  1. Agree. trump has new election talking points to place the entire department of justice under direct presidential control. He states that its the only way to protect Americans from the deep state. The only way to keep what the deep state is doing to him. From doing it to every single American. What a hero! Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israel PM who has also gone populist. Is also going the same route, or at least trying to. He has similar corruption challenges in the courts. What loyalists will trump put in as FBI director? How many FBI agents would quit as a result? One of trump's first orders in 2017 was to order the termination of 46 Obama appointed prosecutors.
  2. In the UK where politicians still answer the little bits of integrity left. BoJo resigned as MP after resigning as P.M. The report was released today and it plainly stated that he lied to the people and to parliament. His downfall was preceded by the resignation of others within his conservative party. As compared to America under the GOP. Is the decimation of the party in elections the only way to build a backbone of integrity? Or is it going to be allowed to continue to send a message that the state is the enemy. Both a deep and shallow state enemy.
  3. Judge Cannon has 14 days criminal trial experience over four trials. She is a member of the Federalist society "with the aim of challenging liberal or left-wing ideology within elite American law schools and universities. The organization's stated objectives are "checking federal power, protecting individual liberty and interpreting the Constitution according to its original meaning" If you want to be named to the judiciary by republicans you pretty much have to be a member.
  4. You've raised her to adulthood and are explaining to her now your views on Post-Stonewall LGBT Conservationism?
  5. The day starts and there is two lines of jumpers looking for loads to get on one goes to billvon and one to Winsor. Winsor starts listing the loads he has organized, his qualifications, the capabilities of each prospective A/C and its pilots.... Jumpers start to nod off.... billvon's 100 way three point load is landing and he starts to lay out the next jump. Winsor, John and Billvon are all pretty smart but in that aforementioned order the Kenworth air horn goes off at 100 psi. Then it goes down to the Prius beep, beep.
  6. Agree no guarantees. Courts of appeal is the final backstop for judicial bias.. If a rabbit warren trumper lies during jury selection it could be game, set and match.
  7. 1. Palm Beach county is where the trial will likely take place. So its likely 5 of 12 jurors were or still are trump voters. Of which about 33% are MAGA trumpers for which homicide is acceptable as long as its the Don who does it. 2. The trial judge was appointed by trump and has a history of pro trump rulings. = .......case closed.
  8. So you've never read a transcript of a trump speech?
  9. It appears as though cracks are starting to appear in the trump crime syndicate. GOP senators, AKA his lieutenants are nowhere to be seen. Mitch McConnell and other senators have not defended trump and "Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), who twice voted to impeach Trump, said in a statement, “By all appearances, the Justice Department and special counsel have exercised due care, affording Mr. Trump the time and opportunity to avoid charges that would not generally have been afforded to others. " This could be a high noon moment for trump. But of course the MAGA (Make Attorneys Get Attorneys) still controls the nomination process. McConnell himself said that trump will kill election chances as his kiss of death killed midterms.
  10. I wonder is Las Vegas odds makers have started taking bets on how long trump’s former main attorney Evan Corcoran has to live post testimony? Obviously trump will be calling every thing he says to be a lie.He is probably not the smartest to get involved with trump in the first place. He should make sure his will is up to date and wears clean underwear every day.
  11. I'd be against hanging the first lady. But ok. I'm in.
  12. The parallels between US and Italian politics is striking. Here is a quote from a NPR story 2009. ""A culture of illegality has taken hold. We no longer have an ethical role model. We no longer want to follow the rules and respect the law and the constitution. We are in disarray, and we have given up. We have lost sight of our basic civil rights," Patarca says. Berlusconi is fond of saying, "Italians like me the way I am." Through two decades of TV dominance, many analysts say he has, in fact, reshaped Italian culture and values into his own image." Berlusconi was a billionaire media baron who controlled all the major TV stations. Like trump-FOX viewers, Putin and RTV, his base never got news of his corruption.
  13. Too bad he never reads anything because it may have given him pause about violating that law. Nah, entitlement always overrides logical decision making for him.
  14. Well Italy is a close second. Bunga Bunga Berlusconi was the full equal in corruption, underage sex, prostitutes, etc. He used the legal system just like trump does. He died yesterday, a three time corrupt leader. Italy is going to give him a full state funeral. What a joke. Holding up politicians like Berlusconi and trump in any sort of honorific position is disgusting. Berlusconi, a conservative, polarized voters yet he created a base, like trump that loved him.
  15. I dunno Slim has the dirty details on affairs like that.
  16. Somebody on CNN I wasn't paying particular attention. trump made the comment that since he won't be convicted, "he won't have to pardon himself".
  17. Its all a part of the dystopian future in the republican mind. Illegal immigrants have stolen all the White women. Either through marriage or some nefarious democrat basement pizza parlor scheme. There is only a few old white men left, armed with AR-15s. Then they wake up before its too late. ...Or so they hope. This type of discourse is as old as America. It’s not that vitriol and personal attacks are unique to the 21st century. "John Adams generally referred to Alexander Hamilton as “bastard brat of a Scotch Pedler.” Thomas Jefferson(Republican) outsourced his attacks on John Adams to a journalist named James Thomson Callender, who wrote that Adams was “a hideous hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, not the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.”
