    Too much T & A?

No. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  2. Congrats to both you and Emmalee! How often do you plan on giving out the award? Is this an annual thing or sort of on a case-by-case basis? "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  3. OMG that would be *great*! But I'd need help with something like that cuz I'm not very right-brained! "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  4. Heh. That's Greg. What's really funny is he actually jumped in that outfit! I missed the video but I heard it was hilarious! "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  5. Nope. Just standard goggles. I've been thinking about getting the SportRX goggles as well, since I normally wear glasses & hate screwing with contacts on my jump days. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  6. Got a whole buncha pictures out at Spaceland on Friday. So many in fact that I have three sets: General Pics: I really like the overexposed one with the three canopies coming in. I also have a few of me geeking the camera when I took it up for the sunset jump (that is the DZ between my feet). Pies & SCR. Nuff said!
  7. Cool t-shirt! Happy b-day dude! "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  8. Dang Slap! You need to organize these get-togethers more often! (Like Paula said... this is not a boogie! Got it? ) At the rate we're going we may have to do some funky Texxas Star or something!
  9. It's on the southwest side of Houston. Near Angleton. Here's the map from Spaceland's web page. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."

    new pub stuff...

Yeah actually that would kind of fun to write. And I may have an awful lot of spare time on my hands here in the next few days.... *cough* *cough* "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."

    Web Site Is Up

Well, at least the Beta version. It's still a pretty rough around the edges, but at least it's sort of presentable and has some content. http://tlbiggs.dyndns.org/ted/skydiving/ "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  12. Hey all you swingin' Taliban singles! This site is for you! "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  13. LOL! That's classic! Dare I ask what she was singing? "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  14. Funny. I was thinking the same thing about the ladies! I'm gonna start taking it out regularly & create a little online scrapbook. So The Lovely Paula will soon assume her rightful place on the site as well.
  15. OK. Snowflake's in the base. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  16. I fly a "regular" Sabre now. When I demo'd the Sabre2 I asked the PD folks whether I needed to roll/stuff the nose and they said no. So I cleared the lines, quartered the slider, rolled the tail and pro packed it. The person who used it after me is still alive and has a back so I guess it opened OK for them. 17. Ya know what we ought to do since we have this big mix of freefliers and RW people... dz.com hybrid dive!
  18. Isn't hacky in town that weekend too? "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  19. BTW. Thanks all for the complements. It gives me warm fuzzies. And of course Ann, picture theft is the sincerest form of flattery. Just make sure I get credit if it winds up in Parachutist. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  20. I resized the picture to a more "medium" size. Looks nice as a wallpaper on my monitor (set at 1024x768). You can grab it here. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  21. The camera was a Nikon Coolpix 885. It's a 3.2M pixel camera. I took the photos at 2048x1536 resolution and medium-level JPEG compression. It's a pretty cool camera with lots of features that I'm still trying to get a handle on. I'm sure I'll be posting more as I learn a little more & get better at it. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  22. Well I finally managed to take my new camera for a test spin so I took it out to the DZ yesterday. The pics are here... The funny thing about digital cameras is that there is about a 3-second delay between when you press the shutter and then get the photo. So it took a lot of attempts to get a swoop but I really like the one that I got. And yeah I know the lighting is bad in some of them, but I'm still learning about composition & such... "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  23. I'm no expert by any stretch, but I was having a conversation with my rigger along these lines just the other day. Basically, to make a long story short, the 135 lb person loaded at 1:1 presents less surface area to the air ... both in terms of his//her body and the smaller canopy. Thus there will less drag on his 1:1 loading than the 210 pound person. The smaller person will therefore experience "hotter" performance even though the loadings are the same. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
  24. Not necessarily. There is a cutaway-able BASE rig made by Vertigo called the Sorcerer. On the page is a link to a movie of a BASE cutaway with the system. *Poof*.... instant canopy. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."

    hFF?

Exactly. For example, here's a move I was thinking of. You have two people facing off. The objective being to cat behind the person you're facing. So instead of flying around behind the person and grabbing on, why not barrel roll on your back, de-arch (or arch, I suppose, depending on your perspective), drive forward and do a 1/2 back flip over the person's back? Play the burble right and you should come out right behind the person facing their legs. Things like that... Exactly again. It would be a way of learning belly flying skills that would serve you well on any RW jump while having fun in the process. Plus you'd get some exposure to freefly and learn some things that might serve you well in *that* environment as well. As most of you know, my objective is to be well rounded. Just trying to think of ways to merge the two so that you're always practicing skills that can be used in either discipline.
