I just roll my slider once stowed and pull it behind my head... tha seems to keep it plenty out of the way... when you do that does it ride up??? do you loosen your chest strap? do your shoulder straps come off your shoulders much once under canopy... I have seen many people with velcro stows on the jumpsuit and even sometimes on the top reserve flap, but I have never really seen the need... blue skies rich! I noticed on my first jump with my new rig that my leg straps were not as tight as they should be and once under canopy my shoulder straps were off my shoulders about 3-4 inches...that made it difficult to reach the dive loops and also made it difficult to keep the slider behind my head... anyways I guess that is all kind of off the subject... so you were in a streight down dive with one canopy out? I dont really see that as an issue unless you are really low and dont have time to tap the reatr risers or flare out of it to get the canopy to come back to regular flight.. jsut my 2 cents:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

i dont really get it...someone with more than one jump grabbed the front risers (dive loops) and tried to flare with them??? and didnt know that they were on the front??? I guess its possible, but whoever taught that student either should have their rating yanked... if they cant tell the difference then they shouldnt jump..if the instructor didnt tell them the difference he shouldnt instruct.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

i LIKE SLINKS ALSO BECAUSE i ALWAYS PULL MY SLIDER ALL THE WAY DOEN TO THE 3 RINGS AND WHEN THE SLIDER COMES DOWN ON OPENING THE GROMETS DONT SLAM INTO A METAL LINK THEY HIT THE FABRIC WHICH IS MORE FORGIVING ON THEM... -YOSHI _________________________________________ this space for rent.

111 MAIN 126 PD RESERVE (i THINK IT ACTUALLY MEASURES TO BE ABOUT 134) AHH WELL... i WOULD RATHER BE UNDER A LARGER RESERVE ESPECIALLY IF UNCONSIOUS. AND i THINK MY TJNK LOOKS JUST AS GOOD AS AN NJ OR SMALLER... (SORRY BOUT THE CAPS IM AT WORK AND I AM TOO LAZY TO UN-CAP MY KEYBOARD:) -YOSHI _________________________________________ this space for rent.

This is my home dz... cant say much other than I have 3 other dz that are closer and I have never been to them... I would rather drive 1.5 hours than even take a weekend to check out a dz thats 20 min away! the people are great...I love the way that there is not the segregation here. The FF's get along with RW's and etc... whatever your discipline this palce can accomodate (shy of a swoop pond). Home of THE boogie make this place awesome as it is, but even on a "normal" weekend we get hoppin and try everything. This past weekend for example I did 13 jumps of which included hop and pops, track dives, free fly, hoola hoop jumps, swooping, and a little more freefly:) all in all this is a great place and if you are in Indianapolis, or Cincinatti, or Columbus you should check this out... -yoshi

I dont usually take much of anything...on cross country I usually take my cell phone...never money and I dont jump with my wallet...I do have a pull-up cord neclace that (against reccomendation from the manufacturer) I do wear all day... I jsut make sure its nice and tucked into my suit and under my shirt(s) before I exit... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I started freeflying (sit) in my coach dives before I got my licence.. since then i have been hooked... I have dont about 25-30 rw jumps since I got my licence and I have about 350 jumps now. all I can say is that no matter which way you lear (belly first or sit first) be very comfy with pull time and alti awareness.. I got into a couple of un-nerving situations from stupidity and its really hard to keep your mind streight when you are starring at the ground comming up at you much less sitting there staring at the sunset on the horizon. make sure whoever you jump with knows your abilility and tell the truth...it will only get you further. I am no expert by any means but maybe some of what I say you can use... good luck and have fun! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I would prefer a crotch rocket myself... though I havent ridden much since a pretty bad accident... only been on a bike 2-3 times in the past 3 years...I t-boned an 88 ford bronco that pulled out infront of me (82 year old man that said he never saw me comming) and after denting his hood with my helmet (luckily I was wearing one tht day) and flipping in the air to land about 15-20 feet past it I wound up with micro spasms up both sides of my spine and 2 months in physical therapy (luckily nothing worse)...so I figured Ill stick to one extreme sport to keep my adrenaline at a level I can tolerate:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

thanks for all the comments.. I guess I didnt realize that it was thicker material than the chest strap on my alst rig.. I knew it was longer, but i wasnt sure (since I havent jumped it yet) how it would be under canopy.... I guess Ill see tomarrow or sat. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

does anyone know why there isnt a fold in the mini chest strap as a stop on the oddessey? I noticed this on mine when I got it a few weeks ago and I usuallu loosen mine once under canopy.... jsut wondering if there are any disadvantages from having a fold stop on the chest strap.. I dont like the though of it comming loose mid swoop and plopping out of my harness when I lean forward.. any thoughts?? I thik Ill have my rigger put the fold in... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

If you tie the canopy in a knot I am pretty sure that is an anti slamming pack job...wont quite open, but...yeah just being a smart ass:):):) _________________________________________ this space for rent.

. If you want to film Tandems or RW and you're going to have a sight, stills camera and other stuff sticking out of your helmet and you're going to exit independently for the purposes of filming then that's a whole different story, Quote I use a sidewinder ..nice and completely closed. I film tandems and aff and 4 way, but mostly point of view on ff dives.. I also have a still camera (minolta htsi plus) that is mounted with a toung switch on the top (sometimes) and I never have used a ring sight.. I personally dont believe in them.. if you know your setup and you know where the cameras are pointing with the camera on (which will take quite a few jumps) then you dont need a sight... unless you are trying to be extreemly accurate for the photos you are taking. I suggest just putting a mark or tape ring on your goggles as a sight.. done that in the past and it works fairly well.. then you dont have yet another snag hazard:) jsut my 2 cents -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

back to the matter at hand..:) the cf2 is sweet the opening far exceed anything I have jumped (even if I dont have that many jumps) I would reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a high peformance wing that doenst have the undesired characteristics of a crossbraced canopy... just my 2 cents -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I am a huge fan of icarus...my crossfire 1 was nice, but I had the mod and it was a little stiff (search previous posts to get more details) the crossfire 2's that I have jumped (down to a 105) are awesome...do a search in swooping and in here and you will see alot that has been said on it -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I was on a sit fly 2 years ago at the richmond boogie when in free fall I saw my buddies helmet fly off.... the funny thing is he went to his belly like he was going to float up to it:)!! about 2 hours later a farmer came to the dz with helmet in hand...he claimed he was watching tv and heard an odd sound...it hit his house! the helmet was virtually unscathed..only a few minor scratches to remind him to strap it on next time..:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I used to use an old water hose and my brother and I built this contraption to reppel out of our backyar tree.. we didnt have a rope so we improvised...as far as the parachute thing.. guilty a suspected:) actually we jumped off the house so many time the neighborhood kids though it was some sort of a theme park.... until one of the did break thier leg.... trying to rollerblade from the apex and jump off with the garbage bag edition of a parachut:) a few of us actually felt bad after that one....we didnt know the kid would believe us that he would land softly:):):) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

my second night jump I was on a 138 saphire...exit wieght about 190....pretty uneventful accept when I pulled at 4k I had 3 full line twists...tried and tried to kick out then right as I was about to give up I grabbed my handles and realized that I was kicking the wrong way!....eventually got out of it and was situated at about 3k....landed great (nice swoop in front of some cars in the landing area...with their lights on so we could see) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
