Blink that sucks. If you're looking for him contact the local DZs and talk to the DZOs. The Kansas City area is small enough that most everyone knows everyone. Contact Jen Sharp at Skydive Kansas Chris Hall at Skydive Kansas City Tom Dolphin at Missouri River Valley Chris Armstrong at K-State Parachute Club Paul Ericksmon (SP?) at Kansas City Skydiving Center There phone numbers can all be found in the Dropzone section. KSUPC and Skydive Kansas are listed in Kansas. The other three (I believe) are listed in Missouri. Hopefully one of those five will know him. Skydive Dallas over Thanksgiving
WatchYourStep replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Troy come with me to Dallas. We can go to the tunnel when the weather really gets crappy in Kansas. I am planning on hitting the tunnel up at least once this winter, but I want to do some actual jumping right now. Heart rate readings while skydiving
WatchYourStep replied to bradp's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I checked this out early last year after I just started. My resting heart rate is in the low 50s. I wrote the numbers down in my logbook but don't have them here with me. What I recall was that my heart rate jumped 30 beats almost instantly when the door opened. Don't forget all the things that can alter the heart rate readings you are getting (diet, stress, hydration level, etc.) "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Skydive Dallas over Thanksgiving

Is this Jeff H? I met you when I pulled through in March. I was from Kansas and pulling several long rowing shells for crew. I did a few jumps with Conrad, Janet, and ... crud the other name escapes me. Edited to remove last name. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Skydive Dallas over Thanksgiving
WatchYourStep replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm planning on coming down for a visit. I'll be jumping there all day on the 24th and 25th. Anyone else going to be around? Should I bring my wingsuit along? Anyone, anyone, Bueller? That's awesome. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."

One More Newbie Question . . .
WatchYourStep replied to Gato's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've never done static line so I don't know, but can someone explain the reasoning behind this statement? Or is this statement even valid? Thanks PS: What's up Chris? Hope things are going well. The Legend is going to be there? Holy moly. You mean the same guy in this picture? THE LEGEND I heard the guy in yellow had never done a skydive before but Jimmy took him up anyway and turned him into a flying machine. Hope the winds die down today or I won't get to make jump this weekend Edited to add: Picture was found on Skydive Radio's website Skydive Radio "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Thanksgiving...where to go?
WatchYourStep replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Z-Hills is out, but where else could I go? I'd like to drive it and I live in Kansas. I'm thinking Houston, Dallas, or TN to Mullins. Thoughts? What is the average temp at most of these places in late November? I'm off work from the 23rd until the 27th and I want to do some jumping. Suggestions? Bump to the top for Paul. What time are things going to start on Friday. I work until 4, but am going to try to make it for a jump or two or three. Then I'm off to Iowa. Yeah Iowa, blah. The wheel on my bike has come up a foot or maybe two. The risk reward ratio to me isn't worth it for wheelies, although I am guilty of high speed riding. A good steering dampner will help in both of those situations. Riding at high speeds is similar to swooping. You better be on your A game because your room for error is very small and if you do get hurt it's probably going to be pretty bad. I'm a guy who rides a bike. If he is riding high speed and likes to ride wheelies, ask him if he has a steering dampner on his bike. If the tire gets a shake around 150mph I'm guessing not. They are a great investment and can be picked up and installed for under $300. One of these would have potentially saved at least two fellow riders in my area last year. Martin the DZO at Air Capital is awesome and they have a lot of outs. Come on up this weekend to Skydive Kansas if you want to check out the Germain canopy course. Ideas for who to give the discount to:

Ideas for who to give the discount to:
WatchYourStep replied to WatchYourStep's topic in The Bonfire
Long story made short: This weekend I'm taking 16 of my rowers skydiving, because the group is this large I get roughly a $50 scheduling discount that I can keep for myself (on top of the referral fee I received) or i can pass it on to the group however I like. I've decided to give the scheduling discount of $50 to one of the people to help with the jump. The question is what is the best way to decide who gets it? I could do a random draw but that's no fun. I was thinking of making them put their head on a bat circle around it 20 times, run 100 yards and put together an easy puzzle. Fastest time wins. Give me some ideas. Have mine for about 50 jumps now and no problem with it. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."

This one was (I believe) all stunts done to each other. I can't think of anything were they damaged other's property or did anything to harm anyone. There were a few times they did funny stuff in front of random people. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. How Come Every Time you Come Around...?

In this case the "London Bridge" is already explained to you. A London Bridge is also when two men take a woman. One from each side and then high five eachother, creating an image of a bridge I thought that was the Eiffel Tower? Yeah the movie was good. There were about ten of us that went and it was hilarious. The only thing that I thought was a little rough was the fact that i was sitting next to two kids (roughly 10-13) who were there with a parent (I know because one of the kids called him dad). I mean this movie should be NC17 considering all the sacks and acts you see. Overall I give it 2 thumbs up. Mansel congratulations! Joni let me know when and i'll be there. If there are some weekends that you plan on doing a lot of wingsuit jumps let me know and i'll make the drive. It would be nice to fly with someone else. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Distance to Empty just came on my iPod. It's a band my friend is in. They are getting ready to take off on a 6 week tour which is pretty neat. They have a 311/Incubus/Jack Johnson sound. You can check them out at www.myspace.com/distancetoempty if you are interested. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
