National protests against Minneapolis police murderers?
Phil1111 replied to normiss's topic in Speakers Corner
Agree but the continuous barrage of news and videos like this are undermining all of the hard work that they do. It seems as if a day doesn't go by without a similar new disclosure. -
I'm against fascism, against communism, against trump . Since trump sees ANTIFA under every rock. I joined UP! Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, says the modern American Antifa movement began in the 1980s with a group called Anti-Racist Action. Its members confronted neo-Nazi skinheads at punk gigs in the American Midwest and elsewhere. By the early 2000s the Antifa movement was mostly dormant - until the rise of Donald Trump and the alt-right. I personally hate work boots with steel shanks and steel toes. They are super heavy and uncomfortable to wear all day. But I dug them out just in case. My Hero! “He has this kind of thirst for justice,” Mr. Washington said.

85 shot, 24 fatally, over Chicago’s most violent weekend of 2020 Twenty-four people were killed and at least 61 others were wounded by gun violence in Chicago’s most violent weekend of the year so far, which also saw widespread protests, riots and looting throughout the city in the wake of the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd. More than half of the weekend’s victims were shot on Sunday as the city reeled from violent protests Saturday night that led to hundreds of arrests and the implementation of a curfew. Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said Monday that of the total fatal shootings over the weekend, 17 homicides occurred on Sunday alone. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed 15 for Sunday, with another three at unknown locations. The weekend’s toll surpasses the tally from the same weekend in 2019, when 52 people were wounded — 8 fatally — in citywide gun violence. Across medically treated cases, costs average U.S.$154,000 per gunshot survivor. Gun violence costs the US $229 billion annually: Report I'm sorry Turtle what was your point about Canada, the US and guns?

Well you're certainly free to use your search function to look for stupid Canadians. Perhaps ones that overheat their igloos and have to move into a tent in the summertime. Or Two RCMP officers criminally charged by ASIRT in 2018 police-involved shooting that left one man dead Or Canada Bans Assault Weapons in Wake of Deadly Mass Shooting If Canada elected someone like trump he would be removed in short order. With the current PM there was the "Blackface" affair prior to the last election. Under Trudeau Canada has slipped three places on the world transparency international corruption index. because of what he did to cover up a Quebec based corporation's bribery scandal in Libya. The substantive difference is that trump is a racist. Canadian politicians who have gone anywhere near what trump routinely does. get the boot from their respective parties or jobs. Almost immediately. There are dog whistling Canadian politicians. They are seldom elected. Immigration almost a non issue. There is a current issue 'Almost half of Canadians want border with U.S. to remain closed until end of 2020: poll" because of the concerns of the lack of discipline of trump and the C-19 issue.

"The Federal Court has approved interim payments of $21,000 to people whose applications under the Sixties Scoop settlement have already been approved. The COVID-19 pandemic had caused unexpected challenges in administering Canada's $875 million class action settlement agreement with Sixties Scoop survivors, including delays that some survivors say are creating a lot of frustration." Canada: thousands of travelers affected as Indigenous-led rail blockade continues Thousands of travelers in Canada have been affected and billions of dollars worth of freight traffic delayed as an Indigenous-led blockade of critical rail lines continues to cripple the country’s train network....For the past week, Tyendinaga Mohawk protesters in Ontario have defied a court injunction and blocked railway tracks in support Wet’suwet’en activists in British Columbia who are locked in a standoff over a multibillion-dollar natural gas pipeline that would cross through their traditional territory." In the second story the Indian band made a deal to approve the pipeline. But traditional chiefs of that band didn't approve it. They blocked national rail lines, ignored court orders and the RCMP did nothing acting under instructions of the Prime Minister. Those stories are both in the last year. To some extent the pipeline protests were environmentalist supported, not just native Indians.

When the institutions of the state are corrupt trying to change that is like beating your head against the wall. Letters mean nothing, face to face complaints mean nothing. As an example the hierarchy of FIFA knew of corruption, outsiders were aware of it for a decade before it finally came to a head with the FBI launching an investigation. Look what happened to Vindman At All the President’s Whistleblowers So Much for ‘Whistleblower’ Coverage of Epstein -

