    Interesting point, and well put. Let's not forget that you're a US citizen. You're alleged crime occurred on US soil. This scenario wouldn't happen to you, even with the people in our current adminstration. The people in Gitmo are not US citizens. Nor are they considered "legal combatants" by our current government. And, they were captured during combat with our troops. Thus, they're "illegal combatants", and we're still figuring out what to do with them. We are all engines of karma

    My boss at that time was supposed to be at the top of the 1st tower at a financial software conference. The only reason he lived that day was due to production problems. He came into work instead. My boss's neighbor had a young son who was on the bond desk at Cantor. They actually spoke just after the first plane hit. Everyone was being told to stay in their desks, so that's what the guy's son did (not that he could have gotten out anyway). The son died. My lawyer had just closed a deal whereby a web designer had sold his product to Cantor. The web designer died, also. We are all engines of karma

    Yes, I have. I work in NYC. This culture clash is very real, and won't be going away soon, unless the US effectively accepts it as a culture clash and puts our best resources behind it on that basis. We are all engines of karma

    As I've said before, this quoted newspaper article really bothered me. The United States of America, and other western countires, are in a culture clash with Islam, IMO. Based upon input to this thread, I've spent some time talking to other very knowledgeable people, and debating this issue with them. Islam means "submission". The practice of Islam general includes the use of "Inshallah" (sp?), which means "If God wills it". This is a complete abdication of personal responsbility. Thus, moderate Muslims don't turn out their radicals. Islam has not gone through their "Reformation". And we're all dealing with it. We are all engines of karma

    These are my NYC gripes: 1) Fat people who weave as they walk up the stairs. It's difficult enough getting around your fat ass without having to judge your sideways rythym, too. 2) Ladies who wait until they're IN THE SUBWAY STALL to dig in their purse to find their subway pass.
