You might have mistaken breakoff with pulltime. At breakoff you don't want to just go to your belly, you want to gradually transition out into a normal track. For good or bad, I tend to rely on mine a lot. It's why I went out and bought a Dytter as a backup to my ProTrack. I still can sorta sense when we're getting close to turn & burn altitude, but as far as when to actually make my move, I listen to the beeper. It's kinda funny. My internal clock is now tuned to freefly times. I went on a few RW jumps and every time I'd start getting this "Shit we should be breaking now" feeling. I'd look at my alti and we'd be at 6K. I forget where I read it, but a very large number of violent criminals had a previous history of being cruel to animals. One of the best media portrayals of our sport that I've seen was a show on The Learning Channel called "Risk Takers & Thrill Seekers." It was basically a profile of people who enjoy "risky" pastimes. The profiled a body surfer, a motorcycle jumper, a wing walker, a BASE jumper and some skydivers. They also followed two guys who apparently were part of the production going through AFF. They went into the psychology and physiology of risk takers and, surprisingly, portrayed them in a very positive light. Very interesting and a refreshing change from the norm. I know whenever we do tracking dives we're out last (well, before the students/tandems last). We go out perpendicular to jump run & turn around at about 8000-9000. Not all tequila bad. Bad tequila es muy bad. Get some good anejo (Herradura, El Tesoro, etc.) and it's a pretty decent next morning. Well like I said I wasn't singling anybody out and I'm not taking sides in any of these things. I just hate seeing all the arguing. And the only way to stop is for all of us to take it upon ourselves. Hell, the Jews & Arabs both have good reasons for killing each other. But the only way to stop the killing is to stop killing. In that case no one wants to make a firm commitment to stop, because revenge is so much easier and satisfying. Thus, the cycle of violence continues. These little tiffs are really no different.
