-cross posted from freefly forum- if you are flying into intercontinental (IAH) and do not have transportation email me at aerodeofreefly@hotmail.com. I'll see if we can make arrangements for you to be picked up and taken to Aggieland (1 hr 45 min. away). So far we have been able to make arrangements for everybody that has given us a heads up that they are flying in. FWIW, every out of state female so far is arriving Thursday. The women's camp could start a day early. Unless I'm mistaken, Jen had already made plans for that weekend awhile back. That's why it was just Missy and Amy coming. Trent will be helping Amy out some with the women's camp. Levin vSCR#17

-cross posted from 2 post in freefly forum- Sat and Sun (June 21-22) Catfish will be organizing CRW jumps (2-ways+). Anybody who wants to do a stack, side by side and downplane all in their first CRW jump, see Catfish. Skydive Aggieland just recently informed me that the airport management has agreed to shut down the glider strip for the weekend so that it can be turned into a swoop course. The glider strip is right next to the hanger. The main landing area is about 100 yards away so larger lighter loaded canopies will not be in the way. Levin vSCS#3

These tubes are not your average homebuilt tube. The quality of work is equal to that of a canopy. The manufacturer swears they will last hundreds of jumps and from the looks of the craftmanship, i believe him. Plus he's been building them since they first became popular. They may cost $239 but unless you loose it you'll never need to buy or make another. levin vSCS#3

the gear store at spaceland has them in stock. i jump one and it is a really nice tube. http://www.flyvertical.com levin vSCR#17

I'm working on the base right now. We have a 4-way base that has made a few practice jumps. But given the number of particpants, we are going to start with a 5-way base. I'll let you know when I have that base made up. And yes we will be making several practice jumps. There will be a couple of practice days for everyone before the event. I'll post those dates in a few days when I have them. levin vSCR#17

Texas State Headdown Record Attempts & Women's Headdown Record Training Camp #2 Skydive Aggieland June 20 - 22, 2003 The Texas Headdown Record Attempts orginally scheduled at Skydive Houston have been moved to Skydive Aggieland. Skydive Spaceland is providing one of it's Otters. Practice jumps start Friday. Also on Friday Missy and Amy (and maybe some others) will be offering load organizing and $30 coach jumps. Load organizng will also be available through out the weekend for those freeflyers that may not be ready for the bigways. If you are planning on attending and would like to participate in the bigways and were not on any of last years bigways please email me at aerodeofreefly@hotmail.com. Trying to get a headcount and at the moment that headcount is 21. And for the less experienced jumpers, that is alot of talent walking around to pick brains and ask questions. Since this event is only 6 weeks, if you know somebody that is planning to attend please let them know that Summer Jam 2003 has been relocated to Skydive Aggieland. cya then, Levin vSCR#17

i think i have to agree with sunshine. however, i don't agree that it is neccessarily pathetic. maybe almost pathetic. i don't think she said RW. what she said was the ability to fly to a formation on your belly. which if you consider freeflying to be total body flight then that includes belly. to me RW is turning points. i agree that the inability to sitfly of a good RWer is definetly not pathetic, but that's because sitflying is outside the realm of their discipline. belly flying for a freeflyer on the other hand is not. i don't know if you've ever tried it, but RW is kinda fun. from exit to opening at least. he probably said that since the space games have all but been forgotten about. a few years ago they use to happen all the time. I heard not too long ago about the upcoming space games in spain but before that when was the last time you heard anything? For me I think close to 2 yrs. And the whole AD license thing seems to be taking a back burner as well. before if you had an AD 'A' you were considered a god. now it just means that you probably have enough skill not to kill somebody. The average freeflyer is alot better today than a couple of years ago and they are finding out that they don't need a freefly license to be recognized for their accomplishments. Plus the AD test are flawed by georgraphical unavailability. btw, how long has the space games #13 been scheduled. if you look at the date on trent's post that you dug up (october 31, 2002) then you would notice that he probably made that comment long before SG #13 were thought of and definetly before anybody had heard about them. you need to go back and re-read some of this thread. my suggestion about proper exit order was in reply to the following comment by flyingferret... flyingferret (according to his profile) is a freeflyer. he's talking about open canopies becoming a hazard to the bellyfliers. this sounds like an exit order issue. you made the following reply to my post... and then carried on with the argument that only "Proper exit SEPARATION" ensured seperation. proper exit order helps to ensure proper seperation. you know that. i know that. everyones knows that. the two kinda go hand in hand since they both help to achieve the same thing and combining them is the most efficient way to achieve proper group seperation. not using a proper exit order coud lead to unneccesarily long delays between groups and unneccesary go arounds. the reason i did not mention seperation instead of exit order is because proper seperation is common sense. that's what we all hope to be when we open. seperated, right? everybody knows the wait 5 seconds between groups rule. even people just off student status. you see them all the time in the door counting to 5 on their hand before they jump. i think most people understand or are aware that drift, the uppers and the amount of time spent between groups affect group seperation. what alot of people don't know is the proper order to exit in depending on what they are doing on their dive. levin vSCS#3

how is your body position? if you are leaning back or sitting on your butt and have alot of surface area exposed, with a baggy suit and being a light weight i think 126 is a realistic fallrate. i have a tony suit that i got a few years ago when sit suits had just become pretty much become obsolete. the arms have alot of drag on them. almost maxed out i could fall with some belly fliers on my head and still be able to get forward drive with alot of effort. if their is a good coach(s) present where you jump, you should show them your body position and ask for advice. levin vSCR#17