  18. Republicans have attacked the IRS cutting its funding and labeling it as a enemy of the rich, er the people. They have attacked the justice system. Its time to fund the FBI to investigate more not less politicians. In France its former leader was sentenced for corruption In the UK its former PM, BoJo, Biris Johnson resigned over lying in parliament. In Scotland "Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested by police investigating the finances of the governing Scottish National Party, British media said Sunday. Police Scotland said a 52-year-old woman was detained “as a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party.” In America there is talk that even if trump is convicted of all of the crimes he committed. He should not go to prison because the image that a president behind bars is too divisive.
  19. Yevgeny Prigozhin, Slim's main man on the front is out. The Russian general staff is in because Wagner was causing too many troubles. Exposing ammo shortages and corruption became too much for the Russian Fuhrer. Wagner forces will be handed Russian army contracts, a pen and told to place their heads in front of the AK-47 barrel while they consider the contracts finer points. Naturally Prigozhin was pissed off: "Wagner will not sign any contracts with Shoigu," Prigozhin(defense minister) said in response to a request for comment on the defence ministry's announcement. "Shoigu cannot properly manage military formation." "Last week the group kidnapped a senior frontline army commander, Lt Col Roman Venevitin, after accusing him of opening fire on a Wagner vehicle near Bakhmut. Lt Col Venevitin was later released, and in a video shared by Russian military bloggers he accused the group of stoking "anarchy" on Russia's frontlines by stealing arms, forcing mobilised soldiers to sign contracts with the group and attempting to extort weapons from the defence ministry." Wagner are the heroes of the American conservative right. As Slim stated here before: "They are being "Grindered' byWagner , possibly at this point in time the most vicious and experienced band of cutthroats in Europe....Around 7 Ukrainians die for everyWagner professional killer....butWagner kill kids for the honour of Putin...Wagner killing more innocent kids dying in the name and honor of Zelenski....Ukraine needs to shut down their illegal Bio-Labs and turn in the NAZI combatants on their side and perhapsWagner will stop the assault."
  20. DeSantis has laid out his national vision for America in a new manifesto- book. It paints a picture for anyone brain dead who has never heard of history. "The Courage to Be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Revival" A little study of the ideas in this modern day Mein Kampf should be required reading for anyone who wants to protect democracy. Wikipedia, a NYT story on the book. Some snippets: "DeSantis argues for more executive power, boasting his use of the veto to control Florida's House of Representatives and Senate," Why not just label him a demigod and do away with senates and representatives? "quotes himself telling Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White that he would "overrule any mayor that gives [the UFC] a hard time".[4] By contrast, in Dreams from Our Founding Fathers, he criticizes Barack Obama for executive overreach, accusing Kathleen Sebelius of using her power to "intimidate private businesses for engaging in speech she didn't like".[3]" DeSantis has painted himself as more right than trump. He is as dangerous as trump to the power of ten and its no wonder that followers like Slim is the result.
  21. Isn't he the guy who suggested Dos Equis create the The Most Interesting Man in the World advertising campaign? Didn't the marketing firm Euro RSCG get a hold of Joe to be the star of the advertising and Joe turned them down because he was too busy? AFAIK Joe told them he liked rum not beer. That if his customers wasted money on imported beer they'd have less cash for jumps.
  22. Yes and no. Turbo engines perform better at higher altitudes, i.e. climb better. Piston engines don't like sudden temperature changes, called shock cooling, that skydiving subjects them to several times an hour. I know of a DZ that had one. But without expert pilot management you could be overhauling the engine very often. With overhauls very expensive. There are those who suggest shock cooling is a myth and here is Lycoming's suggestions https://www.lycoming.com/content/how-avoid-sudden-cooling-your-engine and "Rapid cooldown during initial descent can damage the engine. Gradual cooldown is preferable. The descent power reduction should be accomplished in several steps. Ideally, the descent should begin by nosing the aircraft over slightly while engine power and mixture remain at the cruise setting. The added speed will initiate a gradual cooldown. When the CHT has stabilized, reduce the manifold pressure to 25” Hg, and re-lean the mixture to maintain 1,350˚ F exhaust gas temperature, which will prevent rapid cooldown. After a period of at least one minute, a further reduction of manifold pressure to 20” Hg and 2000 RPM can be made, if necessary. Again, the mixture should be leaned to maintain 1,350˚ F exhaust gas temperature. Cowl flaps should not be used as an aid in slowing the aircraft during descent. Descent power settings at greater than 20” Hg manifold pressure should be utilized for the greatest possible time to avoid accelerated piston ring wear." C-182s are popular for a reason and you could likely buy two for the price of a T-206. I'd say pass on it for engine suitability. Look at what A/C are used at other small dropzones.
  23. For all the crimes trump has got away with. For his efforts to degrade the department of justice, obstruct justice.. Ridicule and politicize justice. For his stonewalling of parties with matters before the courts and those he outlasted. Celebration is entirely appropriate. VP Pence had the nerve, the gall, to suggest today that the department of justice should have "worked it out" with trump. Sure just like the laws work for everyone else. If its all a witch hunt trump will be found innocent. He is using donated cash to pay for his lawyers and will likely make a net profit from excess donations. Nobody in the department of justice is investigating the $2 billion loan that the Saudi's gave to Jared. But its a celebration non the less so we'll have to disagree.
  24. Most likely softened a 20 year sentence given him by the Kremlin prior to the start of a trial.
  25. I was more along the lines of his military service, reasonable gun activism, volunteer work and postings in this "moderate forum". IMO he is a moderate republican. Its just that in the current climate recognizing such individuals is difficult. Like Liz Cheney most have been driven away from the discourse.
