Walt called me today from Salado and said Nina was there, and that I HAD to tell her what happened to me. It definately made me appreciate the SCR ceremony!

Well, after enduring an SCR ceremony last week at Skyfest, I thought nothing could be more painful. WRONG!!! Last night I was initiated into the Texas Hill country. We moved here 3 months ago from Houston. So I'm sitting on my floor talking on the phone, and my finger just catches on fire! I immediately knew what had just happened...I had been stung by a scorpian! I did not see the little *%$#, and I had never been stung by one, but I had not doubt that's why my hand was burning. Anyway, it gets worse. I'm on a mission now to find it so we can have a little chat (yeah right!) and then my left leg catches on fire. I'm thinking "you're KIDDING me!" Yes, he had crawled up my pants leg after zapping me on the finger! So I'm stripping faster than I ever have in my life, thanking God that he didn't go any higher, and shaking my pants out with all my might! Finally the thing falls out and I stare in disbelief. How can something so small cause so much pain? Needless to say, I took great joy in sending the little boogar to scorpian you know where What a nice welcome to the beautiful Hill Country! We have a grey female cat and if she hadn't already come with a name (got her from my neighbor), we would have named her Ashly and called her Ash for short. If you like that idea, you could name him Ashton. I think Pepper would work too since it's grey. Good luck on whatever you decide. He's darling! Those are great pics! I'm the one in the tie dye. Notice in the second pic I'm holding my shirt around the back? Someone started lifting my shirt up so they could pour beer down my pants!! ***The ceremony wasn't nearly as bad as reliving it in pictures : ( __________________________________________________ At least now that we've seen the pictures, we know who was causing all that pain and agony. One thing I learned from the ceremony is that I'm not missing anything by NOT drinking beer. That stuff is N A S T Y!! Oh man....I was pretty down for the next few days after Skyfest as well. My husband left for a week-long business trip the day I came home, so that didn't help much. Today I took my kids swimming and then for sno cones....so right now I'm exhausted from the heat and looking forward to a decent night's sleep Maybe I'll have something more exciting to report in a few days.
