  1. You mean claim bone spurs and get a deferment?
  2. Hilarious. DZs like Joe's will expand and small C182 dropzones will have serious problems. The big will get bigger and the small will likely become dust in the wind.
  3. Sounds like a matter ready for the republican laws that justify homicide when you feel your life is threatened. Hopefully she won't be charged with anything. America.
  4. During the Vietnam war a US major had a famous quote about the battle of Bến Tre: "'It became necessary to destroy the town to save it,' Today republicans have adopted the same idea about protecting ones family and children. The US is violent and guns are necessary to save ones children. Think of all the children's lives saved because guns were ready and loaded.

    Q

Quite right. Some brains are wired for addiction, some for gambling, some for extreme sports like....bull-riding, some inclined for LGBTQI, etc. Other level headed people with a penchant for politics gather in SC.
  6. He is likely not the sharpest tool in the shed given that his job is to keep a fresh pile of Big Macs on trump's desk. Perhaps just a bit sharper than trump. He likely is the last person in America that thinks trump is loyal. Of everyone in the classified documents case he is probably the only one to end up behind bars. Just call him the poster child for a gullible trump lackey.
  7. The total so far in Canada of forest burnt is ten times the average for a total of 20 million acres. 19, 500 people have been forced from their homes. Only 1/2 of the current fires are under control. That is about the size of South Carolina.
  8. Was it not hardline enough for the Freedom Caucus? Too soft and easy going for the Freedom Caucus? Nope she called Representative Lauren Boebert a "little bitch". So felonies, lying, theft, etc. is all ok for republicans. Just don't call another republican a little bitch.
  9. Major evangelical nonprofits are trying a new strategy with the IRS that allows them to hide their salaries $280m ‘dark money’ spent by US Christian Right groups globally I imagine aircraft mechanics and Jet service centers are doing a roaring business in Colorado.
  10. Be it a flag or the constitution Republicans are all about symbolism that fits their agenda of victim-hood and payback for perceived enemies real or imagined.
  11. China actually has a fair amount of coal 4th in the world. They import coking coal from Australia, metallurgical coal for use in their old blast furnaces for the production of steel. Slowly China is moving to steel making using EAF and mini-mills. But poor domestic and export demand has slowed this transition in the last two years. Controlling pollution in China is a current new priority for XI so renewables has full party push. As does EV building domestically. China to Cut Steel Output For Third Year to Hit Green Goals "Crackdown on property market saps demand for the alloy" Because local governments have separate agendas and quotas for showing growth. Building thermal plants and steel mills by a local government for which there is no demand. Is often a wasteful cross-purpose for national objectives. China's new coal plants set to become a costly second fiddle to renewables "China's plans for some 100 new coal-fired power plants to back up wind and solar capacity have sparked warnings that the world's second-biggest economy is likely to end up lumbered with even more loss-making power assets. Analysts question the logic of policies that intend to reduce the role of the dirtiest fossil fuel but at the same time require more coal-fired power plants to be built - especially given that only a small number of older plants are typically retired each year. The plans also highlight how local government interests have impeded the development of an effective nationwide power market" Sounds like stranded assets. Perhaps Brent could go to China as a consultant.
  12. The stranded assets I was referring to are the brains of people once they become republicans.
  13. Republicans will likely remain in the station as the only change they like is backwards.
  14. Did you ever learn about stranded assets at that school you went to?
  15. Ah the impossible juxtaposition of integrity together with a christian-conservative court. Its like the lays of physics and perhaps our own physics professor can weigh in. Two physical bodies can't occupy the same space at the same time.
  16. So no different from GOP senators or house members. No different from the conservative majority on the bench. They sit in a building that features "Lady Justice with her hand holding the scales to weigh evidence. But its all a sham. No evidence need be weighed. Christian-conservative ideology rules the argument with its heavy boot on the scale.
  17. At least the GOP has dropped all pretext of the "compassionate conservative".
  18. Who said making society better was a conservative trait?
  19. Because lying and making counter accusations is what republicans do best. First its convenient. Second and most important for republicans its all about winner take all. Any compromise, any real or imagined interpretation of the constitution is something to be used to take and hold power. So these court interpretations of the constitution and precedent are viewed as defeats of the enemy. Or in Brent's view a "bad week for non republicans". What goes unsaid is that this court has years and years of such rulings ahead of it. With judicial overreach thrown in at regular intervals.
  20. Just like how the conservative side of the USSC looks upon the majority of Americans and its obligation to intregrety. You're very insightful!
  21. Its sad and yet is helpful in defining their character. Kicking weak and vulnerable people who just want freedom to live the way they choose. For the right white in America the courts and the constitution are weapons.
  22. Brent has a sign too: And trump has a sign at his golf course:
