Charlottesville suspect called Heather Heyer’s mother ‘anti-white supremacist,' 'communist’ https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/420083-charlottesville-murder-suspect-accused-heather-heyers-mother-of "Jurors heard a taped phone call between Fields and his mother from jail in December 2017 going after Heyer’s mother Susan Bro, CBS 19 News reported Tuesday. Fields accused Bro of publicly slandering him and called her a “communist” and “anti-white supremacist.” “She lost her daughter,” his mother reminded him. “It doesn’t (expletive) matter,” Fields said. His mother advised him to “stop talking” but her son insisted that Bro is “the enemy.” “She is a communist, mother. … She is the enemy,” he said." Its always interesting to hear trump defenders develop and make a narrative that others need to "lighten up", "Model UN group", "Dial your sensitivity down', etc. Yet when the unhinged go over the edge to kill and maim. All feign ignorance and hide the ignition sources for the bonfire. They can throw out "Soros" and blow on the dog whistle. Then snicker that the shooter with the AR couldn't shoot more "jew financiers" of the elitists.

Agree. Remember the ideas of a clean Olympics. Its gone the way of professional cycling, thanks Lance Armstrong. Or is it just that media exposure has revealed whats always been a part of the events? Athletes like Barry Sanders who would score and hand the ball to the linesman without so much as fist pump. Have now been replaced by entire offenses acting as if they had just invented a new play. There has always been a segment of a population that worshiped kings, queens, the wealthy, war heroes, etc. ...Oh my thats what trump followers used to describe why they voted for him. Its interesting that Iago, Ron would throw celebrity into the discussion. When behind their political movement is nothing less than a crooked populist.Who used his wealth, helicopters, jets, and TV celebrity to paint himself as the savior of the disenfranchised. Straight from the Putin, FSB, playbook. Make counter accusations, lie, deny, peddle a false counter-narrative.

I disagree and usually you're right. Look at the yellow vest protests in France. Protesting not only against a new fuel tax. But against stagnant wages and poor social mobility. Look at all the democrat women who ran in the midterms, against men. Then won. Not because of Hollywood celebrities pushing a message. But because they created their own message that was better. Take the groundswell of millions of voters that have become politically active. Because they are sick of the venomous hate in the WH. Because they care about the environment, etc. Conservatives love to hate the Hollywood liberals types that fly to the protests in Gulfstream lVs. But refuse to recognize the conservatives building wind farms towards a zero emission future. I think you generalize about a legitimate, but small segment of the left and center. But what about Schwarzenegger, the Bush family, etc. Who have abandoned the right because of what trump has done to it. No its not a celebrity culture. Its one that refuses to stand when the government separates children from parents in prison camps.Refuses to ignore the dog whistles of hate. Who want something done about a national systematic gun culture. For which the sacrifice of innocents is acceptable in order to sustain a false constitutional narrative.

Is he the one, or does he believe that G.W. Bush was working for the C.I.A. in 1963 when President Kennedy was assassinated? That G.W. Bush was nefariously involved in that event? These questions arise from the link you mentioned referring to an earlier post of mine.

Nor was Jimmy Carter. Agree on the aforementioned. Nor G.W. Bush, nor McCain

We've been through this before, and it turns out Ron fully supports criminal or con-man behaviour as long as the perpetrator is 'winning'. I believe the concept you are searching for is pragmatism. At the president’s New Jersey golf course, an undocumented immigrant has worked as a maid since 2013. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/06/us/trump-bedminster-golf-undocumented-workers.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage During more than five years as a housekeeper at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., Victorina Morales has made Donald J. Trump’s bed, cleaned his toilet and dusted his crystal golf trophies. When he visited as president, she was directed to wear a pin in the shape of the American flag adorned with a Secret Service logo. Because of the “outstanding” support she has provided during Mr. Trump’s visits, Ms. Morales in July was given a certificate from the White House Communications Agency inscribed with her name. Quite an achievement for an undocumented immigrant housekeeper." You want a free society that dictates how its members should behave? I fixed it for him as it seems as if Ron is a little forgetful this AM.

This is the first I've heard of Bush family involvement in the assassination of another president. Please enlighten us all. Oh! and his subversion's of the law and protocols of the CIA during his term as leader.

The trump clan needed to pay for some upcoming legal expenses. Raising some quick cash on the markets was prescribed. Covering the short positions required a market correction. So: Donald J. Trump✔ @realDonaldTrump ....I am a Tariff Man. When people or countries come in to raid the great wealth of our Nation, I want them to pay for the privilege of doing so. It will always be the best way to max out our economic power. We are right now taking in $billions in Tariffs. Well duh. republicans figured out about 10 years ago how to use the constitution to win elections. Its all about the senate. Peddle a b.s. hate message to thinly populated states and screw the populous ones. Here is a longer story along the same lines: The GOP’s 2018 Autopsy: Democracy Is Our Enemy http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/12/wisconsin-republican-powergrab-gop-2018-autopsy-democracy-is-our-enemy.html That and gerrymandering. trump cultists scream about fraud stealing votes. Whey they engage in wholesale acts of gangster obstruction of democracy.

As Marc and Ron have said. Its not wrong when republicans do it. Only when Dem's do it. In the next election it will be up to motivated, educated American women. To save America from stupid, old white men.

If someone from the future had come back to your 22 year old self and told you that someday you'd support a US president who was a puppet of the Kremlin - would you have believed them? Well I have to come to Ron's defense here. The "Kremlin" isn't a communist state. Russia under President Putin is more accurately described as a gangster kleptocracy. Which doesn't take away anything from the intent of your post or question. As Russia acts to its own interests no different than the previous communist USSR. The lapdog aspirations of trump to become like President Putin or the Saudi MBS are evident in this RT(Russia Television) coverage of the "high five". Putin and Mohammed bin Salman share a high five… under Trump’s scrutinous eye https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sggVhrwSAFs trump wishing to have the power or kinship relationship/power of MBS, President Putin and/or Kim Jong-un. Who can and have all ordered the killing of journalists or critics. Domestically and in other countries. The donald can only dream of such brothership high fives. Las Vegas Shooting Recovery Will Cost at Least $600 Million https://www.newsweek.com/las-vegas-mass-shooting-will-cost-least-600-million-675982 Justice Department awards nearly $17M to aid Las Vegas shooting survivors https://fox61.com/2018/11/30/justice-department-awards-nearly-17m-to-aid-las-vegas-shooting-survivors/ Meanwhile in Canada: Niagara-area officer, shot several times in argument with fellow cop, in critical condition, SIU says https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2018/11/29/police-officer-seriously-injured-in-shooting-near-niagara-siu-says.html A Niagara Regional Police officer is in critical condition after being shot Thursday by a fellow officer during an altercation between the two men in rural Pelham, says provincial Special Investigations Unit spokeswoman Monica Hudon.... She couldn’t confirm the number of times the officer, identified by multiple police sources as Const. Nathan Parker, was shot. But those sources told The Standard Parker was hit at least five times. Parker has a long and troubled history with the NRP, having faced at least four disciplinary hearings, three of which involved violence. In 2015, Parker was docked 120 hours’ pay after pleading guilty to discreditable conduct and unnecessary use of force against a prisoner under the Police Services Act. In 2012, Parker was docked 60 hours of pay after pleading guilty to discreditable conduct after pursuing his own investigation into a commanding officer who had been cleared of wrongdoing from a previous incident. Parker was found guilty of using unnecessary force in 2011 and docked 90 days’ pay for arresting a cyclist without cause in 2008. And in 2007, Parker lost a week’s pay after he was found guilty in a disciplinary hearing for pepper-spraying a prisoner who was handcuffed and restrained in the back seat of a cruiser in 2005.

Those cost Costco nothing. The suppliers pay for both the product and they employ the workers handing them out. You can enjoy them right through the apocalypse. Are you telling me that my super secret black-ops internet friend is wrong??? For the believers he is right about some things. Every believer must stockpile the best spec'd AR-15's and bulk pack ammo. MRE's and survival supplies in your bug out vehicles or country compounds. Everything else changes depending on the sub-rosa message. "On 15 June 2018, Matthew Phillip Wright, a 30-year-old marine corps veteran from Henderson, Nevada, drove a homemade armoured truck to the middle of a bridge near the Hoover Dam in Arizona. He parked, blocking traffic, and got out, carrying a sign which said “Release the OIG report”, a reference to an investigation by the US Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector-General into Hillary Clinton’s email server scandal that had in fact already been released to the public earlier that week. In his other hand he was holding an AR-15 assault rifle. After a 90-minute standoff with Arizona police and a brief chase, Wright was arrested and charged with attempted terrorism. From his cell in the Mojave County jail, he then wrote two letters apologising for and excusing his misadventure. One was addressed to Nevada senators Dean Heller and Catherine Cortez Masto and rep. Dina Titus, and cc’d to almost every federal law enforcement agency; the other was addressed to President Donald Trump. In the former, he said that “I am no seditionist, nor do I want to overthrow the government,” continuing: “I understand that the evil and corruption is limited to a select few in power and that the greater good is doing its best to combat this.” In the latter, which is more personal in tone, he said that the American people “deserve nothing but the best. That is why we elected you as commander in chief, in spite of those whom I will not name that were attempting to obstruct our voice.” From: QAnon: inside the 4Chan conspiracy that suggests Donald Trump is a secret genius https://www.newstatesman.com/world/2018/08/qanon-inside-4chan-conspiracy-suggests-donald-trump-secret-genius

Troops at U.S. Border to Cost About $210 Million
Phil1111 replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
so your suggestion is that they follow the process, without knowing if there is a process, or if it is in any way a viable process. Basically your answer is: I don't care as long as brown people don't get into the country. We already know through your unfailing support of Trump, that you have absolutely no problem with the illegal immigration of white women willing to show their tits. There are legal avenues for immigration. Iago doesn't need to know exactly what those processes are to suggest people follow them, so your retort is a bit unfair. Why would he need to know the details? He's already a citizen. However, there are relatively few for unskilled people with no ties to the US... THAT'S what you're disagreeing about I suspect. I and others have made numerous posts in SC with regards to what the Canadian immigration application procedure is. He made several wrong statements with regards to how the US is different from Canada. Re posting the same articles again and again is fundamentally a waste of time. Currently there is a very limited debate in Canada with regards to the cost of processing US/Canada border immigrants without visas. Immediate action needed to stop 'irregular migration,' MP Harold Albrecht says https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/mp-albrecht-irregular-migration-1.4925706 "Kitchener-Conestoga MP Harold Albrecht says more needs to be done to "halt irregular migration" into Canada.... Irregular migrants are defined as migrants who cross the border between official ports of entry. The report said the average cost for each "irregular migrant" who entered Canada in the last year was $14,321 for a total cost to Canada of $340 million, and it's expected to grow to $16,666 per person in 2019-2020, or $396 million, due to case backlog. ... the MP for Kitchener-Conestoga. He says he has personally housed refugees and believes it's not right for irregular border crossers to be given priority over asylum seekers and immigrants who follow the proper channels... "I'm all for immigration, I'm all for resettling refugees, especially privately sponsored," he added. "I personally have housed refugees in my home, helped them find housing, helped them find OHIP coverage. All of these things are important to me personally, and to my community." But, he said, it's not appropriate for "irregular, or I'm going to say illegal border crossers to be given the priority that they're currently being given, and then expecting the average Canadian to foot the bill for this when they're not even going through the regular channels." Immigrants who go through regular channels are indignant with regards to the expense, delays,BS that they are forced to contend with. As compared to the "illegals" who cause expense from the second that they cross the border. On average its 12-18 months to completely deal with a 'irregular migration,' application. So basically its about $1k per month in cost. This dosn't account for the wages the applicant makes during their wait. Most find about 6-8 months of employment during the wait. Most have their applications refused. With deportation orders a result. Since they had previously worked in the US. Aren't subject to persecution in the US. There are many educated, skills qualified, applicants arriving through regular channels. -
One should expect a tantrum of tweets this weekend as the man-child digests this new development. Hillary, Comey, Mueller will be the targets of new and old accusations. Of course a judge signed off on the warrants. But for trump, FOX, Marc, Ron, et al, that won't distract from the outrageous narrative and indignation. The usual cast of trump apologists on FOX will wail about a special council out of control. But wait, Jeff Sessions is still evidently in charge of the special council oversight. Wasn't he appointed by trump!?!?

I'm in the same boat. Maybe Lee & you are correct. It just seemed to me that to keep flying was the poor choice. I wasn't there, I have only seen the video a number of times. Jerry Baumchen This has happened quite a few times before. B.C. hang-glider pilot pleads guilty in woman’s death A British Columbia hang-glider pilot whose failure to hook in his passenger caused a dramatic mid-air struggle, which ended with the woman falling 300 metres to her death, pleaded guilty Friday to criminal negligence. William Jon Orders pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing the death of 28-year-old Lenami Godinez-Avila, who fell from Orders' hang-glider shortly after takeoff above B.C.'s Fraser Valley on April 28, 2012. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/bc-hang-glider-pilot-pleads-guilty-in-womans-death/article16749684/ Prior to launch a safety check is done called a "hang check". Whereby you hang from your harness to ensure you are hooked in. You look up to your locking carabiner to ensure that your suspension harness in untangled, lines are straight and that you're hooked in. Its similar to ensuring flight controls of a AC are free. He should have immediately done a 180 turn and landed on the up slope of the hill he took off from. Most cases like this end up with the pilot falling to their deaths. Usually within a half minute or so of launch. The way the passenger was hanging from the lower control bar and the harness of the pilot. Wouldn't affect the control forces for the pilot much at all. As seen by the fact he was only flying with one arm for most of the flight down. The BC outcome would be the norm for this type of very serious mistake.

