    Yeah, I usually pay somewhere around $80 per jumper regardless of the size of the basket. I do balloon jumps every chance I get, and have gone with several different operators. $800 for 4 seems VERY steep....     Hey Gary, I finally gave in and upgraded to a smartphone but wanted to stay with Verizon also. I was trying to hold out for the iPhone with Verizon, but now that I have a Motorola Droid (the Droid 2 wasn't in stock when i bought it) I really love it! Especially if you're already using Google stuff, which I was...it's great if you're already using gmail, google calendar, picasa, etc. I was a little confused when I first started looking at phones, because Android is the OS, not the type of phone. So I belieive Samsung and other manufacturers make a phone that is also called the Droid, but I really like my Motorola one....

    I sure did! And I forgot to mention our new little DZ is doing great and got a PAC for the winter!!!! Too bad I stopped jumping in August.

    That was a tough question, took some thought, but after thinking about it I have decided that 2010 was probably the best year ever! In 2009 I got married and went to St. Lucia so that was pretty awesome. But in 2010 we went to the boogie in Belize and jumped into the Blue Hole, to Normandy for D Day and watched 500 paratroopers do a reenactment, did my largest formation jumps to date, was selected for a leadership program at work, AND I got knocked up (on purpose).

    I totally agree with everything you said, except that Skydive East TN (just east of Knoxville) is a MUCH closer driving distance to Ann Arbor than West TN. Knoxville is about 500 miles from Ann Arbor, straight shot down I-75. West TN is over 700 miles. I hate to discourage you from coming to visit Skydive East Tennessee (they did 3 PAC loads yesterday and a handful of Cessna 206 loads...would have done more from the PAC if people had shown up earlier. ), but if Start Skydiving in Ohio is open that would be much closer for you.     Yay!!! All you Nashville jumpers come visit us! Like Matt said, it's a 3 hour drive from Nashville. Just east of downtown Knoxville, about 5 minutes off exit 407 on I-40. I'd call ahead and let them know you're coming, just make sure they plan on flying the PAC before you make the trip. They jump during the week too, when there's enough interest or they have tandems or students scheduled. I'm not sure if it's 9 or 10 to make the plane fly, but we have a pretty good group of regular up jumpers, so even if you don't have quite enough people from Nashville there should be enough to make the PAC fly. And they do keep pretty busy with tandems and students too.

    That was classic, I was so glad I was there for that!!! Not sure if I'll be jumping, but we'll be there with Babylicious in tow!!! Hell, she's the direct result of a certain Boogie on St. Patrick's Day so I think we'd better bring her along. Can't wait!!!

    Just wanted to get the word out there that there is going to be a PAC750 spending the winter at Skydive East Tennessee, just east of Knoxville!!!! The PAC is already on the field and they plan to fly it whenever they have enough people. The DZ still has the Cessna 206 and 182's available too. So if you're traveling through the area or want to make a special trip, it really is a great dropzone, and even better now with a turbine!

    Emerald Coast Skydiving center might be worth looking into too, although it' *technically* in Alabama (near Pensacola). Not sure what type of plane they have over the winter, but it sure is some beautiful jumping and fits the description of what you're looking for.     Thanks for the defense, I most definitely did NOT mean Blue Bell!!!!!! I used to work at Graeters and there really isn't anything remotely close to it. But the chips in their pint containers are never as good as the ones from the 5 gallon containers that are in the stores. I used to scoop out the biggest chips for myself, we could eat anything we wanted when we were at work. Mmmmmm, the good old days.

    I thought he was talking about the chili too. I grew up in Cincinnati and I LOVE it. I made my husband try it once, and now when we go to Cincy to visit he requests that we stop there. Skyline is much better than Gold Star, BTW. I recently discovered a bar that just opened up within walking distance from our house in Tennessee that has Cincinnati chili on the menu. Haven't tried it yet, but supposedly they make it in-house. Found out the owners are damn Yankees like me, originally from a town near Cincinnati too.

    :0:40 No jumps for me, taking a break until after January . But Skydive East Tennessee had an excellent weekend with PERFECT weather and a fabulous airplane. The Pac flew 23 loads Saturday and 17 loads Sunday, so that's 40 loads between the 2 days. I know because I was working manifest. Man, after working manifest I can't wait to get back in the air!!! They did a few Friday afternoon, not sure how many because I had to work at my real job. What a great weekend at SET!

    You should always be able to find someone to jump with at the Farm. Hans (the DZ manager) is really good about setting visitors up with people to jump with, according to interests.     That's what they said about my son too when I had an ultrasound. LOL, yeah, I'm a little worried about that because I know they're not 100% accurate...but we have a very clear picture of the "hamburger" and I'm at 23 weeks, so I would think that if something extra were to start growing down there it should have already started. So did you end up dressing your son in a lot of pink outfits??? And sorry Turtle for no little t, maybe next time...
