Oh, and I'm not drinking because I'm training for the marathon in November, so that sort of killed any nighttime festivities I might have had planned. :D _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

About 3 hours, actually. And the only reason I left was because I had this home waiting for me for the weekend... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Eloy rocked! Got two jumps in, practiced my sit (getting better, feet DOWN, dammit!) and then just did one to watch the view. Lovely. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Parachutes Still OK for U.S. Travel

Flew out of Newark to Phoenix today without a problem. Rig was carried on in a gear bag. Laptop in my backpack was swabbed. Rig, WITH A HOOK KNIFE, went right through, no issues, not even so much as a rescan. It's all good. Just have the printout and the Cypres card (if needed) ready to show. This is Domestic, FYI. Flights to/from GB (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanset, the like) don't expect to be allowed to take carryon. But domestic is fine. No worries. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 3E is my seat. Sat there one day and someone had checked in before me and they moved me to 3B. He got pissed when I was in 'my' seat. The FA told him to calm down. That's normally where he sits. It's scary that I'm starting to see the same flight crews over and over. the workers at the President's Club at Newark ask me how my two cats are. I really, really need a girlfriend and a life. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

Just got my upgrade to Phoenix. If nothing else, I'll get anally probed by security, and my butt will heal in a first class seat. Woo! Big kid seat!! Gotta love Continental's emails - I actually have Outlook programmed for a special email alert if it finds the word "Elite" within 10 words of "new" and "seat assignment." I'm such a dork. But a dork sitting in the front of the bus! Yee-haa!! _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

I know he was. And apologies for spelling the name wrong. Still chaps my ass, though. The image of the four-year-old getting wanded. I just hate knowing that we live in a world of blind sheep. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

You know, as scary as that movie with Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis... What was it, The Siege? was, the point was dead on. In impolite force vs. political correctness, impolite force will lose, every time. Until political correctness gets 2,000 people in a mall killed in middle america. don't even get me STARTED on the divying up of HS funds, and how my city, New York, got elephant fucked AGAIN by some fucking Senator who needs to protect his cornfield. Arrgh. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

Ask yourself, Piishy... do you really want to start this war on this thread with someone who travels close to 200,000 miles per year? With someone who wound up walking back to security to return a hand-wand that they LEFT IN MY BAG? With someone who managed to go through security and fly from NYC to LAX with a BOX of razor blades in my bag because I forgot to take them out and they were never checked? With someone who a month ago had a flight cancelled and got put on another airline's flight that left at the NEXT GATE, and the ticket now had SSSS on it even though the original one never left and I NEVER LEFT THE SECURED AREA? You don't, do you? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

What the posts are saying here is that the security steps we see are nothing but window dressing. BINGO. That's EXACTLY the point. I wouldn't complain, hell, I'd be the first person to applaud, if the TSA actually DID ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE instead of making Grandma take off her shoes. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" What's that line from "Evita?" Oh what a circus, oh what a show? It's all bullshit. There's NOTHING safer about air travel today than there was on 9/10/01, except for US - WE'RE smarter, and WE'RE being more aware. CERTAINLY not the TSA. Take off your shoes, Grandpa. Yeah, I feel secure. Whatever. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

As long as you can lactate on demand, you'll be fine. Seriously, though, you'll have to carry baby formula with you and be prepared to drink it in front of the screener. No boxes of tissues. No hand wipes. It's so fucking stupid. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

In my perfect world, I see it as everyone would wind up finding like-minded/compatible people to sit with - people ranging from the large to the thin, the moms with kids to the businesmen who hate kids, the college kid looking to get laid, the 75-year-old gentleman looking for a companion to tour Italy... It's all good. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -

With new terror plot - Rigs on planes in US? Betting no?
ntrprnr replied to ntrprnr's topic in The Bonfire
\ Agree with everything you said. I'm Platinum, so I'm always first on the plane anyway - tons of room. The issue though NOW, is, having carried my rig on before with no problems, the TSA this morning has just implemented a whole host of what can be be carried on and what can't. That's where I'm coming from - Difference in TSA attitudes between 11pm last night and 7am tomorrow morning will be astounding. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" In a perfect world, that woudn't be SO terrible. Of course, we don't live in a perfect world, so yes, that would suck. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