US farmers letting crops rot as storage costs rise due to China trade war https://thehill.com/policy/finance/417803-us-farmers-letting-crops-rot-as-storage-costs-rise-due-to-china-trade-war The farmers say they are unable to sell their grain to China due to Beijing's 25 percent tariff on U.S. soybeans. That punitive measure came in retaliation for duties imposed by Washington. It is now too costly to store the grain in elevators, or silos that store grain, Reuters reported. The cost of storing grain in elevators is reportedly two to three times more than it cost at this time last year. “I’ve never seen things this bad,” soybean farmer Russell Altom, who is senior vice president of agricultural lending at an Arkansas bank, told Reuters. “I know several farmers who hired lawyers, to see if they can sue over the pricing and fees issues.” Grain farmers have begun plowing under crops or leaving them to rot, hoping that prices will decrease soon, Reuters reported, citing interviews with more than 20 farmers, academic researchers and farm lenders." MAGA, more winning.

I don't necessarily disagree with most of what you're saying. But i would make two points. 1. Nothing that trump has done is going to help autoworkers. Nothing. Given that many voted for him, my sympathies are limited. 2. As per my previous posts. US automakers are all aiming for the exact same market segments. Trucks, SUVs and crossovers. trump, republicans and [GM, Ford,Chrysler(Fiat)] have one idea of trade Barriers, tariffs, etc. While the rest of the world, California(similar states) have this: EU lawmakers want 40% cut in new car and van CO2 emissions by 2030 https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/fleet-industry-news/2018/10/03/eu-lawmakers-want-car-and-van-manufacturers-to-cut-co2-emissions-40-by-2030 Beyond that, you don't study annual reports to see the future of industries. Thats what industry analysts are for. GM was wise to exit the EU. That market seems to be beyond the comprehension of GM executives. But then trump, republicans and their supporters don't comprehend the rest of the world either.

They didn't have anything to do with the GM restructure in progress. The brands being discontinued have had sales dropping 15-20% over the past years. By shutting down those brands, related facilities and trimming the workforce GM is getting as much cost out of the operation as possible. Happens all the time in industry with adjustment to changing consumer demands. Production shutdowns were a regular thing when I was in pulp and paper. Will those facilities reopen and produce new consumer demanded vehicles after further R&D? Possibly, but probably not for a few years. Depends on what happens with self-driving, electric, and fleet vehicle markets. That is partially correct. GM Cuts Jobs And Plants To Deal With Changing Tastes And Trump Tariffs https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidkiley5/2018/11/26/gm-cuts-jobs-and-plants-to-deal-with-changing-tastes-and-trump-tariffs/#5a9040c96057 It costs allot of money to open a auto assembly plant. They typically develop a huge nearby base of suppliers of parts and components. Many of which are located nearby. When a auto assembly plant is shifted to a new model the lines are retooled. Reorganized to take advantage of new technology and equipped with the metal stamping, painting and assembly process unique to the new models. It costs billions to shutter plants. There is the cost of severance of employees and the write off of the land, building, auto specific plant process, etc. Once closed they almost never reopen. Many of the employees will never work in a auto assembly plant again. GM to invest $877 million to overhaul Flint, Michigan, truck plant "In the past, GM and its domestic rivals would shut down production for weeks to retool for new models, stockpiling vehicles in advance and then discounting them once the new model appeared. People familiar with the company’s plans say GM’s next-generation pickups and SUVs will make use of various materials, including aluminum and lightweight steel, to shed weight and gain fuel efficiency to meet tougher federal standards. Assembling the new vehicles will require substantially different equipment than the tools GM uses today." https://www.reuters.com/article/us-gm-trucks/gm-to-invest-877-million-to-overhaul-flint-michigan-truck-plant-idUSKCN0Q91IK20150804 So at a cost of, perhaps, $1 billion per plant GM could have retooled these plants for new fuel efficient sedans for offshore markets. But it has chosen instead to compete with the other two of the "Big Three" legacy US auto makers for the same US markets of trucks and SUVs. Instead there will be layoffs. Think trump. Ford is remaining in the EU despite slim profits. GM lost billions, upwards of $20 billion.Hence its exit from EU operations in 2016-17. Fiat Chrysler is gaining market share with some profits.
