What part of reducing the number of guns in the US by 30-50 million per year is hard to understand? You asked and I answered not once but twice as of now. With that solution there would be no guns in the US in about eight years. You really are disingenuous.
-
As I've said before as a pro gun liberal at least you're honest about your position on guns. Inflexible but honest. If the US government paid "fair" compensation would you be in favor? Given of course severe restrictions on new production and imports. So are you in favor of constitutional changes if they still allowed gun ownership but allowed real restrictions?
-
What part of that don't you understand? It has worked everywhere else in the world. But nibbling around the edges does nothing. Ten to fifteen million more guns every year. More states allowing open carry without permits. Are not going to solve any problems. Reducing the number of guns in the US by 30-50 million a year would.
-
So dollars and pennies have a trading value for those killed by gun violence. As everyone has suggested here and elsewhere. The number of guns together with the number of people who can and do posses them must be restricted, reduced. BIGUN is the only progun poster here who has suggested or endorsed restrictions that would make a difference. Both you and Brent play the game that nothing can or should be done. You do it with more finesse. But that makes you even more disingenuous.

When you stop lying and deluding yourself. The answers will still be the same ones every other country in the world has used to solve this same issue.

Jakee is right that some EU countries have been leaders in supplying advanced weapons to Ukraine. Joe is right that its time to do more. IMO 1,000 to 2,000 of the M1 tanks in storage should be supplied. These are the old models with the 105mm guns and there is a shortage of 105mm ammo. There are 2,700 in storage and will likely never move again. Picture of them below. President Biden has been cautious about pouring weapons into the battle. But he has also been prudent. F-16s with precision glide bombs are the next important weapons. Along of course with ATACM's. The Kerch/Putin bridge should have been rusting at the bottom of the Black sea for a year by now. The Ukrainian military has been prudent in its offense. They have received the best training in "combined arms' warfare from the west. But actual operations are proving to be difficult with no air superiority.

All of them. If and when they reach the pearly gates if they were innocent and white they'd be allowed entrance. For doubters"White Evangelicals, For this cultural group, militant masculinity trumps(no pun intended) the Bible."

In America fear is a real if not the main motivator for gun sales. Scared for gun owners and wannabe gun owners fails to accommodate the idea that they could be the dead one after a gun battle. i.e. few gun bearing men think that perhaps they should run if a shootout starts near them. IMO polite is just a term from the old western movies where a six gun on the hip encouraged polite discourse in the saloon. Reality seems to be that a gun in the back pocket drives the idea that other aggressive drivers deserve a bullet in the window to teach them courtesy. That an perceived insult deserves the brandishing of a gun to force an apology or to put the other guy in his rightful place. Which of course all goes wrong when the other guy also pulls a gun. Or a hothead uses the gun to reconcile that perceived insult.

OK, guys - you got 10 seconds to make good

I'm sure legislation protecting American men's right to at least ten seconds of groping is on the way. At least if the former groper in chief is re-elected. -
Yeah but you used to be an engineer not a nurse. You served in the military not the woke promotion office. If you developed more homophobic and misogynistic attitudes you might be idolized by republicans. Perhaps a manly photo of you riding a horse without a shirt would also help.

Every true republican gun owner knows the world only exists on the southern border. Since most Mexicans are rapists, drug dealers, gang bangers and murders. Protecting their women by stockpiling guns is a rite of passage for republican males.

Gun owners used to suggest that an armed society is a polite society as well.

Then he will point out that its -74 F at the South Pole right now with light snow...Just kidding everyone here knows facts won't be quoted.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
Phil1111 replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
You guys know that trump told over 30,000 lies that were documented during his presidency don't you? You know that Jared is related don't you? You know that $2 billion in Saudi cash was pouring into Kushner business? That Kushner defended the Saudis thought the trump occupancy of the White house. You know that Jared Kushner has given Saudi Prince MBS advice on how to handle the outrage over Khashoggi's murder? There you've both satisfied yourselves regarding any doubts about the duty to truth of a trump family member. If murder is ok to make some cash. Election fraud is child's play. -
Dems have an outrage machine? Its supposed to work on republicans?? i.e. the poorly educated?

Its the cornerstone of the big lie of the gun lobby in the US. Yet many studies have been done with lots of empirical evidence. The feigned level headed, reasonable gun owner lays the same line of B.S. all the time. "Hemenway, David. Survey research and self-defense gun use: An explanation of extreme overestimates. Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. 1997; 87:1430-1445. Hemenway, David. The myth of millions of annual self-defense gun uses: A case study of survey overestimates of rare events. Chance (American Statistical Association). 1997; 10:6-10. Cook, Philip J; Ludwig, Jens; Hemenway, David. The gun debate’s new mythical number: How many defensive uses per year? Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. 1997; 16:463-469."

Typical left wing media reporting. Obviously the driver is a hero for simultaneously defending himself while driving a busy highway. Gun shop owners and republicans will celebrate the skill of the shooter and the benefits of a handy gun at all times.

Satellites showed Extremadura (central)in Spain at more than 60C in the last two days. Thats 140 F or only five degrees lower than what the USDA recommends as the minimum temperature for cooking meat. Hey Brent, ever been to Spain?

This is the same idiot that is holding up promotions in the Defense Department. 250 officers need their promotions cleared by the senate. The idiot has refused to advance them because the pentagon is paying for travel expenses associated with abortions or other reproductive care for service members.

i wonder if Farmers noticed those ocean temperatures before they decided to bail. Or if year after year of losses was enough. "Property insurance rates in Florida are predicted to jump at least 40 percent in 2023, according to the Insurance Information Institute. Mark Friedlander, the institute’s director of communications, said these increases come as Floridians are already paying more than homeowners in other states. “Right now, Floridians pay arguably the highest average premium in the U.S.,” he said. Friedlander said the average Florida homeowner is paying $4,231 for their property insurance, which is nearly triple the national rate of $1,544." It looks more and more like a Cat 5 summer. Meanwhile trump's legacy lives on in the USSC where trump appointed three of the six who struck Biden's measures in "West Virginia v. EPA" to limit the federal government’s authority to regulate carbon pollution from power plants.

How long is it going to take for republicans to understand that global warming is going to drive more refugees to the southern border?.....Just kidding its a rhetorical question. Everyone knows republicans don't trust the physical sciences.
