I think we were on that same run when someone let loose a particularly nasty one. And no it wasn't me. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Sometimes that just makes it worse by blowing it all around. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

OK this is *totally* not skydiving related but I just had to comment on it.... The Good Very sweet, low profile design. The whole thing takes up less space than my CRT monitor. Me likes flat panels. The Bad 700 Mz processor/128M RAM/40G HD. Huh? My 2 year old (underpowered) PC has that configuration. Maybe better, now that I think of it (600 Mz K6, 512M RAM, 30G HD, 64M GeForce 3). The Ugly ~ $1500 to own a system with The Bad's specs. The Rant I'm convinced Apple just doesn't get it. They're going back to their old model of overcharging for a closed/proprietary system that doesn't really offer any advantage over a PC system other than "cuteness". I don't pay for Cute, I pay for power. Hell for $1500, I could build a monster PC system that runs Linux and Windoze. One that's almost twice the specs of the iMac and runs everything that runs on the Apple platform. I still think OS X is a great idea (haven't played with it enough to know if they implemented it well), but heck Linux has several window managers that are every bit as nice... and runs more software. There's a nice little graphic that illustrates what Bill & I are talking about. If you're like me, and learn better seeing rather than reading, this might help make it clearer. Freefall Drift Graphic "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I've always been taught you exit slowest to fastest (with a few special case exceptions like skysurfers, high pullers, birdman suits, etc.). So belly fliers go first, biggest-way to smallest. Then freefliers, biggest-way to smallest. I think people agree that order should be conducted in a way that maximizes separation between groups. There are a lot of factors that weigh into that decision, but the main one is going to be how jump run is conducted relative to the uppers. If jumprun is with the wind (downwind/tailwind), you'll want to exit fastest to slowest. If jumprun is against the wind (upwind/headwind) you'll want slowest to fastest. Crosswind seems to be pretty much a wash. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

You can always keep the slider down. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Man I'm coming in late on all the threads lately... 178 for me. Wonder if I can hit 400 by the end of this year? "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Boy if that isn't a perfect summation. I'm at stage two right now. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I dunno... dropzone.com seems to work equally well in that context as well. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

One other little tidbit thta helped me tremendously was to pay attention to the feet. Your feet, just like everything else on your body is a rudder. If your feet are a little "lazy" (i.e. toes up) you will push yourself backward. Try pushing the toes down (along with the other tips people have given ... hips forward, lean back) and see if that helps. So I bop on over to dz.com to do my morning review of the evenings' posts when I notice the new article. Take a closer look at the photo and think "Boy that looks familiar.... Hey that's Brit!"

Hey ramon you gonna be back from UAE in time? I may try to make it out to S-land this Sunday. If you're planning on going out drop me a line. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I am *so* there. I was hoping they'd do this again. Last year I was just off student status when they had it. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

K I'm late getting in on this one. Old beat up New Balance running shoes. Running shoes... run out landings. Nice & bouncy. Plus I wear out the treads running so they heel slide pretty nice as well! "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Nah it only took me one or two follow-up questions to figure out if they were BS-ing or not. Plus I'm not into lying, so if it's a matter of telling the truth and waiting, or lying and taking a chance, I'll wait. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Yup. I was scoping out slinky lingere just the other day with Liz. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

My rigger was saying that the Astra is actually a pretty good AAD -- that they could seriosuly cut into Airtec's business if Airtec keeps up withthe battery & 12-year lifetime stuff. I mentioned the FXC 12000 and he said it was a totally different animal. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

What is it with French & Italian businesses? It's almost like they think the yardstick of a good business is how poorly they treat their clientele. Now the Germans OTOH.... "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Heh. Welcome to the "real world" they don't teach you (and didn't teach me) about in college. This is sort of what you get when the economy slows down. Employers start getting really picky because they can be in times like this. Used to be that anybody with a pulse could get a programming job. I have almost 6 years experience and I'm still looking. I get questions like "Have you used IBM Visual Age?". Um, no, but it's just an IDE, I'm sure I could pick it up fairly quickly. "Sorry. We really want someone who is good with Visual Age." Stupid stuff like that. Oh well. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Script kiddies. LOL. And they wouldn't even begin to know how to write a real virus or come up with a new, innovative exploit the old fashioned way. Nope, now they just whip out their Visual Virus Builder Pro and slap one together with a nice fancy point & click interface. No coding skillz required! I actually got an email containing that virus last night. PCCillin caught it, warned me before I had even looked at my Inbox and cleaned the file so that I could delete it. If you don't have them yet, PCCillin & ZoneAlarm are your friends! "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Looks like Richmond & SDC will be the places to be next year. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."
