with this rig while doing spins and carving. if you'll re-read my original post you would recall that this is my tube dive/wingsuit rig because it has a fat canopy in it. the thought of somebody suggesting doing cartwheels, flips and over-unders with a tube on my feet is sick ya know...i agreee
  6. amen brother! cya saturday...9:00 am levin vSCR#17
  7. i have a racer elite2000 with a spectre120 that i use for tube jumps and as a spare rig. the 2000elite model has open riser cover troughs. it's designed for rw. when headdown, if i get above about 160mph the right riser almost always comes down around my arm. when it happens i put my arm out a little further to hold it there and when i pull i simply just stick my elbow out further to keep the riser from sliding underneath my arm. really no big deal. a friend that i use to jump with when we first started out had an old slim line vector2 that he used for headdown. i have about 300 videos of him with both risers around his arms. levin vSCR#17
  8. i guess you haven't seen the new tuck tab design by jumpshack. they are the best tuck tabs i have seen on any rig ever. too bad it is so expensive to change an earlier model. about $400 levin vSCS#3
  9. i also recommend against the use of an object for such drill dives. instead try simply putting your hands together as if you're praying. the object creates a distraction. without you will be better able to focus on concentrating on your legs. levin vSCS#3
  10. okay...it may not be ugly, but it certainly isn't as pretty as some of the others on the market. levin vSCR#17
  11. you may want to check out the infinity. it's ugly but structurally it's rock solid. the smaller rigs can be picked up by the main flap. but personally i still prefer the racer above all others. levin vSCS#3
  12. try a nerf noodle. it should hold up and retain it's shape better than a cardboard tube. and it's just as safe in case you drop it. levin vSCR#17
  13. don't forget egyptian style levin vSCR#17
  14. for fun jumps my favorite is the sky van. for serious jumps i prefer a super otter and for hop n pops a 2 seat powered parachute is a real hoot. levin vSCR#17
  15. i've had two rides on my dash-m raven 109. went almost 700 jumps without one and then had 2 ten days apart. reserve landed me great. i even landed it sideways on the second. i'm loading the raven 1.4 and at the time my main was an alpha84. levin vSCR#17
  16. dude, liver is way better than gumbo you got me beat on the walk though. i do need to get out and excercise more. levin vSCR#17
  17. and i almost forgot, i also had a diet coke. next time your in a cloud roll over on your back and check out the hole you punched thru it. if your lucky you'll see the shape of your body. i like to fall thru it in an X. coyote style levin vSCS#3
  18. not me. i gotta eat when i'm jumping, but i don't like getting too full. i don't like jumping for at least 30 minutes after i eat. on a side note after my final this morning i stopped by luby's and got a luane platter with liver and no onions, macaroni and corn and cherry cheese cake since they didn't have strawberry. totally made up for the ramen soup i had to have for lunch saturday
  19. i'm kinda curious what the experienced jumpers are gonna do at a dz that does a 100 - 150 tandems a weekend and only has a king air. and last time i was there, there was no shortage of fun jumpers. levin vSCR#17
  20. we had rammon noodle soups seems our cook (whom cooks outside) has split because of the cold weather >SCOTTY CARBON, WE NEED YOU BACK IN HOUSTON!!!< levin vSCS#3
  21. yah, too bad there aren't any in the dre field levin vSCS#3
  22. Skydive Houston will be hosting bigways for advanced freeflyers the weekend of January the 11th and 12th. This will be the third attempt at getting that 12-way. previously we tried it at skydive dallas where we completed an 11-way and skydive spaceland where we held the 12-way for 2 seconds. it's really cool to have such a tight knit bunch of freeflyers around the state that will get together every so often to try and accomplish this. looking forward to seeing everybody there. not wanting to leave anybody else out, andre, the dzo is giving $15 jumps to everybody that weekend. he has also promised a request for 15000' on all record attempt loads, but final say on that is up to the atc. levin vSCS#3
  23. i guess if i had to pick a preference for a setup it would have to be a a carving 180. i also like snapping them. sometimes i do a carving 270. alot of times when i think i'm too high for a 180. 360's are fun but the 540 is a real thrill. in fact, i think the 540 is my favorite. i don't get to do it too often since it's hard to set up for when there's alot of traffic all around. but when i can i start out real easy and gradually give more pressure depending on my altitude. i always watch my altitude by looking over my left shoulder (almost always turn left). i always watch a little ahead in the direction i'm going. also partly because i have a slight stigmitism and don't wear glasses or contacts while jumping. 325 jumps stiletto 107, 300 alpha 84, 350 fx74, 1174 in all. levin vSCR#17 P.S. if i'm getting low and traffic is bad i usually do a wide carving 90 -180. on a long spot i would rather hook and land off rather than fly straight in. the best part about landing off is there's no traffic or anybody to get in your way. only thing to watch out for is maybe a few obstacles on the ground.
  24. maybe it's because many people think it would be a dream come to true to own your own place to jump. not have to go to work. instead skydive for a living. then they realize it's alot of hassle and not that lucrative. or like for instance where i jump it could be that a thrid dz got squezed out by the other competition. i've also heard of dz's relocating or closing because of problems with the locals such as the airport and the city council. lawsuits could be another. the plaintiff may not have much of a chance with a waiver but it still cost the dz's alot in attorny fees. levin vSCS#3
