Pilot Uses Police Chopper to Run Personal Errand
regulator replied to regulator's topic in The Bonfire
http://rawjustice.com/2011/01/14/pilot-uses-police-chopper-to-run-personal-errand/ It comes as no surprise that officers may sometimes use police vehicles to run personal errands. However, the vehicles used are usually cars, not helicopters. Pilot David Dennison pushed the envelope by actually using a Tampa police helicopter to drop a fishing net off to a friend. Dennison has worked for the Tampa Police Department since 2000 and has been a pilot for the department since 2002. When he was caught making the unauthorized flight, he admitted doing it. Honestly, there’s not really a lie or excuse that would have worked. He has been suspended for five days without pay for the misuse of police equipment. -
so you can use the TV as a montor...But I'd suggest using it as a secondary monitor. The max resolution youd get out of a TV is 1920 X 1080. Not that that's bad by any stretch, but when you use DVI it automatically adjusts each time you turn the computer on and I never have to touch my monitors because they are using the DVI interface. The TV is good...but Id use is as a secondary monitor and get a fat primary monitor...but most of them are pretty expensive...I bought two 24 inch monitors for the price of one massive one...mine were around 550 each. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8277

Just use the HDMI outputs from the video card. I just bought a new alienware computer when my wife and myself won ten grand at the casino. My computer has two 24 inch monitors...I use the DVI outputs, but my video cards (I have dual ATI Radeon 5870's running in CrossfireX mode and they look so good it makes you wanna slap your momma.

So since you are pretty good with R/C (from what I hear) how were they able to transmit the video feed from the plane remotely, or were did they just mount something like a gopro to the bottom...but in any case theres no way that they could guide this by sight. So how did they control it like this?

If you really need to use XP, I'd go the Bolas route and get a VMware shell and run a virtual XP OS. Just make sure you stacked with ram otherwise running multiple OS's could affect overall system performance. And Microsoft stopped supporting and distributing XP late last year.

Just call pretending to be from the phone company and ask if they have caller ID and if not, would they be interested in it. If the guy yells NO! and hangs up. Call them back and say "That's because you're a JACKASS!" ---------------------------------------------------------- Does anyone else see the irony of getting advice about phone calls from the deaf guy? Or is it just me?

Check this video out...you will totally DIG Ableton! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xzldehIsCE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDoKgQU-a8A&feature=related

Let me show you some vids of folks using ableton in a live setting. If you use kontakt then you wont need any instruction.

I will say that one of the major things about Reason is that it can be used to create basic loops...to advanced trance songs depending on your knowledge level. And if you are an advanced user, hit the key and it will flip the interface around and you can manually patch cables just like you were in the studio plugging in drum machines, synths, mixers...you name it. Its a killer application that will keep you busy for years to come...but it also works in conjunction with Ableton, which is what I would use in a LIVE situation since you can cue any sample in real time and inserted into your current session that will be on time. Both are amazing apps...and I have both on Bit Torrents already downloaded. Let me know if you want a copy ...hit me up on a PM

When I lived in Dallas my roommate worked for Guitar Center for 15 years...I picked his brain for three years straight...from anything like ASDR basics to drum machines....you name it I'd say the two first apps I mentioned...are the best at what they do...kicking ass and taking names http://www.ableton.com/ http://www.propellerheads.se/ Now I will say that reason is LESS easy to start off and learn...if you are proficient at using Sonar then you might be able to pick it up without any instruction, but if you are new to music apps...it might be a little hard to handle right off the bat.

Dude...Kontakt is KRAZY hard...but what I would look into is a ProTools setup.. this is of course if you have MAD CASH...since it'll cost around 10 grand to start off...this includes a 24 channel mixer and the software to interface...synths...and so forth. I'd say give ableton a shot...you can use it LIVE...hence the name ABLETON LIVE...its a killer application. Its got a ton of plug-ins...synths and drum kits. You can also manually input midi interfaces, or of course you can go out and buy a cheap keyboard-only keyboard...like an USB 88 key keyboard for around a hundred bucks...then you can use that with the midi interface.

