After doing spirals etc, I always make a point of looking up and checking the end-cells etc. to make sure they're still inflated. You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!

You might get more responses if you put this in the Swooping and canopy Control forum. The best advice I can give you is to keep to a left (or right) landing pattern, and take note of what the winds are doing. If you're going to overshoot, do S turns, but only if you're not going to cut other people off (ie. you're the only person landing in that area). I got it through practice. Good luck !! My first kit (which is on the way) is brand new. I had the money so I went for it. I found buying 2nd hand kit to suiot me was a real pain, plus the deal I got was only about 200 GBP more than a good 2nd hand rig anyway -
I've tried a Vortex II, Superfly, Jav Ody, and they're all really comfortable etc. Most new rigs would be ok I think. You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!