Nobody has helped the trump farming base milk the US taxpayer more. Under trump the annual farm subsidies went from $10 billion to $22 billion and a total of $28 billion to the start of 2020. Yet like his casino business and hotels trump has led US agriculture to bankruptcy. “Now, we stand to lose all of what was a $9.1 billion market in 2018, which was down sharply from the $19.5 billion U.S. farmers exported to China in 2017.” The despair of trumps fumbles, missteps and stupidity has driven farm bankruptcies to the highest levels in a decade(end 2019). Which has all acted to punish US farmers for their mistake in voting for trump: "It has been insane. We've had a lot of farmers—a lot more bankruptcies going on, a lot more farmer suicides. These things are highlighting many of the news stories in our local news." trump's trade deal with China, his famous cave "Phase #1? "Through the first four months of 2020, China has imported only about 45 percent of what it would have had to buy to be on pace to meet the deal's goals, according to an analysis of trade data from both countries by the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE)." trump promised to punish Canada for being nice guys and tear up NAFTA. So this is what happened: "A USDA study shows that Canadian shipments of wheat to China have grown over 400% in two years. The report said, “Canada’s share of total Chinese imports of wheat has rocketed above 60% in marketing year 2018/19, up from 32% in marketing year 2017/18, as U.S. wheat exports to China have plunged and Australian exportable supplies have fallen sharply."

Its official "the first recession since 2009, when the last recession ended, and marks the end of the longest expansion — 128 months — in records dating back to 1854. Only someone with trumps lack of business acumen. Could bring such success to an end. Or so says the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Business Cycle Dating Committee"...data out last week showed, unemployment.. but that is higher than the peak jobless rate in the Great Recession....growth is expected to contract by a 34 percent rate in the second quarter Yet his promise was “We're bringing it (the GDP) from 1 percent up to 4 percent. And I actually think we can go higher than 4 percent. I think you can go to 5 percent or 6 percent.” So he promises 6% and delivers negative 34%

Thats why its OK for Putin to claim the Crimea and eastern Ukraine as Russian. The Ukrainians should have defended it better. The Tulsa Massacre? Well as Clint Eastwood said "they should have armed themselves".They should have had AA weapons to defend themselves from the use of aircraft bombing their homes. Foolish Blacks of Tulsa, spending money on education, business and nice homes. A Long-Lost Manuscript Contains a Searing Eyewitness Account of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 An Oklahoma lawyer details the attack by hundreds of whites on the thriving black neighborhood where hundreds died 95 years ago.

The exceptionalism of which Turtle holds LE cannot be assailed. Slashing the tires of protestors, assaulting news media covering the protestors, fabricating incident reports are all acceptable. Because LE needs these protections from a violent society which only LE can keep muzzled. Blue lives matter. -
When 511 Epidemiologists Expect to Fly, Hug and Do 18 Other Everyday Activities Again trump, states Governors, your boss, your kids, etc. All have ideas as to when you should go to a restaurant, go on a A/C, visit the mother-in-law, etc. This lengthy article racks the risk of such actions together with when the experts in C-19 would do it themselves. Perhaps stock market investors should temper their current bull run.

Not unprecedented in his usual style to maintain some sort of personal cognitive peace. Just as I have now had to start watching TV with a remote permanently glued to my hand. In case a trump ad appears and I have to switch channels. The next five months will likely require extra remote batteries.

Completely agree but it always has to be remembered that looters liability is not attached to individual peaceful protestors.Just as the murder next door shouldn't result in a term in prison for you. -

I'll admit i never watched the video posted by Ron as the usual proof of facts that Ron submits are way, way out there. I did read the title of the video in the link. So here is Scientific American and its response to the BS defamation of Floyd the victim in order to deflect blame, deflect liability. George Floyd's Autopsy and the Structural Gaslighting of America first off the story is a lie. There was no weed, fentanyl or meth in his system, period. Numerous versions of his autopsy have been released. NONE has found these drugs in his system. Hypertension and heart disease were found as contributing factors. Both of those contributing factors are irrelevant to the proximate cause of death. -
Your church must be very happy.

About a decade ago there was a big program in NYC cracking down on all small crimes. With the presumption that petty crime leads to felonies. Seems as if LE itself may have the answers. Inside the first database that tracks America’s criminal cops From 2017 -

There are no bad teams only bad leaders. Those 57 are certainly a cohesive bunch but its surprising that none would recognize the fatal flaw in their collective thinking. I'd suggest that there is too much of the thin blue line and not enough of the protect the public, protect the rights of everyone out there, empathy for those we serve reinforced at every meeting. -

Evidently the two cops involved in pushing the man to the ground in Buffalo have now been charged with 2nd degree assault. I'd suggest that all of the cops that resigned the Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team. Need some sort of retraining with regards to their duties as officers to the public, the constitutional right to protest and how not to be douches in uniform. -

IMO the video is prima facie of assault. There were few other protestors around. The line of police were advancing, acknowledged elsewhere as acting under orders to move protesters farther away. The one officer who appeared to bend over to assist the man was stopped by another officer. -
Perspective, It takes 4-5 drinks in a cop to loosen them up because they are all so straight laced. About 1-2 drinks less than a pilot.

Well they supplied the burgers, they supplied the beer, they supplied the ammo and I supplied the laughs...er instruction. I call it a win, win.

Most importantly less intimidating than a Kevlar vest although they are distracting.