I jumped a 190 while in training for my A and got a 190 when I got my license...I was doing like you...landing within 20 meters of the target...then I started jumping in no wind days and that shit started kicking my ass. There are a lot of variables you probably havent accounted for and I'd suggest you put AT LEAST 200 jumps on what you are used to before downsizing ANY SIZE down. You may not think its that big of a deal...but trust me when I was eating shit coming in on final I was so totally glad I didn't downsize. And on to your original question I saved up during the cold parts of the year and bought a brand new container, new AAD, new reserve and a used main. The container fits like a spandex vagina and the double wide leg strags are so much more comfortable than the other rig I was jumping as a student...but at least you arent like the other jackass that was asking about mounting a gopro on your helmet before you got your A license. Good luck my friend

I've been using Reason and Ableton Live for years now...along with fruity loops, Acid, and several other applications and plug-ins. Whatcha wanna know?

----------------------------------------------------------- Damn Girl...have you ever considered anger management classes?

And this: And I, too, can't wait for Fred Phelps to die. Because the church will almost certainly die when he does. Wendy P. ---------------------------------------------------------- For once I'd have to disagree with you Wendy. If you ever watch a youtube video of his daughters you would know that they are just as mind-fucked as he is...and he has passed his fucked up legacy onto the young ones which are being bred to live out his desires after his death. I personally think they all should be seperated...the young ones below 15 should be taken away to be rehabilitated and the older ones who are unwilling to change should be executed. They're worthless pieces of shit that deserve what that unfortunate judge had happen to him.

----------------------------------------------------------- Why doesnt some 'nutjob' just fucking firebomb these assholes instead of some innocent people that didnt deserve it like the people from arizona. below is just funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8cN2pB3MCE
-
---------------------------------------------------------- If you just finished up your A license requirements then you would know that you need a minimum of 25 jumps for your A license. And if these people you spoke with truly are instructors then then wouldnt have told you to get a gopro in the first place. So do you live under a bridge and look like the attached picture? In any case if you arent trying to get under anyones skin, then quit being a jabroni and get some gear that would help you, rather than looking like a damn lawn dart.

Hells Angels' May Help Block Westboro Protest!
regulator replied to skyrider's topic in Speakers Corner
Isnt it rather ironic that these guys who back in the days used to be literal hellions who would possibly rather run you over than help you out...are now on the side of good. Dont get me wrong...I'm not complaining, and I'd welcome their presence in a heartbeat...its just kinda kewl how as you get older life gets more precious...even for rugged dudes like these. -
And I will defend the right to kick these fuckers asses if I ever see them in my town...just like this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGKx2pTBQc

Arizona just passed a law that protestors cannot be within 300 feet of a funeral. I just saw this on cnn.com http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/01/11/arizona.shooting/index.html?hpt=T1 Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, has made its name by staging protests at funerals of people who died of AIDS, gay people, soldiers and even civil rights leader Coretta Scott King. As for Loughner, he appeared in a Phoenix federal courtroom Monday to formally hear the charges against him -- including two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of attempting to kill a member of Congress. Randy Loughner, the suspect's father, asked a neighbor to tell reporters camped outside the family's Tucson home Monday that he would eventually make a public statement. "Right now he can't talk. He can't get out three words without crying," neighbor Wayne Smith told CNN affiliate KGUN. Smith said the family had called him Monday and asked for help bringing in the mail at their home. Smith said Randy and Amy Loughner were devastated, but did not know why their son allegedly shot 20 people Saturday. "They have no idea," Smith told CNN affiliate KVOA. "They're as blind on it as we are."

Republicans introduce bill to eliminate presidential 'czars'
regulator replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
I remember hearing about the 'energy czar' you are referring to when I was growing up. But I have no clue about any current czars and what powers they posess, so I'm going to keep my mouth (fingers) shut on this one.
