Yeah, they are !!TIGHT!! about the asthma. I'd just tell him to make sure and tell them about it, and if he hasn't had any problems with it for a while now not to worry about it. I had to use an inhaler once (literally one time) when I had a bad case of bronchitus and they hammered me with that wanting to know if it was asthma. all you can do is tell them, cause if you son't and they find out then you are in trouble. Also, Jimbo, You know how there are things in life that are important and other things that aren't? Thanks for pointing out that there could always be worse things happen to me.

I've been suspecting this for a week or so now, but I got the official word today that the navy won't take me. I was trying to get in, but apparently my eye being a little bit out of whack was enough for them to not really want me around. Dammit!! I was really kind of counting on that since I'm tired of being stuck here and I really want to travel while I work. Oh well, yes, life goes on, but I'm allowed one evening of being unhappy about it. I think that officially qualifies as a postwhoring "bump" Sebazz

Traditoin does call for beer, but which kind is generally up to the buyer. Beware though, cheep beer is generally frowned upon. Doesn't have to be the best, but better not be some PBR or Beast Lite crap either. As far as substituting spirits, that's kinda up to the people who will be partaking, but I'd suggest sticking with the beer.

Old Fart, on 12th or 13th childhood...

Ah, my mistake. Either way, you do still post with grown-up puntuation Makes you a bit of a rarity, but not too much of one. As far as the teams go, I'm pretty much in the same boat. Never have been in, never will be, but I would surely love to try. I was trying to get in the navy but I just found out a couple days ago that since my right eye is kind of messed up they won't accept me. Oh well. By the way, you just used lyrics from my favorite PF song. Truman Sparks for President -
First of all, riggerrob is right, they both work and they both end up costing you about the same. Of course, I'm gonna have to agree with this statement by Ron as well: I started out SL and in less than a week I was already on a better basis with the staff and the hardcore jumpers than some of the students who'd been jumping for months. I also feel like I learned a lot about the intangibles of the sport that you don't get unless you're around it. Plus I 'personally' feel that it requires more from the student in the way of patince, which is good. Just my opinion there, though. Truman Sparks for President

I just had a totally unrealistic but entirely amusing picture of a reserve deploying and a really freaked out cat landing on some poor sob's head Truman Sparks for President

yes on all counts, plus the fact tha you seem like you'll be able to post intelligently on whatever the subject, plus the fact that I gather you are/were in the navy, and even though they did just kinda piss me off I still have much respect for them. And if your like any other SEAL I've ever met you've got a rather entertaining wild side that's probably lurking just below the surface of these respectable sounding posts. -
Welcome to the forums! Now I must confess, I, too, drink tea. I drink coffee, too, especially on cold mornings, but I'm not above lowering myself to the level of a cup of tea occasionally Other than the gentleman part I'm sure you'll fit in just fine Truman Sparks for President

No suggestions since I've never jumped anywhere near the west coast, but I thought I'd go ahead and say welcome anyhow Have fun, be safe, and have fun. Truman Sparks for President -

Nope, not sleeping right this second, but if you remember talking lat night then you may remember me saying something about either sleeping or getting coffee. I chose the coffee. Result after this busy day is that in about 1 minute I will have been conscious for exactly 36 hours. I won't be awake much longer than that Truman Sparks for President

Thanks for that thread title. I've been trying to figure out the feeling this badness has given me, and that summed it up. To expand that idea, we as skydivers are pretty fond of the whole if riding in a boat is swimming then riding in a plane is flying. Maybe these people weren't skydiving, but they had that same core idealism that we all have. They train hard to push the limits. And yes, I think it's safe to say they fly even more than we do. We all feel tiny when when we skydive, that's why most of us say it puts thngs back in pespective for us. Imagine how it is for them. On that note, Blue skies, and yes, black death. I know my heart, all of our hearts, go out to them. Truman Sparks for President

That's a pretty cool site, more so since I love the movie. Looks like it'll be a while for the sequel to get here, but it ought to be worth the wait. On that note, have fun, I may be back on in a bit, but I need a power nwp before I go move my grandparents to their new house. That or a pot of coffee. Truman Sparks for President

I had no idea that was happening. Any word on when it might show up? Truman Sparks for President
